This is why:
Vault of Glass is never too punishing, nor is it too easy. If one person dies (assuming you have a full fireteam), the rest can continue just fine, with little to no difficulties. If the guy with the relic dies, just pass it on to the other guy. If you wipe, it doesn't really take very long to get back to where you were.
King's Fall? You're shit out of luck if even ONE guy dies. This is especially apparent in Totems, Deathsingers and Oryx. Bonus "I'm screwed" points if the person that dies was the relic runner. And if it's hard mode? Too bad, if one guy dies (or heaven forbid he disconnects because Bungo's servers consist of two potatoes and a tulip), you're doing it all over again.
Take Golgoroth Challenge for example. It doesn't matter how far you get into the challenge, if so much as ONE guy dies, you have to do it ALL OVER AGAIN. It's not that I suck at it, it's just so tedious to do it again. Oh, and don't get me started on the random disconnects. It's bad enough that the servers consist of two budding potatoes and a dead tulip, but if one guy disconnects? Restart. They don't even have the courtesy to give you back your ammo, or at least spawn you back alive. You start from nothing when you reconnect.
It is for this ONE reason why VoG will always be better than KF. The fact that VoG is willing to forgive beginners' mistakes (and the servers' screw-ups) and still be a fair challenge. KF is like, "Hell no, bitch, you screw up or if the servers die on you, I don't care, you do it again."
And I think that this is why the people who host LFGs for KF are less forgiving than the raid itself.
On one LFG raid, they asked if I had a 300 Black Spindle. At the time, I only had a 299 Black Spindle. So what did they do? They kicked me. Come on, it's close enough.
That's all I have to say.

I like things about all raids kf has perfected interesting mechanics and boss fights vog has the best loot table and fun encounters and the most fun to explore and crota has very interesting and fun mechanics that aren't boss fights.
-
Not to mention the much more fun boss fights and stages, superior raid gear and weapons, and the Vex Mythoclast.
-
VoG was better, mostly because it was the only raid that the guns weren't complete shit
-
2 AntwortenBro it's all about the weapons. New raid weapons are god damn awful. VoG has the best weapons in Destiny. Vision and Fatebringer >>>>>>> everything else in PVE
-
33 AntwortenAnd you would have to actually grind for ascendent materials which actually made u want to raid more

The vault of glass was a boring experience overall though. The intro was INCREDIBLY boring and just a matter of waiting. The Templar boss fight is cool. The Oracle part is the definition of tedium. The rest is fun though. The intro to King's Fall was simple but enjoyable. The ship part may or may not have been fun. After doing it the first time, it just gets old. The totems is actually pretty fun and requires coordination; I see no problem with that. The conflux was basically defending an objective. War priest is simple but annoying. Golgoroth is also simply but annoying and potentially tedious. Wipeout was fun the first time. Everything else does punish you badly for a fck up.

VoG>CE>HoW>everything else I mean new content (TTK) is good (becasue aditional content) but if you ask me VoG with CE and HoW are basicaly better. More balanced and even with all glitches what was/is here they are still fun to play and hell of the entertainment. TTK is good because there was nothing and quite honestly in my eyes it is most inconsisten raid in game. There is not balance just grind nothing else. VoG was perfect combination of platforming, puzzling and shooting. CE was great with all that spet2step gameplay. HoW was basicaly great fun for smaller groups. P.s.: And honestly who brought up that idea about leaving Y1 stuff behind is moron (sorry i do not have any other political world for nonsence of that level).

Even though loot sucks King's Fall is a fun raid, even being challenging when it came out first unlike PoE and CE
-
You can easily 4/5 man Deathsinger's and Oryx with a decent team.
-
Exactly.

Sometimes some people

I do agree vault of glass is less punishing. But I just love kings fall and it feels so satisfying when oryx is finally dead. Beating the raid the first week as a 288 was one of the greatest feelings I ever had in a game. Don't get me wrong I love raids. It may just be a personal thing cause I never played the other raids day one. Year 1 Christmas newb

Its not really fair to compare Challenge mode KF to non-challenge VoG. Actually, I was saying the opposite of what you are saying back when I was raiding! That KF is less punishing than VoG (with the exception of sisters), but I didn't do too much of hard mode KF and I haven't done any challenge mode, so

Two potatoes and a tulip. Also VOG was a lot more fun and lore filled. At least that's what I feel

7 AntwortenMy theory on this is that luke smith got pissy about people soloing Crota, so they specifically designed every part of this raid to require a full fireteam to run effectively. Remember how warlocks were able to solo crota a few weeks back? It didn't take them long to quietly nerf the sleeper to stop that.
-
Golgoroth is dependant in when the person dies as the challenge is every living player holds the gaze so if imu die between rounds its fine
-
-
Screw those guys. Come on a 299 spindle!?! Like WTF why would they kick you for that????
-
My issue with KF has got to be the wasted time for most times nothing. Can't even beat Oryx because one of my friends die every time, and we give up. We've only beat Hard once.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Raider TCK: 3/17/2016 9:57:03 PMAlthough I really enjoy both raids, the having someone die meaning you are basically screwed at totems, golgoroth challenge and oryx is a poor concept in game design. That being said, when you reach the 'upper tier' of LFG teams (318+), who have become VERY elite at the game as they play with new people each week and learn new tactics every time they do it. It's not uncommon to do the entire raid without a single death at a boss fight. This gives kings fall feeling of mastery as each section needs to be done flawlessly with no dead weight being carried. This is a positive and a negative. Kings fall is by FAR the least completed raid in destiny. Crotas end by comparison, one person could carry through five people at a time. Crotas end gave people really bad habits where they just expect to not to have to do anything in a raid and be fine as the one guy who knows what they are doing does it all for them. That's one of the reasons people hated skolas. He was really damn easy with 3 people who knew what they were doing. Kings fall in the other hand mercilessly punishes teams who don't work together, communicate and know what they are doing. If you don't know how to run, or have one person who doesn't, daughters will punish you. That one warlock who dies all the time but just self reses and doesn't think it will hurt the team, he will cause golgoroth to enrage. Wrong plate order at warpriest? Dead. Wrong platform order at daughters or oryx? Dead. It's a raid. It was never supposed to be easy. All being said the kings fall loot does leave a lot to be desired. Beating hard mode oryx, a 320 activity and getting 310 gloves with side arm loader is a kick in the balls.

4 AntwortenRemember the days where everyone wanted warlocks in the raid?
-
2 AntwortenThe armor looks nicer too imo

What I want to see in raids is more boss fights and less jump puzzles.
-
And VoG gave good loot. And the Vex are cooler enemies

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Quaddity: 3/17/2016 9:43:44 PMVoG dropped useful things back in the day. Finished HM Daughters the other night and my drop was 1 moldering shard... wtf. VoG is actually a fun raid, KF is a chore except for the challenge modes that for sure you give you something at 310 or 320 light.

Plus VoG is more fun!
