This post is very long. If you don't have time to read it, just search #Carnil
It's a Vex Strike on Venus. You are tasked with Killing Aphron, True Analyzer. If he lives, the Vex will continuously flow from the past, present, and future.
THIS STRIKE IS NOT EXCLUSIVE TO PLAYSTATION, just sayin
Opening/Loading Text:
"We've intercepted a Vex signal. It's a new Axis Mind. The signal puts us at a very high risk right now. This messenger machine could harm the City if it so pleased, and you know how I am about the City. If this is true, then Aphon could possibly reawaken ancient Vex Portals, sending Vex units of destruction to our gates. Stop this new threat, save the City!" ~ Commander Zavala
You spawn in near the Ishtar Commons, and you must make your way into the Ishtar Academy. There are Vex Gates sprinkled about on your way, and you must shut them down. The longer you wait, the more higher-tier Axis Minds spawn, possibly a farming spot. The Ishtar Academy's door is already open.
You walk in, Ghost says:
"Hmph, crafty little frames. I wonder how they get so many gates up so fast. I probably shouldn't, though..."
"True, we don't have time to inspect enemy technology. At least, not now" ~ Zavala
Again, you must shut down all the Gates. Once this happens, a Vex Gate turns on, this gate is larger than the others.
"Why is this Gate bigger than the others. Is it like a Rupture? Maybe if we..." ~ Ghost
*your Guardian is prompted to step in
"Guardian! Don't-" ~ Zavala
You are taken to Mars, Valley of the Kings. You walk out of the huge Vex Gate that takes you to the Black Garden. Of course, this would (quickly) take you to orbit then to Mars, but with a special modifier that makes you spawn in the Valley of the Kings. This could, possibly take some time.
"-step into that Gate! Wait, are you on Mars? I thought I sent you to Venus." ~ Zavala
"You did, we walked through a Vex Gate and appeared here!" ~ Ghost
*muffled voice, white noise
"Hold on, we're getting something.." ~ Ghost
*silence
*through white noise
"Guardian. Remember me?" ~ Strange Voice
You look around, until you find a point on the over world, like an objective. The objective disappears, a Radio is seen.
"Let's go!" ~ Ghost
You are required to go to the Radio and scan it. The voice comes back.
"...you to defeat the Dark Heart. You should trust me" ~ Strange voice
The player should now know it's the Exo Stranger, she tells your Ghost to mark a location. You go to Cerberus Vae III, the door Tau'arc enters from is now open. You walk through to a new area, Carnil.
"Aphon, True Analyzer, can read Golden Age technology, and report back to the Axis Minds. The Vex would use the Golden Age Tech against us. If you want your City safe, destroy it!" ~ Exo Stranger
Description of Carnil:
Before you enter, you have to travel through a long, winding hallway. Carnil is a Cabal research lab which, at the time, was studying Aphon. Though, while Valus Tau'arc was fighting the Guardian, Aphon got loose of his holds. He slaughtered the Blind Legion soldiers studying him, hence a heap of Cabal carcasses. Aphon, then, set up Gates so he could have backup in case of any intruders (Guardian, Cabal, ect). Carnil has a glass dome-shaped ceiling, like an observatory. Carnil would have 2 Place-down-turret locals and 3 respawning Intercepters, just for fun!
Aphon Battle Mechanics:
Aphon appears out of a cloud, like most Vex units. Aphon is an Axis Hydra. It has a longer-range teleport than most Vex. It also has the ability to summon more Vex at his feet, and can also Contain the Guardian. Halfway through his health, two Confluxes are summoned, if Aphon gets close, he'll be immune until you destroy Harpies named Supplements. These guys explode on kill, so be careful. Supplements are spawned two-at-a-time when Aphon summons Vex Reinforcements. Aphon will only travel to the Confluxes once the Supplements are spawned. At 3/4s health, instead of Supplements, Praetorians start spawning. They do not explode. An extra Conflux is spawned, meaning +1 Praetorian is also spawned in the Vex Cloud at Aphon's feet. There are no more phases, just keep on wailing on Aphon.
*when Aphon dies
"Guardian, you prevented another catastrophe from happening. Good. Great, even. The Vex of Venus and Mars will be crippled with Aphon's destruction." ~ Commander Zavala
Strike Exclusive:
All strikes must have one exclusive in the TTK. So here's Parthenax's.
Aphon's Fury, Legendary Auto Rifle
"...This gun is fit for humanoid figures. Maybe in one timeline..." ~ Unknown Author
Aphon's Fury is a Year 2, white version of Atheon's Epilogue, like the Inago Loop. Inspiration for this comes from Yung Coco, who pointed this out
I had an Idea! If I get, 50 replies I'll write a Grimoire Card for Aphon! And we're halfway! Let's get to it! ~ Lord Shaxx (Morgan from TWD)
Hope you enjoyed!
Edit: I might be pumping this stuff out like sewage pipes, so ideas for anything Destiny related I'll be happy with :)
Edit 2: I felt like there would be an endless flow of Skyrim references to Paarthurnax, so I changed it to Carnil
Edit 3: This post is still being liked?

Sounds a bit too raid like, but I would like a strike with a mechanic like that. Makes it harder.

6 AntwortenWho else read the beginning out in a zavala voice
-
1 AntwortenUgh too long
-
1 AntwortenThis needs to happen.
-
2 AntwortenDon't make every sentence for the opening dialogue start with "this".
-
1 AntwortenHmmmmm...not a bad idea! I would like for the boss battle though you could only use vehicles to kill him
-
1 AntwortenEverytime I read writing like the strike intro you made up, I can HEAR myself cringe.
-
2 AntwortenIf it takes you to orbit, even quickly you lose your vanguard streak

1 AntwortenYou said this post would be long. I am disappointed. Now, I'm going to critizise this. 1: References should never be done simply for the sake of making a reference. The name of the final area does not fit in with the theme of surrounding areas, and the location makes no sense either. A Vex Axis Mind is located in a Cabal Land Tank. Yeah, sure. 2: Please explain why Aphon, whose purpose it seems is to analyse Golden Age technology, is crucial to the Vex's time travel. Atheon was Time's Conflux, and even after the Vault of Glass Raid, has the Vex stopped coming in from all across time? No. Aphon's demise wouldn't change anything. 3: What you're doing, even if you don't realise it, is trying to kill off the Vex. Stopping their time travel would render the power they have useless. Time travelling is the very point of the Vex, the theme that the species is built around. 4: The dialogue. Oh man, the dialogue. It is some of the worst I have read in quite a long time. Zavala is extremely out of character. Most of his lines, if not all, sound like they were spoken by Cayde, and even if Cayde was the "guide" of the Strike, it would still sound ridiculously bad. The Stranger has no reason to ask the Guardian to trust her. You make it sound like the Guardian has suddenly decided to not believe in a character they almost unquestionably followed during the major parts of the vanilla storyline. I can see that you tried to make lines for Ghost that fit in with the current theme, but it just doesn't work. And the intro. The intro is, honestly, just awful. 90% of the sentences begin with "this", making it sound like a ten year old is talking.

1 AntwortenNo offence or anything but this doesn't really sound like a strike it sounds more like a really difficult story mission, I mean when was the last time a strike had cut scenes??
-
2 AntwortenSounds absolutely awesome! The only thing is that all Vex strike bosses seem to be Hydras. How about a Cabal body adapted by Aphon where he has morfed into a taken Cabal while testing the rule's of the Taken's immune system or something.

Before the update they should release a strike or a mission or two to lead us into the dlc release this fall

Interesting. I'm looking forward to the lore.
