You can't generalize an entire genre of music. Just because it doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean it's garbage. Every genre has their gems (which are up for debate obviously) and their duds (usually a lot less up for debate, but still). Take The Beatles, for example. Not everyone enjoys their music, but they're practically universally recognized as one of the greatest bands of all time.
