Bad parenting
All of you parents on here, you need to smack your kids around a little more. Kids these days are too spoiled and have absolutely zero discipline. No sportsmanship either. All these little 14 year old kids sending me messages saying they are going to kill me because they lost, or them cursing me out. Just cause they lost. It's one thing if I bag them and stuff, but just cause you lost? The problem with these kids harassing with messages is that they don't get smacked when they mess up. If your kid is being ridiculous, a quick slap on the cheek will fix it. If my mom slapped me, I knew to shut up. There's nothing wrongly with it, and you parents that condemn it, your kid is going to be far to assertive and feel a little more self entitled than the next kid. My parents smacked me. I'm not in jail or killing people. It's not abuse, it's punishment. Taking away a game, or saying "now listen sport, don't do that again. Do you want to go play catch now buddy"? That shit don't work

I trained myself to be mostly chill about games... unless I am spending more than one hour on a boss. I have also trained myself to be an asshole to EVERYBODY. Also making sure that I remember that I like Soundtracks to movies and games more than modern day pop music.

9 AntwortenPreach brother! My wife tries to be nice and gets run over. Women right? She will complain about one of our girls acting like a giant turd but won't discipline them. (they're 11 and 14) All I have to do is stroll upstairs and tell them they're going to need a dentist if they don't show their mother the respect she deserves. I always get an instant "yes sir" and mom gets a heartfelt apology.

I would want my children to understand what's right or wrong. Spanking would only make them scared and think "oh shit, I don't want to get smacked again, so I won't do that." I want them to have the mindset of "that's wrong, so I won't do it"

I agree 100%. People these days say hitting your children is abuse. Lol. It's called discipline. But I guess some rather try to reason with a 5 year old. Some of my friends treat their mothers like complete crap. Sometimes I want to punch them for speaking to their mom's like that. I guess it's just me that was raised to respect my parents.

2 AntwortenMost don't know how to teach an object lesson without showing anger and losing control. Hitting doesn't do much good. Case in point: I pick my GF's son up from school twice a week and he made a comment about my unclean floor mats. (His mom is super clean). When I dropped him off, I got out the vacuum, handed it to him and said, "now, you can clean my car to meet your discriminating standards as I wouldn't want you to be embarrassed about the car I use to pick you up." He learned to shut his mouth.
