I honestly do not understand why people refuse to just, one on one gunfight anymore. Very seldom do do I jump in the crucible and see people duking it out. Every warlock throws a firebolt, every hunter shoots once/throwin knife, or wombo/combo, while titans either shoulder charge, or steal the kill the hunter has wombo/combo'd. Every hallway is being hardscoped, and any time somebody gets noticed, they tuck their tail and run/shadestep/glide away. I mean, did I miss the memo? The only ones that don't play cheap and go mega try hard, are just scrubs these days, or something? I can't be the only one to notice this, right?
Edit: I never thought this post would take off like this. I appreciate all of the civil responses and thought out opinions. But then there are the kids who are heartbroken, that I made a post about their precious playstyle, when they themselves can not kills without relying solely on their grenades to engage.
2 mlg 4 me
Edit: holy crap this thread took off. I was not expecting this many people to comment, let alone agree. It's good to see there are still gun slinging outlaws still showing the crucible what's up (not referring to the hunter subclass)

4 AntwortenI love 1v1s with my ari-41 because I usually come out on top

1 AntwortenIt's because primary weapons are the least effective method of killing now. People will use whatever kills quickest and that's anything but primary weapons.

1 AntwortenPretty much was a game in ib that i was not actually killed by a gun team of 6 grenade spamming and then a few supers. I was like wow. Not one primary gun used to kill so no gunfights. Just simple go as two grenade spam and maybe mop up if person not dead.

4 AntwortenThe goal is to win using whatever resources you have available. It is a very natural act to use the most powerful weapon you have at your disposal in any given conflict. If you are running at me with a knife and I have a bazooka, I am not going to put the bazooka away and fight you with a knife. This isn't an 80's action movie. I am going to put a bazooka round in your face before you get close enough to knife me. I have said this a thousand times. Crucible should have its own combat system. All players get the same weapon will call it, "Gun." Then they all get the same armor: "Helmet," "Gauntlets," "Chest piece" and "Boots." All the armor will be of the same model but they can get different shaders to look different, kinda, because someone will eventually complain that shaders are OP but let's throw it in for a little drama. No special weapons. No heavy weapons. No grenades. No supers. No melee abilities. No sliding. In fact no classes and the abilities that come with them. They get to jump but they can only jump once every 30 seconds because people will complain about "bunny-hopping bitches". They can have a a basic melee (the same for everyone) but it takes 14 hits to kill someone with it and it only works at point-blank range (no lunging). Still someone will complain about "serial melee scrubs". No shields or health recovery either. There you go a balanced, vanilla shooter where "skill" reigns supreme.

5 AntwortenI still duke it out, but i almost immediately get killed by the strats mentioned in the post above

Because time to kill is terrible, ability's are far better than any weapon, secondaries being exempt.

7 AntwortenI'm a warlock and I throw solar. Your entire post is now false. Credibility gone just like that..

1 AntwortenI was just playing rumble and had quite a few 1v1s it was actually nice. I even spawned near the same guy like ten times and we just kept trading primary shots.

I agree 1v1 don't exist anymore

Use your tools. They're not crutches. It's only a crutch if you stack all the tools in your favor.

Bearbeitet von Dezzie19: 5/5/2016 5:05:16 AMDont be silly melee, grenades, supers, with a dash of a shotgun or sniper to the head whilst also fighting the game breaking lag and matchmaking is this games forte. In short it's a farce.

3 AntwortenTry hard - gamer slang, referring to a player who tries to win a game. I will never understand why people dis on try hards, when literally every player who has ever played a game in the history of ever, is a try hard. #TitanMasterRace

5 AntwortenI got 31 kills with Hawkmoon and Shotgun 3 minutes ago.

1 AntwortenI agree but you don't seem to play this game that much. People are just trying to get kills the fastest way possible to move on to the next one.
