Am I the only one crazy excited that it looks like we could have a VERY cool looking Taken style shader to look forward to in the April update?
Or do we think the image on the weekly update is some new form of enemy Taken Guardians?
Either way, excited to find out!
Edit: As some excellent individuals (below) have pointed out, it does indeed look like PoE gear the guardians are weakring... So... New shaders for us...? Or a whole new style of enemy to face?
Edit No. 2: 500 replies and Trending? Nice :)
Some great ideas below - ranging from shader possibilities, quest ideas suggestions of Taken versions of us in a Strike as bosses, or maybe armour set bonuses that give the effect and also some version of a quest like the Raid mechanic where we get 'torn' but we are all in the Taken realm fully - good stuff!
Whatever it is, lots of excited people - here's hoping Bungie delivers!

Might be armor?
-
3 AntwortenMaybe a new subclass.

6 AntwortenIt costs Silver.

4 AntwortenI'm pretty sure that the Taken effect isn't a Shader...just the armor they're wearing...

If they add Taken to POE this game is done for until Destiny 2.

2 AntwortenNew shaders will end up affecting light level
-
still no harrowed shader...

I think deej said we won't be getting new enemies didn't he? I might be wrong. But the only problem with that shader is everyone will have it

Bearbeitet von an engram full of bees: 3/18/2016 1:31:15 PMHopefully both, but I think they're Taken guardians. Look at the Titan helmet. That white, glowing visor never used to be there before, even when it wasn't glowing. Why would they add a bright, visible spot on the helmet? I'm thinking it's a Crit-hit spot. It's a bit of a stretch, but every other Taken enemy has a bright spot on their face for precision kills. Same goes for the Warlock in that picture. The visor on that PoE helmet never used to be that big.

3 AntwortenPoE gear that has the taken look or we get updated PoE gear with a taken shader as reward. Also the background in the image looks like the reef, maybe the new strike is going to include the taken queen.
Probably just going to be PoE reskinned though.
1 AntwortenYou can look awesome with this taken shader BUT you have to wear this horrible PoE gear
-
Well..Everyone is gonna look the same all April if it's a shader
-
It could be somethin really interestin.. Taken shader or fighting taken guardins in PoE, then again it could be somethin as small as reskinned PoE armour.. They're definitely the PoE armour sets jus hope it's not a simple reskin of armour we've already had. Fingers crossed

2 AntwortenWouldn't it be cool if the strike was in Crota's End? And the chalice of light was now corrupted. The blighted chalice!!! Jk. That sounds uber lame.
-
6 AntwortenLets be real. Its not a shader. Its just promotion art hinting there will be a taken level in the PoE. No need to look to much into it.
-
Both concepts are a cool, I hope both. Taken shader comes a little late in my opinion, but i'll take it.
-
1 AntwortenI think it's an affect from the blighted light strike if I'm not mistaken.
-
That's not a shader. It's the new enemy type for the reworked PoE.
-
7 AntwortenDoubt it's a shader, it looks like it has an effect on the guardian. That's too much for one shader
plus old gen consoles couldn't handle it
3 AntwortenBearbeitet von GalaxySpider: 3/18/2016 7:22:35 AMHopefully Taken guardians with unique skills/attacks. Also I doubt it's armor/shader. The Titan helmet never had a visor and the warlock visor is too small/thin to be the exact same helmet. Pretty sure these are enemies, not just shaders/armor. And the glowing indicates, as usual with Taken enemies, their "eyes" a.k.a. weakspots.

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von Tamed: 3/18/2016 8:10:07 AMNot a taken shader (PoE class items wouldn't change if it was) and most definitely won't be any taken guardians we will be facing (whole new set of code to implement).
-
I had actually thought about Taken Guardians. Lmao.
-
Seems to me that it's more likely to be a taken themed armour set. Bungie have a history of recycling assets (I'm not complaining). Maybe they picked PoE gear to recycle.
-
I would love a taken shader, but I'm kinda hoping that it's a new enemy type.
