Imagine Destiny without PvP for a moment.
Imagine what it would be like. Imagine the kind of community we'd have. Imagine who would be here, and who would not be here. (The influential people like mtashed.).
I'm kinda curious what you would think it would be like. And I think we already know we wouldn't have all the PvP complainers.

Edit: No PvP would mean they focus more on PvE, which means more content.
Edit2: It was brought up that PvP killed Defiance too. And they're completely right. Everything was nerfed into the ground because of the PvP community, which in turn killed PvE. They eventually just nerfed all damage by 60% in PvP.
Edit3: People saying it would be dead. I would have to disagree, there are a lot of games that focus on PvE and they do great. I know Destiny is a little different but it's still the same concept.

3 AntwortenSo you're saying Destiny's pve.. as is.. and only the pve... as the only content of the game... for 10 years. I don't understand how anyone can have that much of a problem dealing with the bots in pve after a weapon patch. They're bots. They literally stand there and let you shoot them.

Destiny's pvp was good when the game was released. They have done everything in their power to turn it into the shit show it is today. And there was actually more content (maps) or at least more diverse maps then there are today. I have not step foot in the iron banner in about a year. And before that, I would play a match, see that pvp is still shit, and just go back to pve or play a game from a developer that knows pvp. This isn't the same Bungie that made halo, those talented developers have all moved to different companies.

The game would be dead without PvP. It's what keeps the game afloat during the long times between content updates. A lack of PvP wouldn't increase the frequency of PvE content updates. Especially considering they don't even make new PvP content (very rarely). Weapon balancing is not that time consuming of a change.

Or if they had made crucible with its own weapon/armor system completely separate from pve, things would be easier to patch.

I think if destiny had no PvP at this point in time, player base numbers would be loooooow. There's not enough content to keep a pve player engaged and interested. The game is really falling off. Hope the update is worth it.

6 AntwortenTo me the crucible is the only thing in destiny that won't have the exact same moment twice. In pve, you'll eventually come to the point where you know exactly when and where the enemies will come out, the sequence of the activity and will most probably be the same thing next time you do it. In pvp, there will always be a variation going on. Diff people, diff loadout, diff subclass so on and so forth. I suck in pvp but i still find it fun to do. [b]This is just my opinion.[/b]
