If your ancestors had done a better job of establishing a better relationship with natives and the blacks they brought over, we might not be dealing with so much racism. then there's sticking Japanese - Americans in [i]internment[/i] camps during WWII....

White guilt is an absolutely stupid concept. Should black people feel guilty for their ancestors selling black people to the Spaniards? Should Austrians feel guilty for Hitler? It makes no sense to feel guilty over something that you had no hand in or control over. Awareness is important, so that we don't repeat the same mistakes, but to feel "guilt" over it is stupid.

What you should say is white guilt is stupid because: 1. Every nation or ethnicity owned slaves at one point in its history. Chinese, Indians, Russians you name it. It was an economic system more than a racist system. Even whites were enslaved by Arab countries, African countries and other white countries. Look up barbary coast slavery, Irish slavery, and slavery due to jihads. History wont teach this though because it does not fit the narrative that whites are evil in everything they do. 2. Ive never owned a slave. My father, grandfather, even my great grandfather has never owned anyone. No one in my family has. This is the majority of American's ancestors as very few were wealthy enough to own slaves. There were even black slave owners in the south; lets not talk about that though. But i guess i should be ashamed of my filthy self and my culture that ended slavery for the first time since the founding of civilization and force it on other countries like China that were still practicing it. Not to mention the fact that the vast majority of the slave trade went to the Caribbean and South America yet latinos/ mestizos are never considered racist for having slaves in their past. We are filthy filthy people and should kill ourselves. 3. We should also be ashamed for the industrial revolution and bringing technology to the world. Technology is inherently racist and oppressive because it was pioneered by white people. 4. We should also be ashamed as American's for conquering land. No other country has taken land from another group. The Native Americans never fought each other for land neither has any tribe, nation, or ethnicity across the world. America is the only country to do this in the history of the world and it should be ashamed. 5. Whites should be ashamed for creating the idea of human rights for the first time in history and spreading that message all across the world until it became nearly common place. Human rights must be oppressive to other races since it was created by whites. White guilt is completely hypocritical in its very nature because everything it accuses white of doing to others has been done by them as well. You cant say that Germans are racist [url=http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law]-godwinslaw!-[/url]'s still because thats happened in their past and is not relevant at all yet anything that happened in America at any time can be held against its people until the end of time. In my elementary school we had a vast majority of people. My core group of friends, most of which im still friends with, were two white guys myself included, one white girl, two blacks one male one female, one indian female and one asian male. We never grew up hating each other because we were different. No one looked at each other as if one group had "privilege" over another. And we were never taught to hate another race or even ourselves for the actions of our ancestors. Man i miss those days. Hell they have told me they miss those days. We have talked about this whole hating whites business thats shoved in our faces daily and we all find it ridiculous. But hey maybe im just a racist, evil, bigoted piece of filth because my ancestors never owned slaves. White privilege is hypocritical racism plain and simple.

I was born in 1997, I was not alive during any of those atrocities. I don't feel guilty for something that I as an individual had nothing to do with. Should we recognize them as the dark events of history that they are, yes. Should we continue to jab at each other for what happened in the past rather than worry about our present and future? Well, unless they are morons who are repeating the mistakes of the past today, no.

White guilt only happens when you're racist or discriminatory. White denial also has the same symptoms.
