Effective Sniping Requires: Mobility, a steady hand, good hand-eye coordination, and superb aim.
Effective Shotgunning Requires: Situational Awareness, Quick Reactionary time, and the ability to prioritize targets.
Now let me say this, I'm not saying shotgunning is harder then sniping. The average sniper is better then an average shotgunner. But a good shotgunner is definitely better then most snipers.
Sniping isn't as easy as it looks, but you have to look at a few things.
If you put a sniper at one end of the smaller hallway and a group of 4 on the other, a good sniper would have no problem taking them out 9/10 times that situation happens.
Now
If you put a shotgunner in a room with multiple exits with four enemies around him, they have to worry about a few things.
1. How many enemies are here
2. What equipment do I have to help me survive
3. Which enemy is closest, and which presents the biggest threat.
4. Is there anyway to get out of this alive, if not, how many can I take down.
Now before people attack me saying I posted this because I can't snipe, I usually play on striker titan, and shotguns compliment the class well, also because titan skating is extremely effective once learned. (As seen here https://youtu.be/3zuv1awyl0w)
Because the amount of hatemail I get for titan skating up to people at 100 MPH and sticking the barrel of my shotty down thier throat is ridiculous. (No I don't use Juggernaut, Shoulder Charge builds up way to much speed for me not to use it, I dont tank the shots, I just move fast enough to disorient people)
Basically, in terms of learning curve.
Good Sniper > Good Shotgunner > Average Sniper > Average Shotgunner

2 AntwortenLol, I used to shotgun, this is completely untrue, a shotgun you can point blank shoot reliably, sniping gets plenty of flinch, and requires tons of timing, with shotgunning you can reliably one shot, when you shotgun you can easily sneak up on someone, especially with the lag on radar right now, and a shotgun we can go willy nilly, completely unaware, he can still get multiple kills, shotgunning does take skill for a VERY good shotgun, but those are far and between

Why did you compare the sniper in a 1v1 and then the shotgunner in a 1v4 situation with people coming from all around him? One of these in clearly harder than the other just based off how many enemies are around.
-
So why do you have a 15% precision kill ratio with snipers??? And that's INCLUDING PvE.... Nice try.

I agree with your points, but this is comparing two completely different skillsets. "Which one is harder," will depend upon the individual's ability to grasp the required skills. Some will have a super easy time learning how to shotgun, and vice versa.

1 AntwortenYou can't compare it like that. A sniper with his enemies at the end of the hall way. That's like saying a shotgunner has 4 players running one behind another at you a good shotgunner will kill those 4 people because one by one he will kill them. You're making two different scenarios. The shotgun reference is like saying. There's 3 sniper lanes and you're in one of them and there's 4 snipers, 2 snipers on 1 lane, one on the other and one on the last one. That's more like what you're trying to get at. You can't compare things when you're not correlating them.
