Let's take a look at what made the games P2P so poor for them to decide something like this.
Skill based match making.
Melee fixes.
Damage referee
Attempted fixes on the connection settings. (-blam!-ing failure)
The four main factors in the death of the p2p code, yet it is somehow our fault that the crucible suddenly is this bad.
The main cause of lag is distance. Typically, the closer the host is to you, the better the connection.
We don't need bans on players to lessen lag. That is the complete opposite of the problem. The problem was created by Bungie, now they're punishing players for it.
This is Infuriating. No other company would treat their customers like this.
The company is too lazy to even implement better p2p settings. Forget about content for a week, and fix the connection settings to what it was in y1! Most of the problem would be solved. But they apparently know best. What a joke.
Sign if you want Bungie to stop restricting players for their own mistakes.
People need to realize that It isn't our fault it's getting worse.
It is their servers that decide to connect us in the worst manner possible for the sake of skill.
When our connection is suffering because everyone in the match is. They will inadvertently ban those who don't deserve it.
I believe this is a ridiculous way of dealing with red bars.

76 AntwortenGood for bungie. I just got 2 emails this weekend saying 2 people I reported got banned. I report all red and yellow bars

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von snick: 5/23/2016 5:30:06 PMI'd be fine with red/yellow connections only playing with other red/yellow connections. No bans necessary

I have a good connection, and it's unplayable for me still.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Sanctus Michael: 5/28/2016 9:19:36 AMI have no problem with them restricting players due to lag... but ONLY IF they make this a dedicated server game, like Dice's Battlefield where I can browse servers, see what mode that server is playing, the players on it, the map that the server is currently on, see what country region that server operates in (and only log onto US servers), and most importantly... MY GOD DAMN CONNECTION STRENGTH TO THE SERVER!!! F*ck Bungie and this outdated p2p bullshit. What AAA title uses p2p? Spend some money you cheap bastards and dedicate servers to pvp. No, sorry. I can either be green bar or red depending on what player is the host. No, imo bungie can't restrict based on connection when my connection can be green if player A in the lobby is the host and red of player C is the host. It ain't my Internet service connection, it's this ancient, cheap ass p2p architecture. Look, by using us players to host the game, bungie has millions of "free servers" so to speak. But my xbox one is a GAME CONSOLE, not a server made to host a game for me and 5 other people. My Internet connection was meant for ME to play with and when it's only me, it's fine. I didn't intend to have my Internet connection "server oriented" for me and 5 other people. Dice spent the money to take the burden of their game, Bungie is using our game consoles to host the game, saving them money. Then the idea of banning players when thier connection is good enough for them but not a p2p environment? No! Planet Destiny folks want destiny 2 to be 60 fps. Can you imagine my xbox one running a 60 fps game AND acting like a pvp host server? Please. This is also why Dice can have a large map, 64... SIXTY FOUR... players AND like 24 vehicles all running at the same time. Because they're using a COMPUTER SERVER with INDUSTRY T-LINES hosting the game.... not a game console. Man, it's a game console, not a server.

Red bars are bad that's pretty obvious people who take advantage of lag should get the ban hammer... I also think that the problem is on bungies side as well they put more of a focus on SBMM then CBMM so we're being matched up with people all over the world and that's cause more lag and that has nothing to do with bad internet connection SBMM can't work with P2P connection game I have 300 Mbps and 150 upload more or less technically I should never lag with a hard wired connection but when I get paired up with someone from Europe or Australia my connection goes from full green to bouncing between yellow and red... Banning people who take advantage of lag is a step in the right direction but look at the real problem its your matchmaking that's causing the problem

15 Antwortenred bars always have the upper hand during a battle.

1 AntwortenBungie: "lets not have dedicated servers" Bungue: "lets ban people for poor connection"

Kids who report are jackasses. Mommy mommy, mommy.

4 AntwortenIf you have bad connection stay off pvp period. Ive seen people skip/teleport around the maps with red bars and i cant believe they stick around the whole match

1 AntwortenDestiny is that only game that lags for me

1 AntwortenI don't have any problem playing other online games such as halo or CoD. But I sometimes get red bar in destiny. So if bungei decided to ban me from destiny then I will ban destiny from my console. Period

1 AntwortenThe community is salty as hell and ready to attack anyone... You think bungie will take responsibility? Absolutely not. Theres a bunch of pmayers who know what the true issues are but the rest of the community doesnt. Its easier to blame the red bar who is wrecking you than for the game developers to manage and take accountability for THEIR GAME.

1 AntwortenBungie won't pay for dedicated servers but expects their customer to pay for better internet, no thanks. My connection is fine for everything apart from Destiny. Fix your shit Bungie...Please!

2 AntwortenAgreed. I have 65 megs down and I still red bar often. I play wired with a cat6 cable. There is literally nothing I can do to make it any better and it still sucks sometimes. I only have connection issues with destiny, no other games. If I were to get restricted I know the problem is them, so I'm not going to change my setup, I'd just stop playing destiny. I don't think I'm alone in that either. Plus, with damage referee especially (and even before that) red barring didn't give me any advantage. I die way more often when my connection is bad, and my hits just don't register on anyone.

Agreed, even after getting fibre I only get 9 download and 2 upload

You know they can tell the difference right....

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von freshlydunbread: 5/23/2016 6:46:42 PMI love how they ban people for bad connections, because it "affects the gaming experience for other people", but won't ban people for blatantly cheating in their competitive game modes.

This ^ Dude I know so many people are going to jump to defend Bungie and mouth off red bars but they're going to be left with nothing. This is the worst decision they could have made as a company, because we all pay their salaries and make up a community. Again-they wont realise until they do it and -blam!- it up. I hope they do it so they show their true colours.

Get rekt, fool.

I smell poopies are you poopies poopies suck poopies smell go away poopies

I know people who slave long and hard everyday to afford good connection. They should NOT have even the slightest chance of being matched up with some sand dweller in the middle of Iraq with 2 cooper wires hooked up to Camel titties. I hope one day the gaming community slaughters the filth know as the red bars.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von RawDawg: 5/23/2016 7:20:46 PMwhat's asinine is using an entire Bladedancer super on a guy with bad connection and he never dies until 5 seconds after he kills you with a shotgun... I say that cause it happened last night on a guy with a red bar... Plus there're 2 people in this world I trust, one of'em is me and the other isn't you so how do I know you're not lag switching? Down with the bloody red bars!

Not sure if you ... follow Destiny at all? If you did, you would be aware that deliberately lagging is the single biggest exploit people use to raise their kd. Bungie is trying to reduce deliberate lagging.

It kind of is

9 AntwortenBan each and every single one of those red bars, As a person who pays good money for his internet I feel I shouldn't be put up against people in Iraq running on dialup. Iv got a 118mbs connection, I don't care if I'm playing people with 10.0k.d as long as they aren't lagging I know it's pure skill that got me killed and not some freaky Internet accident. Also find those who are lag switching and give them a swift kick to the dick and a good 1 week ban
