Those who buy sterling packages are setting a precedent for the future!
To those buying 20 to 40 dollars of sterling shit. You are actually killing this game and the franchise.
$20 used to get a raid, a bunch of guns, new exotics and a few story missions.
Bungie now sees how much you pay for trivial crap like a full set of armor and says to themselves. If they are willing to pay that much for a chance at reskinned armor set, we can get at least $60 for a ttk sized expansion and $30 to $35 for a dark below sized dlc.
Even if 3/4 of the remaining population doesn't buy these boxes, it will happen.
Buying armor is here to stay, now it's just a point of what they will sell next.

The content itself is just 95% reskins with a couple of new armor pieces. They knew all the impatient 12 year old minions that play this game would drop $50+ the first day on the treasure boxes just to get a full set of the new Taken armor and that is all they cared about. The $$$$ from Eververse that was supposed to fund the live team for "free" updates like this goes in their pockets and the pockets of their shareholders while the "new" content they provide is just lazy reskinning of old stuff from Year 1. It was utterly shameful to see how excited they were in the streams and vidocs for this update and how proud of themselves they were for calling this "new" content. There are F2P mmos and other games with 1/100th of Bungie's budget and resources that put out massive "free" updates multiple times a year. Bungie does it once in a 2 year span and wants a huge pat on the back for basically reskinning content and game modes, while also putting an emphasis on microtransactions for progression and obtaining gear. The problem is that nothing will change, because they have a large enough group of diehards who will white knight and defend them to the death, including a bunch of sellout youtubers who would never dare speak ill of them. They see the sales from silver that come in daily and with this "update" they probably made more in silver sales than they did from DB/HOW DLC just from idiots who wanted a full Taken set 2 hours after the update launched. SMH.

Pathetic idiots valuing a couple sets of armour as $60+. Seriously? You think a couple sets of armour are valued the same as an entire game No wonder gaming is going down the drain. Pathetic. Dude, this is the only game I have time to play being married with 2 kids. I enjoy the hell out of it, I work 60 hours a week and if I wanna splurge and throw a 50 at the screen for purely cosmetic items then I'm gonna.

I agree with you. I remember a time when Micro-transactions were heavily frowned upon and now everyone has grown complacent with them. They literately takes the life out of games and shows the company that they can be lazy with content. Best example here is Dead Space 3, most of the optional areas were copy pasted (same looks, designs, and layouts) and were may be given a few items or doors that made each area ever so slightly different. Not to mention you could pretty much get the best weapon at the start of the game by paying for parts, mind you this was a non-competitive game. Now we get to Destiny and it is kinda going the same way. Just look at the April update. There was so much they could have done with Malok and tracking him down. Instead we got one new mission that lasted all of 2 minutes, and a new strike which was basically a taken version of "The Shrine of Oryx" Mission. The taken gear could have even been part of a unique quest (sword and shotgun included), but what did they do instead? Cram the gear into a box and charge people for it. It literately is the least effort for the most profit.

Actually wrong.hear me out. Activision wants this crap in all its games. The devs are given a set amount that they HAVE to make. If people don't buy them they will keep adding until you have to. Look at bo3. There's weapons now. You have two legit choices, either everyone stops playing or we turn it into a joke. I mean roast em, torture them do whatever it takes to ruin the name of the game.

4 AntwortenI think you guys fail to understand that microtransactions exist in every single RPG and MMO. Hell, even FPS's have microtransactions. Look at BF4, it's basically P2W, but it's a fun game and the devs still provide.
