I understand the issue of 2-shot crit killing someone on a fully automatic hand cannon. However the gun does require a skilled hand to consistently train hip fire shots on someone. Especially when mid-air, or on moving targets.
The gun has 8 bullets, I'd say its fairly difficult to kill 2 full health enemies with the same clip, even with bonus hip fire damage.
Removing the hip fire damage, this is near impossible now. Even if you hit every shot, wielders are going to get mowed down by the Doctrine, regardless of that weapon's nerf. I should be rewarded for training hip fire last word shots on someone when that bullethose of a weapon rewards anyone with a terrible potato aim.
The only way this bonus hip fire damage can be compensated for is by increasing the mag from 8 to 10. I'm an avid TLW user, I'm pretty -blam!-ing experienced with it. And I'm telling everyone right now, the gun is gonna be nuisance to use successfully. Unless you can train headshots only, be prepared to be completely outgunned by DoP.
Not a justified nerf IMO.
Rip TLW after April 12th, nice job Bungie. Keep destroying perfectly fine weapons.
Edit:
Exactly as i expected, everyone who posted who was glad for the nerf is your typical doctrine wielder. When no other primaries compete with Doctrine and the good players actually start using it and bullethose nothing but crits, Bungie will destroy that weapon too. But enjoy your time now that they give you scrubs.

Stop crying ya baby

No way last word should be nerfed. I don't understand how people think it takes skill to use it or hip fire. They should probably nerf it more, the hip fire was never the problem.
-
Good. Thorn and tlw need to go.
-
Ummm that's the point. They don't want you to use it , there fore, they are gonna ruin it. You will use what they say you use
-
I'm honestly pretty happy about its nerf. It would be nice to have some variety. It's been heavily used for way to long. It was very strong in year one and year two. I wouldnt even care if something just as powerful replaced it, I would like variety. Make some other weapons just as strong.
-
Isn't that how all of Bungie nerfs work though?

4 AntwortenTLW getting nerfed is great news for anyone that has regularly played crucible for the past two years (especially Trials!) With this update, the cheap (and dirty) 'TLW and 1KYS' spam fest combo will finally be at an end. Remember that Doctrine and Mida are getting nerfed too, before you get your panties too bunched up; which is again good news and will remove (or at least significantly reduce) the 'holy trinity' of primary weapons populating almost every Trials match.
-
Guess you'll have to learn to use a weapon that isn't a 2 hit kill. Damn the bad luck!
-
Thank god, I'm getting sick of basically every match being dominated by last word
-
Its not that we are full of doctrine scrubs, thats why the gun is being nerfed in the first place. Its more of, last word is too versatile. As in, you can destroy at range and up close, making the first curse look bad. Maybe you're the scrub who is salty/worried that the last word is being nerfed. Even then the gun still looks really good by the looks of the gameplay from last Tuesday's stream. Enjoy your nerfed yet powerful weapon scrub

I've been wanting for TLW to be nerfed into oblivion for nearly 9 months now, glad to see that they have started to move in the right direction. It is too easy to get kills with from cqb to mid range, it shouldn't be able to kill at a longer range than a fusion rifle while using primary ammo at a quicker speed, Pick a different gun and stop sweating so hard that you need to buy a new controller due to water damage each week. Enjoy

Tlw should stay in year 1 with thorn and the ice breakers. They finally fix that fuc king weapon. Tlw deserve the nerf same for the snipers

Bearbeitet von swampNinja20: 4/11/2016 5:42:05 AMI think the precision damage should have stayed the same but they really needed to reduce the range....it's stats are such a lie it says it has minimum range and still kills people outside auto rifle range
-
Good riddance.

8 AntwortenGit gud, my guy.

I hate tlw as a shotguner, but i think it actually needed a range buff. Seriously, it would enter outperform shotties if shotties were so underwhelming

The weapon is already ruined

I have a feeling the new meta is most likely going to be suros and spare change. But on topic name one weapon that can hold its own against tlw at close or even short medium range if they land headshots? Nothing. A good tlw can even out gun a hmg. While I don't believe removing the crit bonus was the right solution, lets be honest the gun is very over powered. If anything I think they should of reduced the range on it. I think tlw was perfect when update 2.0 hit. An absolute monster at close range. But at medium and farther you were in trouble. It's just a shame that every other hand cannon pretty much got broken at 2.0 or it might of stayed that way.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von RingersCheckmate: 4/11/2016 4:37:42 AMI can't say I'm sad to see the weapon ruined, neither can I say I use a doctorine of passing. I'm more of a hung jury and cocytus kind of guy,

Shameless doctrine user here. I am 100% against this last word nerf. It's going to destroy the gun.
-
6 AntwortenWell i dont like the nerf either but just like when the first nerf hit, the avid TLW users will continue using it and dominate. I dont plan on ever leaving my TLW no matter how hard they nerf it.

Watch everybody bitch about suros and the 2 headshot pulse rifles on april 12th. Theres always gonna be something that people complain about in crucible. Learning how to deal with it is always the best solution. Theres always a counter for everything.
-
All i want is to see weapon diversity among all players, and maybe this will help change that. Again, we haven't played it yet, so maybe its for the best.
-
I have resorted to the hawkmoon. Started playing with it this week on my usual bladedancer setup and it's going to be my go to after tommorow
-
Thank god, if there was one son of a bitch that needed nerfing into nothingness it was that piece of shit.
