Does anybody still gunfight in this game anymore?
I honestly do not understand why people refuse to just, one on one gunfight anymore. Very seldom do do I jump in the crucible and see people duking it out. Every warlock throws a firebolt, every hunter shoots once/throwin knife, or wombo/combo, while titans either shoulder charge, or steal the kill the hunter has wombo/combo'd. Every hallway is being hardscoped, and any time somebody gets noticed, they tuck their tail and run/shadestep/glide away. I mean, did I miss the memo? The only ones that don't play cheap and go mega try hard, are just scrubs these days, or something? I can't be the only one to notice this, right?
Edit: I never thought this post would take off like this. I appreciate all of the civil responses and thought out opinions. But then there are the kids who are heartbroken, that I made a post about their precious playstyle, when they themselves can not kills without relying solely on their grenades to engage.

Edit: holy crap this thread took off. I was not expecting this many people to comment, let alone agree. It's good to see there are still gun slinging outlaws still showing the crucible what's up (not referring to the hunter subclass)

My brother is sorta new to destiny especially pvp and i was trying to show him how fun it could be to duke it out with another guardian but as you say it's almost impossible to have a normal fun gunfight anymore. I wouldn't mind a playlist were you can only use a primary weapon and just fight it out it still wont be perfect but i think it could make for some fun pvp in the end!

2 AntwortenI get what you're saying but almost like someone complaining about dying in war....because they got cheap shotted. I will use everything at my disposable .... If it short dicks every cannibal on the Congo then so be it. Seriously......they need a few maps that disable everything but primaries.

I have nothing against them because I like using snipers also but there's literally a lack of weapon diversity now and I actually avoid going to sniper lanes. When a whole team basically has snipers the whole map is a god damn sniper lane.

I try to, I generally run Hand Cannon + Shotgun or a Sniper to take out the hard-scopers.

If a sticky grenade can kill a few with one hit, combo with a well timed super and some teamwork to pick off a few stragglers, would that not be efficient?

I focus mainly on primary kills. Secondary, grenade, and melée all come out if I'm not face to face, or if I'm chasing someone down. It doesn't hurt to throw a knife instead of two bullets, if you know you have the kill, though.

I can get kills with a primary, but I have no idea how to make it feel more quick pace... Shotgunning always has a sense of urgency when there are multiple people around

4 AntwortenI sigh when I remember how much fun it was to gun down Thorn with Last Word, I miss those duels. I still have a clip of both teams sitting down to watch a Thorn and I duel on First Light(? It was the large moon map with Pikes), we bowed simultaneously and all.

I try to one v one as much as possible but I'm also trying to raise my K/D. Sorry if I run like a scared child but it's for my kd.

1 AntwortenThis is exactly why primaries REQUIRE a fast TTK in this game. There is simply no incentive to main a primary when you easily get outgunned by OHK supers, grenades, melees, heavy weapons, special weapons, and even map hazards. Oh, and if they don't OHK you they leave you one top to clean up with a primary. It's just so annoying...

3 AntwortenI sort of know why you'd make a post like this, but why would ANYONE do this? The only time i engage solely with my primary is when i have no other option. If, to you, its more fun to try and win every/most engagements with your primary, fair enough go ahead. Personally i enjoy getting more kills than deaths, and i do a lot better at this when i use everything i have at my disposal, including running away when i know I'm going to lose. That's the way i enjoy playing. If you head off and see some great destiny Youtubers like TV, they always advise "lead with a grenade" or "grenades are for chokepoints". If you enter into an engagement with a single enemy and you start it with even slightly less health than them, TTK is so short that 95% of the time you're dead, regardless of "skill levels".

Nope. I'm about to drop a sniper. He runs. Then he gets as far away as humanly possible then pulls some kind magic and snipes me. Then he most lirgets a huge ego and thinks he's good.
