I want a sci fi that is also fantasy.
Being able to fly in space ships and land on planets. Meet up with players and form a faction. Fight alien races and humans, fight gods and demons. Travel across the universe and make your own story.
I want a game where player actions matter and they effect the world around you. If you take over a bank, you will get money. Or you can start a civil war or a revolution. A game where I can do anything and everything. Fly a space ship with players. Take over space stations and more. Also I want it to get first person.

Sounds like you want a game that is not a game

Good luck. The amount of money needed to fund a game like that would take a major developer. And all major developers now are just money whores sooo best of luck pal.

11 AntwortenSorry this whole thing lacks structure, I was jotting all my ideas down pretty fast so their is probably a few grammar mistakes as well. My dream game is a pirate MMO. It'd have a third person view (similar to black flags) with a optional first person. You could have your own fleet to send off for missions (like black flag again but you can actually see your fleet). You can control all these ships (not at once though). So you could have merchant ships with additional storage but less weapons, or a battleship with the opposite. If you play on hardcore mode and one of your ships is destroyed, it's gone forever. But you will get double rewards for everything in the game. On normal mode your ships will need to be repaired for a certain amount of money (this depends on the ships level and upgrades). On both modes you will lose all crew and loot. Crew are hired from bars, and on rare occasions they'll be legendary crew members. They would be extremely expensive and would be in limited stock (maybe 1/100 of the current amount of players?). These would provide special perks that could make you faster or give extra loot (these like normal crew can be lost). Only 1/10 of the crew can be legendary to avoid OP ships. You can also only have 1 of each legendary crew member. You'd have a base island that can be opted in/out for raids. If you choose to opt out, you cannot raid other islands, which can drop lots of loot. If you choose to opt in you can raid but also be raided. When opting in, you must get defence, which can be bought for various prices depending on their quality, you could also get your ships to defend your island rather than trade it be sent on missions. To get new ships you'd have to scavenge parts from others. You could get more parts from higher level ships. Their would be a huge PvE areas fillies with NPC pirates, different countries boats and merchant ships. Obviously other players could be saw but not fought in the PvE area. Once a week, their will be a "mythic". This is a random sea monster that will spawn in every server at the exact same time. If cannot be activated, it would be completely random. Everyone would be warned 24 hours before so the aren't constantly waiting. Their would also be other events such as huge storms or pirate hunters raiding a certain area. If a pirate hunter raid starts, about 30 players would have to band together to help destroy the hunters, if this doesn't happen the best choice is to escape. The pvp area features some of these events and a few unique ones. In the PvP area other players can attack you. If you are clearly outmatched, you can surrender. This gives away 1/2 of your loot and teleports you to the closest port (these are basically respawn points/fast travel locations). All that is just a cluster-blam!- of ideas I've had for awhile so it's not that well made I guess but oh well, I might as well share it. TK;DR - I WANT A PIRATE MMO!

7 AntwortenThe problem with this is that you have so many mechanics that would need to be perfect on release, so unless you had the largest dream team of design teams, and I mean the dream team, a team that is both larger than any single game team around, and are able to work seamlessly for the minimum of what I could guess is a 5 year design timeframe. If your game were to be released now, it would probably be a mix between the division and no man's sky. The problem with both games is their world scope and design scope are too far apart. Their world scope is large, with sprawling landscapes and interesting areas to explore at the players whim. Their design scope is not suited to their world scope. What do I mean by that? Their world is so large, but there aren't many things to do in it besides the few base mechanics you learn within the first few hours of the games. Now admittedly, I haven't looked into too much of no man's sky, but the one thing that stuck out to me is the quote from the developers saying that there's less than a 1% chance of you seeing another player while exploring, and that it would take the entire player base an obscene amount of time to explore the entire game. While this sounds awesome to the person that would spend hours on end exploring skyrim and the wasteland, I can only imagine it would be boring after not doing anything besides that. Not seeing another player in a multiplayer game doesn't sound like a selling point to me at all.

I want a game where everything is a square and you can build stuff out of those blocks. Kind of like Lego, but a video game
-
Star Citizen is the closest you'll get to it

6 AntwortenHa. All these people saying 'I want' then naming all the perfect mechanics. It won't happen, look at the games that ARE coming out and support those.

Bearbeitet von Asharru: 5/2/2016 6:23:20 PMI'm writing down my fantasy video game, and at the moment, it's stuck in a D&D-type RPG. It consists of over a hundred fictional creatures I've created ((a few based on real-life myths)), various civilized races, 20 bosses and counting, lots of magical abilities, floating rabbit-weasel-cat-like creatures which turn into various types of melee weapons, many unique NPCs to meet along your journeys ((from a narcoleptic knight to a bird person riding a giant turtle)) a conflict between magic and science ((people fighting for science are like laser Nazis)), various enemy factions spanning from witchcraft-using cannibals, deadly feminists, sky pirates, previously mentioned laser Nazis, extra-dimensional armies of metal people, extraterrestrial parasites, and more. Also, dragon gods. I'm not trying to advertise my group, but the thread that shows the lore, creatures, and so on is privateinside of it, so you've got to join it ((you may leave after reading it all over)), and I just want to share my creation with everyone to gather opinions on its pros and cons in order to make it better. By no means do you have to play the RPG to understand the world I've created; just read the threads linked in the thread named The Almanac. 1 AntwortenI used to have dreams. I dreamed of a new Star Wars Battlefront game and then... I'm afraid to dream now...
-
3 AntwortenThat sounds like a wonderful dream. You could probably do a large part of it, but multiple planets would be far-fetched. Multiple continents on a single planet would allow you to have more in game functions then space for areas. Maybe add a few space stations to allow for some small space travel. Though having it be a persistent online world would lead to a lot, I mean a metic ass ton, of overhead.

10 AntwortenBearbeitet von BalinGuatemalen: 5/2/2016 4:37:43 PMI want to see an open world first person dungeon crawler with shooting mechanics like halo (except like 1.5x as fast and like double the jump height plus a double jump) and bio shock (magic in the left hand, guns in the right) and exploration mechanics like zelda. And questing mechanics like fallout. And balanced difficulty and customisable load out and characters and meaningful progression like dark souls. And fun first person puzzles to get through dungeons with truly difficult bosses at the end. Also with build able settlements and a population of like 60 players on the map at a time (but with the option of solo play).. Full in game economy support complete with trading and loot drops. Multiple currency systems for many different vendors. Maybe add an arena area where your load out would be predetermined. Pvp servers. A killer sound track.. Post apocalyptic aesthetic (like in the movie 'Wizards' if you've seen it) with robots and shit. Long-forgotten technology with backstory and a library in whatever hub town you desire to be your hub town.. Plenty of different factions and character races to align yourself as. Etc
dlc would just be expanding the map a shitload every few months. That's my dream game.
3 AntwortenNo Man's Sky Roided Up

My dream game would be the be all and end all of zombie sandbox games. Simulates the outbreak and you can choose the variables such as type of outbreak and time after outbreak, to name just a few. Basically it would be totally customisable. And worldwide.
