This is why:
Vault of Glass is never too punishing, nor is it too easy. If one person dies (assuming you have a full fireteam), the rest can continue just fine, with little to no difficulties. If the guy with the relic dies, just pass it on to the other guy. If you wipe, it doesn't really take very long to get back to where you were.
King's Fall? You're shit out of luck if even ONE guy dies. This is especially apparent in Totems, Deathsingers and Oryx. Bonus "I'm screwed" points if the person that dies was the relic runner. And if it's hard mode? Too bad, if one guy dies (or heaven forbid he disconnects because Bungo's servers consist of two potatoes and a tulip), you're doing it all over again.
Take Golgoroth Challenge for example. It doesn't matter how far you get into the challenge, if so much as ONE guy dies, you have to do it ALL OVER AGAIN. It's not that I suck at it, it's just so tedious to do it again. Oh, and don't get me started on the random disconnects. It's bad enough that the servers consist of two budding potatoes and a dead tulip, but if one guy disconnects? Restart. They don't even have the courtesy to give you back your ammo, or at least spawn you back alive. You start from nothing when you reconnect.
It is for this ONE reason why VoG will always be better than KF. The fact that VoG is willing to forgive beginners' mistakes (and the servers' screw-ups) and still be a fair challenge. KF is like, "Hell no, bitch, you screw up or if the servers die on you, I don't care, you do it again."
And I think that this is why the people who host LFGs for KF are less forgiving than the raid itself.
On one LFG raid, they asked if I had a 300 Black Spindle. At the time, I only had a 299 Black Spindle. So what did they do? They kicked me. Come on, it's close enough.
That's all I have to say.

2 AntwortenOther reasons - The VoG weapons were mostly best in class. KF weapons are immediate shards with the exception of Qullim's VoG is more than boss fights VoG was fun and stood the test of time. KF is boring and feels like a chore you have to do to increase your light level.

2 AntwortenWell, it is more like 1 1/2 potatoes because I was hungry. I wanted to eat the whole potatoe but carbs and stuff... trying to get my ass into this girl's pants. Also, the tulip is gone. It died without water and sunlight, because the sun is rarely out in seattle or wherever bungie is. Edit: update, I think a chia pet has replaced the dead tulip. So 1.5 potatoes and a chia pet.

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von Michelob21: 3/17/2016 6:16:41 PMThere isn't a single fight in King's Fall that can't be done with a death (or more) aside from Golgoroth challenge mode unless the death is in the final damage cycle. I've done a non challenge Golgoroth with 4 people. I've finished Warpriest with as little as 2 or 3 people left standing several times. Totems I've finished with 5, though I'm sure 4 would be achievable (incredibly tedious but yeah). Daughters with 5 is not bad at all. My first challenge mode Oryx completion had a death on the second shade. The problem is that everyone wants to wipe immediately after a death instead of sticking it out and trying to finish anyways.
-
I feel like they made it less forgiving cause it is the third raid. Increase of difficulty idk... It's fun, but it can get tedious fast. Vog all the way.
-
You ever do a VOG with just blue weapons and armor? It's definitely unforgiving
-
kings fall needs more teamwork. vog can be beaten with easily with a mic or not

15 AntwortenBearbeitet von Razr: 3/17/2016 4:28:53 PMKF is the worst activity in the game IMO. It is not comparable with VoG in any way. EDIT: Actually KF is the worst thing that ever happened to Destiny. It followed update 2.0!! I wish Bungie would have stopped at HoW and wouldnt wreck the game to its current state!
-
Just so you know if someone dies In Warpriest you can 5 man him and that goes for Golgoroth aswell(Non Challenge week). Daughters is even more of a joke, especially if the whole fireteam has ToM. Lastly if someone dies at oryx you can 5 man him(did it 2 weeks ago when the person we were carrying died during the 8 bomb detonation phase. Instead we adapted the strategy and detonated each round.

23 AntwortenYou can blame KF mechanics on Bungie being spiteful about the optional matchmaking proponents.
-
You just proved why Kings Fall > VoG.
But, I still love VoG
-
2 AntwortenMy group can 5 man every section without a problem.

CROTAS END, FTW

Nah. The mystery, story/lore is what made vog better. Although oryx is a cool boss (his size helps with that) he doesn't feel like a threat and feels weak in his most powerful form. The relic in vog was also more fun and more important and has a wider range of use. The boss fights felt fun but also challenging. Not infuriating and frustrating
-
I don't think that's the only reason VOG was fun to keep playing KF is not fun gear and guns are lame it just doesn't have the replay ability that VOG had and bungie saw that so made RNG gear lvl so you had to keep playing it

Bearbeitet von Iggister: 3/17/2016 5:04:27 PMI agree. Too many mechanics, would've been better as a 3 man raid. It's not hard, it's more about waiting for everyone to have a good run on the same run.
-
I have had multiple times where a member of the raid team dies and we five man it. Totems is easy to do. Sister is easy. Normally the golgy challenge people die either at the first damage phase or the second (if it takes a third your doing it wrong) which normally you don't even have to worry about the person dying. Even on oryx challenge it is possible to five man it. Four manning is challenging but doable.

1 AntwortenTL;DR Don't die.
-
5 AntwortenIf you're SOL from one death, you need to practice more. KF, can be done with only 4 people without any cheesing.

Bearbeitet von cellar dweller: 3/17/2016 4:56:44 PMi volunteer on LFG to do raids and other PVE events constantly. the kings fall bosses are fine as long as people know what they are doing. if most of the team at least is competent and skilled you can backpack 1 or 2 people. we brought a 292 through hard mode like 2 weeks ago. VOG is really fun, i've done it several times recently on LFG for people looking to get the mythoclast or other things
-
VoG was fun that's why. It was the first raiding experience for a lot of people (myself included) so it was memorable and fun. KF feels more like a chore to do however, and really unnecessary to do. Light only matters in IB and really ToO outside the raid. Really only do the warpriest challenge for an easy 320.
-
Agreed. KF had more pressure and almost too many mechanics. Literally every player had to do a separate part making it take longer if 1 person dies, also having to pick which role your going to have etc. Another reason VoG is better is the loot! Elemental primaries, great stats and perks on most the weapons and a Raid exotic to brag about (seriously the Vex Mythoclass is beautifully made and a true exotic. ToM is lack luster due to its specific role as a raid gun only.) Which brings me to another point. Bungie always wants variability for the game, yet they created an exotic that's only good in the last 2 parts of the raid and is basically a necessity for it. It's just like requiring Gally in crota
-
You'll hit the nail right on the head for that one. Literally those exact reasons are why I gave up on doing Kings Fall anymore.

VoG was better for many more reasons than what you stated. While as a whole, your gripe is actually 1 of the things I detest most about a different game (Final Fantasy XIV, particularly when it comes to Primals and single-party raids) I don't find it's that egregious in Destiny. Losing someone in KF is pretty damning, but a solid group can still power through. Hell just the other day we lost 2 people right at the end on Sistters and still killed with time to spare. KF is actually stupidly easily and poorly designed compared to VoG, because the 2 things you need most are high Light (good gear) and communication. VoG's mechanics simply could not be circumvented and every single loss really hurt, particularly when it came to killing Oracles. The rewards from VoG still remain the best in the game as well, and a good example (though not perfect) of what raid gear should be, i.e. powerful & unique.
-
VoG is downright fun ... The mechanics are tolerable, the enemies manageable, and the potential for hilarity is high. I've played that raid with people who couldn't speak English, people that were drunk or high, noobs, and old hands ... and it's almost always a blast. KF has too much structure and too much platforming.

Fewer jumping stages in VoG.
