About to start Doom 3
So in preparation of the new Doom game coming out, I decided I should actually play at least one in the series. So I went and bought the remastered Doom 3 for 360. (It's backwards compatible on X1)
What should my expectations be?
It came with 1 & 2 as well. I'll play those a little bit but I doubt I'll invest too much time into those.

6 AntwortenDid they just add it to the list? Imma play that shit like right now. You should play the first episode of Doom to get an appreciation for it and for the easter eggs in the new game. Claasic Doom is best played on pc with GZDoom. Doom 3 is something else. It strays from the core gameplay of Doom, which is running around fast and killing everything. Doom 3 tries to be scary with mostly dark indoor environments and monster closets. It's a great game, enough that people stole the alpha back in like 2003 to upload. The alpha was a lot different from the final game. Have fun with it.

1 is a maze-like and will have some keycard problems but should be solid and enjoyable. 2 will be similar. 3 is more of a survival horror. Still solid and fun but you're going to wish you wouldn't have to pull out the flashlight so often.

Doom 3 is more horror. Doom 1&2 are the more fast paced shoot everything style game that doom 4 is gonna be.

If you play 1 & 2 pay no mind to the graphics. The gameplay makes up for it.

Invest more time into the older ones they're closely related to what will be doom 4. Doom 3 is fun, but it's survival horror. Nothing like the new one. I personally think the old dooms are still fun as hell though.
