Destiny is an action game, more than an RPG. Which is good.
Basing a game around DPS is poor design.

Dps isn't everything though

Some games, it is.

Agreed. The division is a trash rpg because it heavily focuses on dps. It has some skill power builds that can be helpful. But there is no such tank with the current set up. Mainly cause you can't get your health crazy high and nor can you make AI agro on you.
-
I've seen a few tank builds so does that make your statement incorrect?
-
What would you qualify as a tank build? What are the stats? I just want tanks to have some way of taking agro and to have more health.
-
I've seen builds spec'd with crazy armor like 150k and can eat bullets all day, it's not my playstyle so I didn't really care how he did it but I have seen it... I think the game does q poor job of explaining how to maximize your builds

So I have 142k health with max mitigation and also reduced shock, bleed, and burn. But in order to get 150k health I have to sacrafice armor. My question/point is that it's near impossible to get 150k health with max armor. Where as my friend can have 342k dps lol. It just seems like dps is what the game focuses on. My current build though is 168k dps and 110k health. This is with no glitches though.

How long did it take a shotgunner -blam!- him. 2 seconds instead of 1?
-
Not in pve dude
-
What does PvE have to do with anything? The baseline for your character in the Division is like 100k DPS minimum, which isn't that hard to get (but the grind in that game is absolutely awful for getting the right rolls) and the game is 95% PvE.

In destiny dps does matter in pve
-
Yeah but it's impossible to calculate or estimate it and we don't treat it as a raw statistic.

mmos do it all the time
