Pease tell me more fellow guardian. Guardian Y1
There was a time when rocket launchers were the go to weapon to take down raid bosses. Where Rocket McDickFace would require more than 40 to be taken down. Where 'I need to pop a heavy' was said in unison by fireteams, followed by a religious silence as all fireteam members pulled out their ghosts, unholstered their rocket launchers and filled their mag, before stepping into the last room and face the final boss. Then one day, in week 2, a titan pulled out a never seen before rocket launcher. It was white as snow, with a golden wolf head at it's muzzel. His teammates looked puzzled. - I got it from a strange vendor at the tower. His words were met with only silence. - Looks coll huh? It's an exotic His fireteam burst out with laughter. - You waste your exotic slot on a rocket launcher? , said one hunter sarcastically - I have no words for such stupidity, said the awoken warlock. - you are a shame to the titan brotherhood, said the other titan - We should kick him, he clearly is out of his mind, said the secoond hunter - No. We are light brothers. Bound to fight the darkness. Together we fight. We may not approve his choice of gear, but we will not judge him for him. We go in, said the voidwalker who leaded the fireteam. They went into the vault... When the templar went down, they gasped. When the gatekeeper burnt, they wondered. And when Atheon met his demise in a fury of flames and fire.... they respected. And they knew. They knew that their quest for the mighty Gjallarhorn had just started, and that to become legend, they would need to find him, and use it to unleash the fires of hell upon their ennemies. But like too many legends... There was a darker side. It corrupted guardians. Pernitiously. The vanguard didn't notice at first. The speaker didn't rise to talk them back to reason... And before long, there was a void, a barrier, between guardians. Those who had a Gjallerhorn, welcome by all fireteams, and those who didn't, comdamned to rejection and lonelyness... It was not the weapons fault, no. It was ours. We channeled its power, drunk in it... and forgot who we were. The weapon that once helped us work together to bring down our ennemies... kept us apart. So the vanguard went to see the speaker, and together, they contacted those who had the power to change things... The Bungers. It was a desperate attempt. The bungers were not lightly called upon... and the 3 vanguards were heartbroken to have to do so. - We have no other choice, said Ikora - Let's get done with it, said Zavala They went in the bungers' Den and came out several hours later. - It is done, said Zavala - We had no choice, said Ikora. - I will miss you my old friend, whispered Cayde, stroking gently his own Gjallarhorn. Then came Y2. The weapon that once was, stayed behind. Gjallarhorn... became legend.
It's similar to the French Horn.

Gjallarhorn is from Norse mythology and was carried by the god Heimdall. He is most often summarized as the Watchman of the Aesir and the Guardian God of the Bifrost (the Rainbow Bridge to Asgard). Heimdall kept the “ringing” horn, Gjallarhorn, which could be heard throughout heaven, earth, and the lower world; it was believed that he would sound the horn to summon the gods when their enemies drew near.

Gjallarhorn was a year one exotic rocket launcher favored for PvE. Because it had tracking cluster bombs but they didn't explode. But did great dps on a boss.

2 AntwortenYou know that unbelievably amazing weapon that takes a ridiculous side quest to obtain. But once you had it, you were too strong for the game to handle? That was the gjallerhorn So strong in pve that the Npcs cried nerfed...and bungie listened...
-
it is something you could use in Y1 to not allow anyone into your FT

Gjallarhorn was made cause Shaxx saved everyone. Yet Saladin made Zavala a Vanguard Commander. Salad face is a dumbass.

If Gjallarhorn was invented by the allies on day one of World War Two. It would have been over by day three

Gjallarhorn? Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time...A long time. *strokes beard wistfully*

It will return. A gun forged from the armor of fallen guardians at the battle of Twighlight gap! The physical manifestation of hope, fear, lust and heart break! It was the the best hope humanity had at taking back the solar system and beating back the darkness! It was a king maker and boss slayer! On a side note... a way launchers with any kind of tracking could be mitigated could be to include armor with, or sub class options for, chaff to throw off the tracking systems if rockets... might be cool. Similar mechanic to shade step, double tap b to lunch chaff with a recharge.

Let's just say, for someone like me, made solo Nightfall Strikes sooooooo much easier :3

5 AntwortenGjallarhorn was what we used to know as "fun". Fun was nerfed, it was "OP" according to Desticle Lore
