As a PvE player, I'm glad Trials was cancelled ...
Plain and simple. I've watched this game spin out of control for almost two freaking years now due to nerfs and terrible adjustments brought on by PvP complainers. As a PvE player, I'm rather glad to see all the crybabies lose their precious Trials for a bit. It's all your fault anyway. You know you would have gone into Trials with endless rockets and cheated your way to the lighthouse.
For the record; I do miss IB. I do always play IB.
Edit: thanks for the feedback, all (the good and the bad). I'd like to make something clear as I feel it may be misunderstood. I don't wish for ToO to be removed from Destiny. It's a popular game mode and I realize many people play it. I'm just stating that I hope (for once) PvP players see what it's like to have something to which they've grown accustomed removed. It'll be back (without a doubt). However, our super abilities; our ammo reserves; our precious favorite weapons ... Will NEVER be the same. Remember that.
2nd Edit: I never thought this thread would take off like it has. I thank each and every one of you for your comments. My final thought is this: I would love to see Destiny's PvE and PvP be able to be played seamlessly. I have absolutely no qualms about there being a PvP. I myself greatly enjoy IB (and anything Mayhem related). Someone posted below that we are all guardians here, and they are absolutely correct. We're all here playing this game TOGETHER. I would play Destiny with each and every one of you given the opportunity to do so. With all of its flaws, downsides, nerfs ... Whatever; I still love Destiny. I've never enjoyed playing a game the way I do this one. It's revolutionary. I know it can be great. I know it can be what it was meant to be. It's never to late for anything. My only hope is that Bungie opens their eyes and ears and starts taking REAL action to improving this would be amazing shooter.

Give me a break, so it takes 10 extra minutes to kill a boss. How is making something more challenging in PvE causing it to be bad? Clearly you don't set high goals, if a "hard game" bothers you. EDIT: Let's be honest. All you want are cool looking, sound and animated guns. You want a huge rocket launcher that makes a rooster noise when fired and shoots 72 rounds that explode into 85 flaming balls and then turns into Unicorns to impale the boss. Sorry.. You actually have to try at PvE.

Since Bungie has become entirely focused on PvP, they might as well just get rid of PvE. They don't even care enough to keep the changes separate. Forget bringing the next Raid too. What's the point when all our weapons are rendered ineffective?

The PvE in this game is just pretty good, but the PvP is one of the best. Actually, I think it would be the best if there was better balance. I think Activision is the one that pushed for PvE more than anything, because that's where you get good ratings, and ratings = money. Over time, Bungie realized that PvP is what keeps people coming back, and that's why you see the larger emphasis on it once the ratings don't matter anymore. Once another paid DLC drops, you'll see a huge emphasis on PvE once again, but over time, they will cater more and more toward PvP. This is how each DLC has worked so far, and Destiny is still one of the most played console games 1.5 years after launch because of this model. Another thing to note is that people are on the other side of your gun, and imbalance is infinitely more obvious in PvP. A gun can be better than any others in PvE, and it may not be obvious because you're not the one being killed by it in PvE, it will just take slightly longer to kill things. That's why you see balance in PvP, but not as often in PvE. Also, The Gjallarhorn, Icebreaker, Black Hammer, etc. nerfs WERE PvE nerfs. Those are PvE weapons that were nerfed to avoid expansion power creep. I find that a lot of people don't realize that.

2 AntwortenFun fact, majority of PvP nerfs come about from data gathered in Iron Banner. It usually starts with most of the PvE guys coming in using what they think they like - and getting smashed. They then change up and use what they see most (whatever is the Meta at that point). This then sends Bungie the message that these weapons are being overused - which leads to nerfing of said weapons. So be glad IB was delayed, not that Trials was suspended.

Now pvp players get to take out one item in pve. They take out the taken king raid. now they are happy. lets keep going shall we? see where your idiocy leads you? to hell son TO HELL.

I came to play "Spot The PVP Player" and I'm having a wonderful time. So much butthurt. I love your post tho. PVP ruins PVE with all their bullshit cries for unnecessary nerfs, so it's awesome to finally see them suffer over a patch stemmed from PVP.

3 AntwortenI was slightly disappointed IB was cancelled. Wanted to try and get two characters through to lvl 5 this week. I decided to give Destiny a break this week and downloaded Far Harbor instead.

2 AntwortenWhat you are experiencing is called "Schadenfreude", which translates into "sorrow joy". It is the enjoyment derived through the misfortune of others. Any sibling knows the feeling well. That said, there is nothing gained by anyone with the loss of Trials or Iron Banner, no matter if you like PvP or not. I agree, I'm sick of what balancing has done to PvE (and yes, I primarily play PvE) but I don't win if those games are corrupted by people exploiting the system. Just because I don't want something doesn't mean others shouldn't have it.

Destiny was advertised and sold as a PvE focus game. Lack of content and poor mechanics broke that illusion early on so Activision focused on PvP instead as end game. The problem was that destiny was designed with very little PvP content. Bungie have be fighting an uphill battle ever since, all the time losing players. Hope to god the D2 model will be better.

8 AntwortenThe outcry of this shows how the majority of players in Destiny prefer PvP rather than PvE. Bungie have been manipulated by Activision to turn Destiny into a PvP focused game. When you bought Destiny was it for PvE or PvP?

When 80% of a players time is spent in PvE and he calls for a nerf that's not a pvp player calling for a nerf. PvE players have ruined this game. Both PvE and PvP wise. You PvE guys are just too spineless to admit it. [spoiler]Your .8 is showing...[/spoiler] Edit: I think it's cute how no PvE player has commented on my last paragraph. Truth sucks don't it? Edit 2: This is still getting attention so I'll add this I guess. Notice how you PvE guys can't argue the fact that the PvE is easy as hell. Enemies jump into your sniper scopes. You can stun lock majors and most bosses. The only hard part of the raid was figuring it out the first time. That's the nature of the beast. You can like it, but to ignore the fact that it's easy is ignorant.

I don't think that rockets would have helped many go to the lighthouse. I know in my experience teams only get heavy a small percentage of the time because one team or the other will dominate the locations and wipe out before anyone can grab it.

9 AntwortenI think anyone who plays only PVE or only PVP in this game is lacking. The PVE experience helps you learn your enemies and beat back the darkness when new threats arise. The PVP experience keeps your wits sharp during the quiet moments between said threats. To avoid one or the other is to be unprepared. Stay safe out there guardians.

You fail to understand that it is Bungie who are nerfing this game to the ground, and they are mostly doing this based on their misguided belief in statistics.

I played trials every week with friends I never cried for my weapons to be turned into Nerf guns Because of the nerfs I stopped playing PvE ,my guardian feels very weak now compared to year 1. They really need to separate PvE from PvP ,or have different sets of gear that is only for PvP. I'm mainly a PvP player but I feel like PvE is slowing getting pushed aside.
