I've watched more anime than I can remember. (since 88-89?) For me, the older anime has the best storylines and more effort put into them, though some of the early 2000s had me pretty hooked as well. My favorites are school rumble, ah! My goddess, ranma (for the 'ride'. Takahashi slapped us in the face at the end), golden boy, compiler, tekkamen blade, macross plus, gundam wing, and too much more but those are at the top lol.

I started watching Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Four episodes in. The original movie is amazing. It's my favorite anime movie and one of my top ten movies of all time. The series though, is just ok so far. It seems more like political drama/thriller than the movie, which was big on philosophical questions of what it means to be alive. I hope the series goes into that at some point.

3 AntwortenI'm a very avid anime watcher although I only share that information with my closest friends and parents. Mainly because I was a military brat and was raised somewhat in japan. I wasn't really into anime much as a kid. Well besides DBZ and Gundam while it was airing. But I was into reading advanced Light Novels. After reading certain light novels and loving them so much I started to watch anime. This having me develop into an avid anime watcher. Out of all the animes in the world my top 5 are what I found to be cleverly written masterpieces. 5. [b]Yahari Ore no seishun love come wa machigatteru [/b] - A very Philosophical and prestigious light novel series with a stellar and almost accurate anime adaptation. If you're into deeper drama orientated school life anime. This the one. 4. [b]Clannad[/b] (Or Irish for Family) - This is the only anime to truly make me she'd a single man tear. Which means a lot because this anime is really orientated strongly on interpersonal relationships and the value of family. The character development is so strong and growing with these characters throughout the 2 seasons is what makes this a good anime adaptation. 3. [b]Welcome to the NHK[/b] -This anime is such a treat if you're into conspiracy theories. The drama and character communication as well as the development is what makes this anime shine. 2. [b]Durarara [/b] -Similar to Welcome to the NHK. This anime also dwindles on conspiracy theories. However it adds more of a supernatural/action twist that really incorporates well into it. 1. [b]Code Geass[/b] -This one is number 1 for me because for one I love mechas ever since Gundam 08th Ms team. Also the philosophical messages and devices throughout the anime are so cleverly plucked in. Not only that I'm a suckered for a smart protagonist who acts as the antagonist. At first it's like watching a cliche future school life anime then 7 episodes later you're watching a whole different show. Give this one a watch of you want action/psychology/supernatural stuff.
