Last Word still op
Bungie,
The last word problem doesn't have to deal with the perk giving 2 tap kills. The problem is with a gun with that much stopping power, fire rate, and it's perks on top of it will always make it an op weapon unless u drastically change it.
First off, I'm not saying nerf every component of it that I listed above. Simply reduce the fire rate quite a bit, or reduce the impact quite a bit. With doing either of these things you will have a gun that will either shoot at the same speed but have way less damage per hit. On the other hand u will have a gun with slower fire rate, but still the same impact. Doing either of these things will make the time to kill more balanced. For example, first curse, super low fire rate but very powerful shots.
Then add in its perks giving lots of hip fire stability and more damage from hip, on top of what I listed above with fire rate and impact, it's never gonna be right unless u make a drastic change in one of the fields listed above.
On top of all this, it's range stat is still an illusion. How can a gun with a sliver of range still hit 75 a headshot from the same distance as hawkmoon, yet hawkmoon has miles more range. We arent talking close quarters either in this scenario, im talking over 200ft and the thing still hits as hard if not more than its competitors with miles more range. It's a complete cluster f***.
It seems the only way to fix it is to lower one of the two things I listed above, fix the range illusion, and tweak hip fire stability a bit. Every single one of those things combined as they sit right now, still make it an op weapon. Maybe not as op as year 1, but it's still a major issue that's gone on for close to 2 years and that's a problem. Just my two cents.

Bearbeitet von BxL3G1T: 4/19/2016 3:12:39 PMIt's range is pretty bad. I will admit that most maps are small, and it's fairly easy to close gaps using TLW before getting killed. That said I think it's fine as is, it's a niche gun, if you're killed within that niche, then just move on and make sure to engage further away next time, almost all other weapons have a faster ttk at mid range. Also, the clip size is so small, you're realistically only getting one kill per reload unless you hit a couple headshots and don't miss any.

I barely use this gun in Y2 but seriously I'm starting to think that people want to remove exotics completely from the game. I understand your points but for me exotics are supposed to stick out from every other gun or armour. Stats also. IMO

It is supposed to punish rushers. Leave the gun alone. Without this gun, you will always lose to a Shotgun in crucible.

"People have been getting good with getting headshots with The Last Word". Dick move Bungie. People can adapt. Let them get good with a gun. Just because people get good with it means nothing. It's an exotic, not a ledgendary. If it wasn't exotic, the nerf would be more reasonable..

The range on it is crap. It is meant for close to medium ranges. If you are getting too close or can not win a primary fight, I can see why you think it is OP. Multi Tool, now that exotic is a beast. (Not Op)

Is it op? I think not... But I do think a guardian who has mastered this weapon, becomes a killing machine and good for him!!! Not everyone can use that good including me. When thorn was a monster I never used it. Because will I suck at hand cannons. Bungie keeps on punishing players that master the weapons they have created! It is not op and never was. An op weapon is one that everyone can equip and use. Not everyone and you can agree use the last word!

The gun isn't anywhere near as lethal as it used to be and is not overpowered. Why do you people make these posts like you're speaking for the community? You're not, just because you can't handle something doesn't mean it's the world wide norm. The gun is fine, it's filling it's role as a close quarters tool just right. You shouldn't expect to win a 1v1 against it in close quarters. That's what it's designed to do, win 1v1 battles in tight places. You need to look at your own play style and adapt accordingly. If you're up against a team of snipers would you blindly run out in a open clearing and really expect to not get sniped? Same logic when fighting against people using TLW don't run blindly around cramped quarters and be aware of your surroundings. More thinking and less crying children.

Uhm...the gun is still made for close combat. A fusion rifle will wreck his face. Long range scout and pulse does short work. And docterine can still take it out. If enemy is not hip firing. So yeah... just leaving it here. It's a great gun. But ttk isn't all that great when there are so many other great weapons out there that can dual this gun now

Give me a break, it really isn't. No bonus damage, you now basically have to aim. It has bad range, bad impact. It will always pair with a sniper very well because it's good at close range. Any range weapon will win against it
