I understand the issue of 2-shot crit killing someone on a fully automatic hand cannon. However the gun does require a skilled hand to consistently train hip fire shots on someone. Especially when mid-air, or on moving targets.
The gun has 8 bullets, I'd say its fairly difficult to kill 2 full health enemies with the same clip, even with bonus hip fire damage.
Removing the hip fire damage, this is near impossible now. Even if you hit every shot, wielders are going to get mowed down by the Doctrine, regardless of that weapon's nerf. I should be rewarded for training hip fire last word shots on someone when that bullethose of a weapon rewards anyone with a terrible potato aim.
The only way this bonus hip fire damage can be compensated for is by increasing the mag from 8 to 10. I'm an avid TLW user, I'm pretty -blam!-ing experienced with it. And I'm telling everyone right now, the gun is gonna be nuisance to use successfully. Unless you can train headshots only, be prepared to be completely outgunned by DoP.
Not a justified nerf IMO.
Rip TLW after April 12th, nice job Bungie. Keep destroying perfectly fine weapons.
Edit:
Exactly as i expected, everyone who posted who was glad for the nerf is your typical doctrine wielder. When no other primaries compete with Doctrine and the good players actually start using it and bullethose nothing but crits, Bungie will destroy that weapon too. But enjoy your time now that they give you scrubs.

Bearbeitet von AMC_07: 4/11/2016 12:38:56 AMI'd like to say this, as you've pointed out it is hard enough to get two kills without team shotting. But honestly, I don't think it will be any different if you land the shots like you would without the damage buff. I understand the frustration, and truthfully I think a slight buff to reload speed would help it. Also, doctrine is getting an impact nerf as well, so don't think it will be as effective as it is now either.

2 AntwortenYour argument about losing to doctrine I disagree with. Tlw requires less aiming precision because it's hip fired, and since you are hip firing you also have more movement speed. This nerf is long overdue. It makes no sense for a gun to have bonus hipfire accuracy AND damage. It makes everything about it better than any other cqc gun
-
3 AntwortenI'm glad to see it go because I hated the gun itself. And you can check I don't even nor care to get the doctrine. I use mainly hand canons and scouts.
-
So are they adding target acquisition in place of dmg? if they make headshots more consistent it might not be so bad you think?.
-
4 AntwortenIf the hit detection worked right on hand cannons, this nerf would be fine. But.. That's not the case.
-
Good, I hate that gun.
-
You haven't even used the updated version. Wait a few days then make a statement

Hawk moon and fusion rifles are my go to set up in PvP

Meh... I don't care. I prefer weapons like mida, or the Lyudmila.
-
Nerf to Doctrine MIDA TLW... Seems fair
-
And what about me? I don't even have doctrine and I'm ready to see TLW burn in hell. Oh, and you should definitely refer to my previous reply to this sad excuse for a post.
-
16 AntwortenI don't own a doctrine. TLW doesn't take skill, it is meant to not be aimed and to spray and pray. R.I.P. Your crutch
-
Let it BURN!
-
Lol when op realizes all the comments pretty much say "good use a real gun"
-
4 AntwortenThe learning curve for the gun is so low, as it was landing consistent hip fire shots is so easy.
-
As a shotgunner in a way I'm glad but that doesn't mean it needed a nerf at all. The gun was fine but now it's essentially the new year 1 necrochasm. Ironic how sunsingers were untouched though.....

-
Ironically enough... It won't. Go figure

-
That's a nice thousand yard/last word combo you've got there. You've had your fun. Come, take a seat with us Thorn users and wait for our time to come again.
-
We'll see what happens when the update hits but I'm confident that TLW frequent users will continue to get kills with it, particularly if they don't go lone wolf. They'll steal a few kills from teammates and vice-versa. As for Doctrine, let Bungie nerf it all they want. Won't bother me at all. I'm sure people will just switch back to Suros, Red Death, or something else.
-
Yea then it will receive a buff shortly after.
-
1 AntwortenNo one told you that DoP is getting nerfed as well? Or do you just have tunnel vision and you're mad about your crutch that's been OP for close to a year now?

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Appelfeller42: 4/10/2016 7:04:17 PMIts okay ill chance from tlw to suros and tear doctrine users a new one.

You do know that fast RoF auto rifles like the DoP are getting a well sized nerf
