I understand the issue of 2-shot crit killing someone on a fully automatic hand cannon. However the gun does require a skilled hand to consistently train hip fire shots on someone. Especially when mid-air, or on moving targets.
The gun has 8 bullets, I'd say its fairly difficult to kill 2 full health enemies with the same clip, even with bonus hip fire damage.
Removing the hip fire damage, this is near impossible now. Even if you hit every shot, wielders are going to get mowed down by the Doctrine, regardless of that weapon's nerf. I should be rewarded for training hip fire last word shots on someone when that bullethose of a weapon rewards anyone with a terrible potato aim.
The only way this bonus hip fire damage can be compensated for is by increasing the mag from 8 to 10. I'm an avid TLW user, I'm pretty -blam!-ing experienced with it. And I'm telling everyone right now, the gun is gonna be nuisance to use successfully. Unless you can train headshots only, be prepared to be completely outgunned by DoP.
Not a justified nerf IMO.
Rip TLW after April 12th, nice job Bungie. Keep destroying perfectly fine weapons.
Edit:
Exactly as i expected, everyone who posted who was glad for the nerf is your typical doctrine wielder. When no other primaries compete with Doctrine and the good players actually start using it and bullethose nothing but crits, Bungie will destroy that weapon too. But enjoy your time now that they give you scrubs.

You do know that fast RoF auto rifles like the DoP are getting a well sized nerf
-
Some of you still suck even with OP weapons! Reminds me of getting hate mail by kids using thorn because I was using TLW (YR 1) and -blam!- them. Just because a lot of you suck doesn't mean we (the good/decent players) should suffer. Bunch of babies, grow a pair!

So? It'll still be one of the fastest killing weapons in the game.
inb4 OP whined for nerfs in the past, got what he wanted, and now doesn't want it.

*falls on the ground because his crutch is gone*
2 AntwortenNot a justified nerf? Lmaooo

4 AntwortenLol did you play destiny in HoW? TLW was broken

"Keep destroying perfectly fine weapon" LOL

3 AntwortenI don't get everyones mind set. They wanna make exotics less powerful so legendary weapons compete with them. Whats the point of exotics then? Tlw is powerful ill give it that but takes more skill then people give it credit for. I've fired whole clips and only hit someone once. That gun seriously fires blanks randomly and I'm a decent shot with it. I play with a guy who's strictly used tlw since he got it. He is amazing with it and idk how many times hes pulled out wins for us but even he experiences the random blanks. I think the problem is people get to close and expect to outgun a weapon made for close range engagements.

RIP Thorn

I own both. I've used both extensively. TLW is too much for the TTK of other weapons right now. It will not destroy the weapon, it will not make it unusable. People like you love to bitch and moan because you're getting your 2-3 shot crutch weapon what it deserves. TLW has been a META weapon for over a year now, and I'm glad for the change. Try using a Hawkmoon and then try to complain. At least that weapon required aiming.
-
While I'm not a tlw fan since it was overused because of the highest ttk potential , it seemed decently fine in the stream. Remember these are bungie employees using the weapons so you won't see the absolute best coming from the gun . Also from what I saw even though the damage was dropped it was still dropping fast , just needs a bit more skill.

Yea but its a year 1 weapon suck it up

The Last Word requires a fair amount of practice to "Git gud" with as the kids say. A couple weeks ago, I decided to pick it up from the Exotic Kiosk and have been using it fairly consistently since. It helped me finish off Shaxx Weekly Crucible Quest Line and started my First Curse Hand Cannon kills quest. I am, by no means, an expert or even a good PvPer. But The Last Word IS easy mode once you train yourself to control the Hip Fire and start being relatively accurate. I've seen a noticeable rise in my KD since using TLW. Not that that says much really about my KD to begin with but I feel like, as I've gotten better with TLW, my KD has gone up more than any other weapon prior. Does that mean it's OP? I, personally, don't think so. I don't think it needed a nerf. I still get outgunned at range by Mida and most Pulse rifles. Doctrine will shred me if I don't get the first shot off. The Last Word is very good at its intended use. An up close shredder. Maybe the range could've been tweaked further to emphasize this. I know I've landed a few kill shots I didn't think I had a chance at. I don't think removing the Hip Fire damage bonus is gonna hurt it THAT much though. It'll still fire faster and hit harder than most everything else up close.

6 AntwortenI think it will be refreshing to not see it as often in crucible. It's been a strong gun for over a year now, time for some fresh blood.
-
2 AntwortenI'll see you again my friend when people b*tch about the future two shot kill heavy pulse rifles.
-
Lol good. Scrubs have been using that thing for over a year
-
No one on here is worthy of the last word except Jaren Ward and Shin Malphur you should all dismantle yesss.
-
5 AntwortenI love how absolutely no one agrees with you. Your post just shows how OP it is and how balanced it will be after the update.

I don't use tlw like I did during HoW, but I think it is in a good place now. The 2.0 patch ruined it and at least the 2.1 patch made it more viable again. This weapon is far from what it was before 2.0 dropped. I only get downed by this weapon at close ranges and if I get downed at ranges beyond it is due to team fire. I am curious, I bet a lot of players would claim this happens but I do not remember seeing tlw 2 shot kill full armor opponents with hip fire, not even the streamers that use the weapon to it's full capabilities.

1 AntwortenI aim with TLW and still wreck shop. The nerf won't do much.
-
1 AntwortenA side arm probably gonna outshoot it now

PRISON OF ELDERS...currently doing level 32.. Then 34 and 35... Wanna join up? GT same as above

I'm happy it's gone. And I'm glad doctrine is getting it's nerd too. Fúck both those guns, they're talentless.

Speaking as someone whose ass has been torn apart by TLW it does take skill, regardless of the opinions you all might have, to retrain yourself to accurately hipfire. TLW demanded that you completely relearn the concept of aiming and adhere to its own rules. For that reason alone no one is justified in saying "hurr durr takes no skill durr" if that were the case why isn't your k/d immediately boosted just by using tlw? Because like everything else you need to LEARN the weapon to use it effectively. Friggin whiners are the bane of this community

5 AntwortenLast Owrd is difficult to use
