Let's take a look at what made the games P2P so poor for them to decide something like this.
Skill based match making.
Melee fixes.
Damage referee
Attempted fixes on the connection settings. (-blam!-ing failure)
The four main factors in the death of the p2p code, yet it is somehow our fault that the crucible suddenly is this bad.
The main cause of lag is distance. Typically, the closer the host is to you, the better the connection.
We don't need bans on players to lessen lag. That is the complete opposite of the problem. The problem was created by Bungie, now they're punishing players for it.
This is Infuriating. No other company would treat their customers like this.
The company is too lazy to even implement better p2p settings. Forget about content for a week, and fix the connection settings to what it was in y1! Most of the problem would be solved. But they apparently know best. What a joke.
Sign if you want Bungie to stop restricting players for their own mistakes.
People need to realize that It isn't our fault it's getting worse.
It is their servers that decide to connect us in the worst manner possible for the sake of skill.
When our connection is suffering because everyone in the match is. They will inadvertently ban those who don't deserve it.
I believe this is a ridiculous way of dealing with red bars.

4 AntwortenStop trying to play using McDonald's wifi

2 AntwortenThey had a great setup for dealing with red bars: CBMM. Worked throughout year 1 with few hiccups. But, in true Bungie fashion, they diecided to fix something that was not broken, and gave us - SBMM - the broken "damage ref" (look it up) - bans for piss poor connections

Bearbeitet von WormChi: 5/23/2016 4:12:26 PMThey sell $30 adapters that will give you a wired connection.

If lag caused intentionally for cheating purposes can't be differentiated from lag caused by other reasons, then I see about two choices. Let all the laggers play or let none of them play. Apparently things are leaning towards the latter which is fine with me.

This is where the incentive to ensure your modem is tuned properly can come into play. Once you have established that parameter, then its time for Bungie to ensure their end of the bargain. How many of us have Nat type 3, or Nat type 2 connections on our consoles? Tried to fix it? Do we periodically reboot our modems/routers? Clear caches? Start with your end folks, then go from there. At the end of the day, maybe time to go play something else....

9 AntwortenYou little cry babies are either broke or cheap as hell, BUY broadband and stop using WiFi!!! Also if your wired to a router coming from your modem you should have a NAT type 2 which commonly has issues depending on how many devices you have using the WiFi signal. you chumps KNOW this downloading with a low bandwidth as well gives red bar status theres a bunch of topics and guides to help this issue but everyone wants to be in denial blaming bungie bungie bungie either get informed or get your brains checked you cheaters are obscene
-
1 AntwortenThree things: 1. You'll find no sympathy here. You will get none from me. 2. If you're lagging, how is it fun? You can't play and you're ruining the game for others. Just get off. 3. It's not Bungie's fault you are red barring, its your Walmart wifi.

1 AntwortenThe amount of stupid comments in this thread is ridiculous!..... It is ONLY, I repeat ONLY, on Destiny where I lag in PVP.......that is Bungie and the games problem. Stop trying to blame the players Internet connection.
-
2 AntwortenHow about people with bad connection get paired with other people that have bad connection? Then everyone can be happy.
-
2 AntwortenSince when did bungie start banning cause of this?

I'm amazed at how many people A) don't read and B) have zero idea how the interwebs works... I average 100 Mbps download and 50 upload. New fibre optics lines in my area. Not one single game outside of Destiny lags. Not one. I haven't been banned yet, doubt I will. But, so many individuals here are blaming a players speed, why am I red barring in this game only? Averaging those numbers? My ping is ridiculously amazing as well. Curious... Very curious.

If you have a poor connection, you can't stream videos but you should be allowed to play pvp and -blam!- everyone else playing Brilliant...
-
4 AntwortenI had to do so much just to make my connection to destiny relatively decent. Comcast has a monopoly on my area and I have no other choice. Unless, I move to the west coast, where better Internet exists.

They just need to host their own servers. Still though, other people shouldn't have to suffer because you connected your console to the McDonald's free wifi.
-
3 AntwortenI don't want them banned, just booted from the game, if the red bar is consistent. I rarely red bar, but when I do, I leave the game and grab a Dos Equis.
-
I agree, the game needs to be designed in a way that you don't have to be lucky enough to afford the highest speed internet possible just to be able to play it.
-
Why should I suffer for your shit connection.... Funny that this is the first game where I've noticed lag gives you a upper hand tho. Usually it gives people a handicap.
-
21 Antworten100% CBMM: Nearly all lag problems solved. Yes, it's really that simple.
-
4 AntwortenBump I have a good connection and agree with OP. I have never in my life seen a game so bad lag wise it has needed this many patches. It is completely their fault for not having dedicated servers. If Gears of War and Halo can pay for it so can they.
-
I have no pity for people getting banned for shitty Internet connections. They ruin the game for everyone else. Once in a blue moon (probably less) I'll notice things lagging on my end. I just stop playing. It's not fun for me. And I know I'm just ruining everyone else's fun too.
-
Either way. They need to reconfig settings better or not play if they cause problems for others. I'd be satisfied with a kick But a ban is better.
-
Red bars can go drink teh chlorine, ban them all.
-
Red bar=Report
-
3 AntwortenIf you're continually red bar and ruining other people's experiences, you should be banned.
-
1 AntwortenFrankly I wish they would perma ban me from this craptastic game so I can put this addiction behind me.
