If you want to go and see the decaying dead body's of the Nine, they are under the base under the base in the forgotten shore on Earth. You can glitch in almost to them, but so far, once your under the base, you still can't get in the room with them.

Do you mean underneath the entrance to Rasputin's Bunker? I don't remember seeing any bodies there.

And you haven't considered the possibility that the dead bodies are scientists, or workers on the Golden Age Rasputin project? The Nine are still alive, no doubt about that. If they were dead Xur wouldn't show up at the tower to sell items that the Nine don't want.
