It's not a giant middle finger. It's worse. It's indifference. These changes today detail exactly how they don't care how any balancing effects pve, and so shows they don't care about pve players.
Pve players aren't the ones salting your fries at lunch. Pve players have only started being obnoxious when there was no content in months. Other than that, we've been minding our own business.
Yet, we're the ones punished every time you try to balance PvP. Why? Because you don't change just PvP, you make global changes because once more you've shown yourselves to be too lazy to discuss PvP only changes or too incompetent to figure it out.
Oh I'm sure I'll play when the new content drops, but I will entirely reevaluate whether you deserve my money come fall.
Edit: to those saying, how does this drastically change pve? My main bone of contention is when they answered the question about pvp balances effecting pve. They said, "they didn't want drastically different experiences" or something along those lines...
Hello??? They are drastically different experiences! Pve and pvp are no where near the same experience. They seriously just should have said that it's too much work to separate the changes, which is the absolute truth, which again shows either their incompetence to create a system to balance pvp without effecting pve OR their lack of funds to pay more people to do it OR their laziness to put in the effort OR some combination of the above.
Edit 2: one of the better points to arise from this discussion is that they say they want the same experience and so refuse to separate balance changes. However, they never use pve stats when announcing changes...only pvp. Pvp are flat out driving changes that effect pve. This doesn't sound like a joined experience...
Edit 3: since a lot of people are missing the point... It's not that the latest changes will make things impossibly hard. It's the whole idea that they wont change pvp ONLY.

142 AntwortenBearbeitet von Kaziklu Bey: 4/7/2016 9:16:20 PMLet's just put it this way..I only have two statements. Probably going to get a lot of hate for it, but what the hell. Number -blam!-ing 1.) Crucible/PvP has caused literally 90% of the nerfs to happen...They pretty much all end badly as well. Not to mention that PvE players get it worst since they have to put up with this COD morphing games bullshit. Number 2.) PvP is much easier content to manage, it doesn't require character development, no huge DLC, an event here and there that gives good drops, and is easy to copy from COD or Halo. In my sole opinion, I think PvP is ruining this game. That's it, I know people are going to bitch at me. But I am 100% sure people will back me up on this. ~TheOkayNike Going to make this a topic now, figured it's getting good support right now....Should let it be heard more.

28 AntwortenYou guys really ought to compare this to other games. What game (besides games like WoW, Skyrim and fallout) have a year and a half to two year life span where they're PvE content is concerned? CoD and AC drop a title EVERY year to try to stay relevant. Did any of us play Halo campaign for two years? No, we completed it and went on to PvP. Same goes for a LOT of other games out there. You play the story and are done; OR you start playing multiplayer modes. Everyone cries because Bungie doesn't lick your spoiled little b-holes clean and then serve you ice cream. At least they still do something with their game. Play it, or don't. That simple.
-
Since they're pointlessly clipping the ammo reserves as if it will make a huge difference in sniper use in PvP, can we get Shoot-to-Loot as an intrinsic perk on all legendary and Exotic snipers to better offset the ridiculously detrimental effect the nerf will have on PvE?
-
-
Lol no content in months? How about no content since Vanilla? 1 PvE event and it was a month after the game launched, we get PvP events once a month and then some on top of that. Literally zero interest in making PvE better from Bungie, it's sad really.
-
5 AntwortenThey should just go ahead and remove pve, there'd be less tears on the forum
-
9 AntwortenWhy winge? Nothing in PvE is that hard that a minor PvP balance will stop you in your quest to eradicate the darkness.

Utter trash of useful and fun guns.

