Bladedancers got the guillotine first. (blink was ridiculous though)
Then Sunbreakers got hit by the knife next. (Cauterize/armor were the only true issues)
And now warlocks.
Sunsinger averages a KD of .96 while golden gun, aguably the most balanced class, sits at a solid 1.
Stormcaller sits a 1.03.
Which coincidentally.. the sadly broken titan subclass sunbreaker also sits at a 1.03
Yet... nightstalker is sitting in the lead with a 1.1
Tbh theyre really not all that far from eachother lol.

[spoiler] Wombo definately is a very strong combo. Imo its right up there with firebolt.
Wombo has the ability to:
* remove radar
*blind you
*cuts movement speed by 50%
*locks double jumps
*locks abilities
*locks charged melees
*locks supers
Well.. actually.. only the smoke grenade does that, both grenades do damage, more than firebolt does actually.
BUT it requires two charges and doesnt track (as in the grenade doesnt magnetize to an enemy like a missed fusion/flux/magnetic do).
Im not saying that its op btw. I believe its balanced because of the trade offs.[/spoiler]

[spoiler] I believe firebolt is balanced. I will say that its a very strong grenade and imo stronger than alot of other grenades.
Look at its advantages:
*its a long range AOE nade'
*Has 11 seconds of burn DoT at 7 damage per second
*allows slight tracking due the 7's being visible through walls(remember though..keen scout is a thing, js.)
*the burn just slightly obscures vision
*learning curve isnt very difficult
*no damage fall off when tagging at full distance
*part of a great nuetral game
Its also balanced by alot of other factors too:
* It will not kill by itself, ever.
*Warlocks being slower than hunters/titants makes it more difficult to close the distance.
Focused burst allows players to close distances quick but the overall time it takes to close the distance fully for a max agailty hunter/titan is quicker than max ability sunsinger
*Requires 2 perks to even of use, yes the other perks aren't all that useful but it STILL requires those perks regardless.
*The DoT actually [b][i]allows[/i][/b] for an enemy to get away. Why or how you ask? [b]Because[/b] it ONLY does partial damage initially instead of all of its damage at once; that paired with nothing slowing/stopping/hindering the enemy, at all, literally allows the enemy to get away.
To top it off, you can easily learn to bait firebolts in trials. I say this because its referring to the average and casual players predominantly. Players that rely on firebolt kore than gunskill will always use firebolt the same way, adapting is hoe you bait it.
Skilled players will be amazing with any class to be honest, a big part of being that great players rely heavily on gun skill, the subclass is just what helps boost their preferred playstyle and tactics.

Im worried about PvE and how they will fair now.
At least the hunters have NighStalkers and titans have Defenders.
If they hit StormCallers and SunSingers to hard then thr warlock class eill struggle to be useful for PvE. LOL dont even try and tell me VoidWalker is useful for raids.
Yeah, if youre skilled then you can make anything work but with SC's having the add-control and SS's only having self rez well.. i guess were SOL if they pull a 'Sunbreaker' on them.

Youre next hunters (; the cycle will continue. You know there will be hell to pay and alot of bitching and whining if this re-balance breaks the balance.
Your NightStalker class will then fall into the gaze of the 'Nerf-herd' reticule.
I am truly curious as to what everyone thinks about this though. And would like to see some actual debates, none of that salty ignorant bs that happens.
I dont believe any class is op currently.

After reading through this and scrolling through the forums i had a realization. I think they really are aware of our requests, whines, posts, thoughts, recommendations, etc.
I want to say that they wont butcher warlocks like they did sunbreakers.. and will eventually buff sunbros to a competitive mannner.
Theres probably waaaaaaay more that goes into the decision making process that most of us.. dont even fathom. Its probablynmuch more complicated and with all corporations.. puppeteers have their say.
Lets just chill before we get ahead of ourselves. Maybe, just maybe, this re-balance might..just..make sense.
[spoiler]or im wrong and will be very pissed about loosing 2/3 of the warlock class because people in the crucible cant just admit that they may just suck and/or got outplayed.[/spoiler]

So it looks like Viking funeral and firebolt was not touched by the update!
Sunsinger's flameshield armor was reduced, probably to lower the reliance on it. Radiance Fireborn lost some overall super time.
The designer said the subclass is built on the burn and didnt want to change, it wouldve required redesigning the subclass.
Stormcaller- Landfall lost some damage and won't blind enemies anymore. Less super duration when using Transcendence. Plus a small damage buff to the "damage to surrounding enemies" in Electrostatic Mind perk.
Anyone salty? Mad? Got some thoughts?

Always thought it was stupid that Stalkers don't have axion bolt instead. You could make the argument that you could wombo with that grenade as well but that will always be a problem with smoke and you can't change that but having an actually good grenade would mean it would be used more often so it's less likely to be used in a wombo combo. Seems a pretty balanced fix to me and the lockdown perk could allow for longer tracking like the voidwalker perk so the grenade would still fit around the subclass

They will fix the bugs first. Expect a cleaned up shadestep and combo. It will likely be silent or quiet. They will collect more data and see. In the end I think tether and smoke are the biggest targets if any. Trapping large groups of people, countering their super, and sharing damage or allowing your team to jump in will be watched. I can't be sure cause I think they want to or should fix all bugs first. But that is where the eyes are. You can potentially stop a whole teams supers, run away, and let your team finish the job. This can also mass orbs and be a weapon. I don't see an issue just to note. But this community is funny.

I have 4 things to say about the imminent Nightstalker nerf. 1. Wombo Combo is a dumb name and whoever decided for it to be the "official" name is a huge nerd and most likely cried when Jack died in Titanic. I don't think it OP or needs to be fixed but, I will admit it's super annoying. 2. The shade step glitch does need to be fixed. I main a Hunter and I think it's stupid. 3. For the love of God. Please do not make the Arrow not kill anymore. I've seen and heard a few people say the arrow shouldn't kill you. 4. Can we get a better grenade please? Am I the only person who thinks the Nightstalkers nades suck piss threw straw? Can we replace Spike nade with Suppressor or Scatter? That's all I got. If this generates salt somehow I'll be suprised. [spoiler]I main a hunter and Symbiote needs to be buffed please. Titan flying knee to the face is great. Warlock shield of flame helps.[/spoiler]

1 AntwortenYeah everyone has always ignored the population KD idk why. Seems like the most important thing when considering nerfs. Hell all of year 1 the only class that had not only either subclass above 1.0 but also both was the hunters with both bladedancer and gunslinger well above 1. Now things have evened out a bit more in TTK but Nightstalkers have sat at the top the entire time (even during the whole sunbreaker reign it was only third highest KD while Stormcaller was second and nightstalker in first place)

7 AntwortenI mean im an honorary nightstalker and our shit sucks lol those two grenades though, they help but only if there dumb enough to back into the voidwall most just kill you and watch were there going afterwards and that tether is slow as hell to activate on most other supers you will most will likely die in the process of trying to shut it down but you know im god so I dont die.

1 AntwortenThe burn damage prevents the health regen, that's why it is broken. I cannot regen health for a good solid 5-7 seconds longer which make all the difference in a trials match where you try to keep pressure on one another
