Why is everyone always getting so excited about full auto on scouts and pulses? Is such a minor convenience really worth giving up a good perk slot?
Tell me why it's worth so much to you, or why it isn't.
Edit 1: Full auto DOES NOT increase a "hidden fire rate stat." If anyone tells you this, make fun of them.
Edit 2: I will never accept over sampling as an adequate excuse. But that's just my opinion, so it's nothing personal.
Edit 3: hands down my most popular post. My goal here was to gather opinions, and maybe give some of my own to try and delve deeper into your reasoning. I now have more information than I needed and that is truly a great thing in this scenario.

I like it on scout rifles...hate it on pulse rifles...can't get the hang of the rhythm on a pulse rifle....I like it on scouts...because...I'm lazy. \(^o^)/
-
I don't like it, I end up shooting more than I wanted when it's active.
-
I love full auto! Not only do I not have to worry about pulling the trigger and aiming again and again, plus having a fast trigger finger I over sample too many shots sometimes that will cost me a kill or my life (or both). It's not like people need it, it just makes it easier.
-
Well, as someone that primarily uses hand cannons while playing, the one shot/one kill ratio is hard to beat. Especially when using a scout that takes numerous head shots to take down any enemy. My finger isn't used to having to pull the trigger so many goddamned times all the time. That's why I prefer scouts with full auto, like the dis-43. Kick back, aim and hold trigger = profit
-
It keeps you from pulling trigger to fast so you maximize efficiency , that being said its not the most useful to me! Causes me to aim poorly esp with recoil on pulse rifles.
-
The same reason doctrine is so good. You don't have to focus on timing your shots. Just aim and hold the trigger.
-
It doesn't increase a RoF stat, but it could potentially make a gun shoot faster than without if the user was not firing the weapon as quickly as they could.
-
2 AntwortenIt's like head seeker. Both useless perks
-
I like it the most on PVE oriented shotguns. Other than that, they are not crazy exciting.
-
I've got an old Dead Luna scout with full auto and tbh it's not that useful. I do better when I manually hammer the trigger
-
2 AntwortenIt's a must have on auto rifles
-
1 AntwortenI actually don't like full auto on pulses. I like re-aligning my aim between bursts so with full auto it will make me miss 1-2 bullets of the second burst.
-
I personally learned a lot from all the posts, thanks Destiny community.
-
5 AntwortenEvery non auto gun thar gets that perk shoots faster with it. A shotty with it brings down sunsingers in a blink
-
I'm a lazy -blam!-er that's a good enough reason for me.
-
I like it because I'm lazy especially in HRoF weapons.
-
It depends on the gun and player. High RoF scout rifles are almost need to have full auto. It seems to matter how synchronized I am with tapping the fire button, the guns fire rate seems to vary, which can and will lead to lost gun fights.
-
10 AntwortenBecause It absolutely maxes out your fire rate no matter what. The faster your fire the faster you kill.
-
4 AntwortenIt improves a little the gun's shooting rate, and instead of pulling the trigger you can focus on aimming propperly.
-
2 AntwortenI have a near identical hawksaw, it has smallbore instead of rifled barrel. I wouldve rathered to get counterbalance on the pdx so that makes up for the stability you lose but whatever. Full auro is very convenient but its really good because FA raises a hidden fire rate stat
-
1 Antwortenmy NTTE/TSR says yes
-
1 AntwortenAbout your edit: full auto does increase ROF on shotguns.
-
Short answer: no Long answer: noooooooooooooooooo
-
1 AntwortenIt prevents the infamous "gun jamming" problem.
-
2 AntwortenFull auto is great on fast firing pulses or scouts...but only if recoil direction is pretty much straight up and down...if not I would say counterbalance is best...full auto is great because ur finger sometimes won't pull trigger as fast as intended and u lose a little rof....the fastest firing scout and pulses shoot so fast it's crazy...