3 AntwortenThey LITERALLY only nerfed mida, 1k stare, and terminus because they're too popular. They actually say it in the update that they're being nerfed despite being balanced because so many people use them. Actual word for word what they said on the MIDA Multi Tool:
Ignoring popularity, we think MIDA is fairly balanced in the global scale of weapons but I’m sure many non-MIDA users are starting to get tired of seeing that name come up in their death screen. Considering the popularity of the weapon we wanted to preserve how it feels to use but thought it was best to make it a little less horrible to be on the receiving end.
On the 1000 Yard Stare:
This is an interesting situation. We don’t like punishing a relatively-balanced weapon just because it is popular, but we also want players to feel like they have options.
On Quillim's Terminus:
Not to keep banging the same drum, but it is important to us that players feel like they have options and that there isn’t a single ultimate weapon per archetype.
THEN MAYBE ADDING MORE OPTIONS YOU CLOWNS

The MIDA nerf was pure stupidity... another shot fired at the PvE community
-
I completely agree, as someone who enjoys pve and pvp, I still think its stupid to change how guns work in both based on one. Example: mida no longer being as viable in pve due to no stagger rounds, based solely on that it was used a lot in pvp. They even said it was balanced! So don't change it, its not that hard to understand these things. Buff othee guns instead! Along with them completely screwing us over with less ammo in pve.
-
1 AntwortenI think it is intentional and clearly Bungie is moving Destiny towards a PVP game. These changes totally change the PVE experience and not in a good way. But maybe that is intentional so they can just get rid of PVE altogether. I sure do miss y1 Destiny.

12 AntwortenPvE isn't very challenging when it comes to FPS mechanics, and the minute details of a weapon's performance aren't really relevant. A difference of a few hundred milliseconds is really only important to top-tier PvP players; it's not going to affect your ability to shoot brainless mobs. On top of that, MIDA isn't even an intelligent or common choice for the current Raid. I'm not going to address the changes to ammo pools since they already addressed that with a PvE specific fix in the form of increased ammo drops. I do not see an argument for why these changes will significantly affect PvE in a negative way, and you didn't even attempt to make one; all you did was unironically whine about whining (Self Awareness Meter: Coldsteel the Hedgehog). Come back with an objective argument that outlines a true issue this creates in PvE. I don't care about your feelings or perceived victimhood.
-
Agreed on many points. It's just not important to Bungie for us as players to have any real pve content except recycled, re-skinned areas.
-
7 AntwortenThe sad truth is this, if all pve only players left? Destiny would be just fine. If all PvP players left? Destiny could very well die. Bungie knows this, sadly PvP is what keeps Destiny relevant.
-
Bump I Absolutely agree

It's too bad that PvE -blam!-ing sucks. Otherwise maybe someone would give a shit

1 AntwortenIt's not just the most recent round of nerfs/buffs it's all the tweaks that have been done since launch entirely in the interest of PVP. Entire weapon classes nerfed into being useless, character subclasses made so weak they're useless in PVE (Bladedancer and Sunbreaker). The game modes should have been separate from the start.
-
With the way that they destroyed sunbreakers in PvE when they pushed the December update, I can understand. The sniper rifle ammo nerf is definitely going to make things harder.
-
Can i get banned from pvp only if so how
-
I think at this point their cide for the game is so buried they wouldn't even be able to find it. You have to remember this game was created by a team and then that entire team was fired and then the vanilla game was released like 6 months later. Everything since then has been built off something that a team made that is no longer part of the company. I sincerely hope that Destiny 2 has separation of PvP and PvE balance since it will be built from scratch. Until then I will come and go from this game as I have since I got it. Play a little of everything that it has to offer on both sides.
-
16 AntwortenAnyone complaining about the changes affecting pve is stupid. I can't see any reason how its actually gonna make pve worse. It may make a few things harder but that's a good thing.
-
Agree, stop nerfing PvE to balance PvP. Stupid.
-
There's only one real solution here, PvP has to go. I dream of the day when I can play Destiny and not see the Crucible, not see the vids of all the lag switchers, not hear about all the snipers, all the hand cannons, about my beloved Mida, then have to play after all the weapons have been nerf'd into the ground. I hope Bungie figures this out and we see a Destiny 2 WITHOUT PvP/Crucible.
-
They have made changes to weapons based on pve data: GHorn- nerfed because it had become a requirement by lfg groups (for some reason?) and so they wanted to make it less powerful and less of a requirement Icebreaker- nerfed because they didn't want you sitting back making a sando while waiting on ammo regen
