I see a lot of people arguing that elemental primaries promoted less loadout variety. I disagree. I had a lot more variety in my arsenal in Year 1 than I do now, where the solution to everything is the Hung Jury.
Elemental damage was never overpowered. It was only good for burns and enemy shields of the same type. Not game breaking, but it gave certain weapons a purpose. Like my old void Jewel of Osiris I never would have used otherwise with its average perks. They should never have removed that extra variable that people like to have on certain loadouts.
Lets put it this way, if Bungie added a solar hand cannon, arc pulse rifle, and void scout rifle to the Challenge of Elders, do you think people wouldn't want to add them to their arsenal?

3 AntwortenI hate the elemental primaries thing... I didn't always use VoC and FateBringer because they had burns... I simply used them because their stats and perks were better than any other gun. Compare VoC to Doom of Chelchis or whatever and it will explain everything.

2 AntwortenPretty much everything. Old raids, old guns, old perks, elemental weapons, all gone for no reason. Gjallarhorn, Ice Breaker, elemental weapons, weapon perks that don't suck, all gone. Old strikes, all gone. Old raids, both gone. Ascending weapons, which made any reward obtained usable at endgame, gone. Old story missions, gone. Honestly, just think about what this game was when you started. What missions you did, what strikes you played, what weapons you used, what perks you looked for, how the raid(s) were played. All of that is gone. All of the things that we fell in love with in the first place have been taken away for absolutely no reason.

Couldn't agree more on the fvcking class item cosmetics, I'm so tired of wearing an ugly ass cloak. It should be for LOOKS like a cosmetic is meant for not added to the shitty new light system.

Yeah destiny started going downhill for me the moment they took Elemental Primaries out. That was my main purpose for grinding.

It would be far better to bring them back and simply add more enemies with shields. Be it the weaker enemies or what have you.

Not exactly saying it was hard, but just the added thrill of possibly being sent back to orbit made it all that much more exciting. I understand Bungie wanting everyone to be able to enjoy Destiny, hence the need to want to make things more forgiving but where's the challenge for the more dedicated player? COE? Heroic Raids? Not even.... And I don't mean make shit harder by making every enemy a bullet sponge and multiplying the amount of them by 10... I mean make the task more difficult. Make us care about NOT dying...

I am so salty about the field scout change.... My yr1 Shadow Price was absolutely godly with it, Rangefinder, Life Support and a choice between Field Scout, Perfect Balance and Armor Piercing Rounds...... It had a 42 bullet magazine and it fired like a laser beam..... SO MAD BUNGO!...................... But I finally got my yr2 Shadow Price, it's not a god roll like my original, but I love it anyway :D

the only primary i use now is dead orbits firefly hung jury. but in year 1 i had a whole collection of awesome elemental primaries that i would use for different situations and nightfall burns. Vision of confluence, scholar adept, fang of ur yut, messenger adept.. the only reason i used to go flawless in trials year 1 was for the elemental primary adepts.. as soon as they removed them i stopped going flawless.. the loot just isnt worth it.
