Yes. Aiming the gun is easy
Yes. The range can be annoying
Yes. Almost anyone can use it effectively from day 1
But being a GOOD shotgunner isn't easy. Top tier shot gun players have immense skills in movement, pressuring opponents, and split second decision making.
I'm not defending shotgunners because I am one. Most people who know me, know that I snipe 99% of games. But it's kind of bullshit to discredit the skill set of another player.
I personally find using shotguns effectively very hard due to my passive nature, so when people make the statement that they take "no skill"... well I must just suck really bad. Right?
Watch the video, actually listen to my argument, then debate it all you want.

19 AntwortenBearbeitet von Tort78: 5/10/2016 8:45:18 PMI wouldn't say it doesn't take any skill. But when it's ALL you do...I don't think you should be offended if some punk kid calls you a scrub. Embrace your scrubliness and play how you want. And if shotgun rushers piss you off, figure out a way to counter them! And then let me know what it is....

Good vid bro.

3 AntwortenI wiped an entire enemy team 5 times in trials of Osiris with a shotgun. And I hadn't used shotguns for over a month, I won an ToO match because of a shotgun that I hadn't used for a month. Yeah, totally not easy

I dfon't think people have a problem with the truely good shotgunners. The issue is that it's an extremely forgiving path to "success" for those who are willing to trade. Just rush like an idiot and you'll most likely go 1:1 atleast. It doesnt help that most of the maps cater to that type of stupid gameplay.

Mtashed is completely right and I don't know why so many people down talk shotgunners like it's easy

5 AntwortenAnd fusion rifling is even harder.

Thank you someone for finally defending shotgunners!! I have made this point to many individuals saying shotgunning is cheap but it does take skill!! Frankly it could e easy to counter and avoid for people but they simply don't know how to!

1 AntwortenShooting a gun at close range is easy, yeah I know. But getting that close without being killed is the hard part

2 AntwortenSpecial weapon skill hierarchy - Sidearm > Fusion Rifle > Sniper > > > > > Shotgun

i suck at precision weapons when in pvp i'll name a few -snipers -pulses -scouts (except mida because sometimes i know i didn't get head and it still count) -handcannons though i'm good with autos (who isn't really) great with shottys, and love fusions because they're great for medium range shotgunning if you know how to work them, any of the above guns though are only fun guns for me as i can't use them competitively AT ALL. i am and always will be a close to medium range player and i'm fine with that, apparently though some people hate me for playing the way i like to and really like sending me hate for using a fusion/shotty/auto and tell me i have no skill because i use those. thanks for the reminder mtashed *fluffs away*

Shotguns literally dont take any gun skill to use at all. No argument on that. However they take a lot of movement skill to use effectively. Its unfortunate really that in every game, gun skill is worth and valued more than movent skill. Its been like this since the first shooters

Well said.. nice video

1 AntwortenBeing a warrior isn't hard. Muted.

okay lets see to play defensive with a sniper it only takes aim, offensive you need even better aim and quick target aqusition or rather quickscope skills to shotgun offensive you only need movement skills and unless you are a camping pu$$y its not that hard in the first place. what do you need to play defensive with a shotgun? exactly a finger so you can shoot anyone holding a primary in their hand while running towards you or even past you because you are most likely sitting like a duck. I don't care what you say I snipe since cod modern warfare 2 and I find it easier to shotgun rush than to snipe. simply because of the maps we can play on.

I really hate when friends get angry over things like this. Typically when someone on the other team is very good with their weapon that's the one that gets complained about. I'm an ok at best sniper, but I can work a shotgun like no tomorrow. It fits my play style more. I prefer to be very aggressive and put pressure on my opponents. I'm always running around and very mobile. I like to use all the different weapons and love to try out new ones. The current state of the game is that you can be effective with any weapon type. If you are struggling to get kills try something different.

4 AntwortenYou said in the video that "if I die then it means that I made a mistake" ok, so you're telling me that if I shoulder charge a person, dead center, spot on, straight to the head and he doesn't die or takes any damage its my fault.
-
And people STILL take you seriously. I feel embarrassed for them

Bearbeitet von Gideon VI: 5/10/2016 9:14:45 PMYeah, shotgunning is totally hard. It's almost as if Destiny has some sort of aim assistance mechanic that also magnetizes bullets to enemies' heads so console players can feel skilled. It's like Devil May Cry's automatic mode, or Arc System Works' Blazblue games have a 'stylish' control mode that lets you button mash and so combos; it's all meant to help unskilled players. Don't pretend that Destiny needs any modicum of skill as long as aim assistance is a thing.
