Because the idea just seems so weird
Now being me and living in a small rural Ontario town it's easier to just get things online or digitally

I prefer physical copies because I can play my games regardless if my internet is working or not. I couldn't play Halo 5 when Xbox Live was down because I got it digitally.
-
I love it. Besides, nobody is forcing anyone to buy digitally, it's all preference.
-
8 AntwortenI am buying more and more games from xbox live. My pc gets here soon tho. Also, Xbox live price for Division =$100ish Steam price = $60
-
The only thing that bothers me is they are not that much cheaper then physical copies. Considering they don't need to go through a distribution process
-
2 AntwortenOh boy! I can't wait to go preorder Dark Souls III on disc, so I can have it as a collectible! "You get Dark Souls as a preorder if you go digital." ..If I get a disc? "Keychain." (looks at disc) (looks at digital) (buys digital) Prepare to cry. ;-;

I love having digital because I like switching between games a lot, but if I can get new games through Amazon prime for 20% cheaper and the option to resell it I continue to buy discs. Most my digital games were free or extremely discounted.
-
I buy digital as my son has a ps4 too. Only have to pay once
-
6 AntwortenOnly issue with it is you can resell them, that and HDD space. Games this Gen tend to be 50gb or more. Even a 1 to 2 gb HDD will fill fast.

The only games I buy digital that have physical copies that are made for people with absolutely no internet, I.E. Minecraft. The only other exception was Dying Light. I went to three places to no avail. Finally went to Walmart, they had it. Waited twenty minutes for a guy to unlock it for me. Meanwhile there was some sort of maintenance guy who would not shut the -blam!- up about League of Legends or PC master race gaming(yes, douche I know PC is the best as far as specs go, I have one myself. Waited another ten, still nobody. Finally went home and just bought digital as my friends were waiting. I regret it everyday.

4 AntwortenYes because I know one day I will lose access to my purchases.

Bearbeitet von Lordsa Jar-Jar: 3/10/2016 11:36:06 PMI think it might be whats causing all these shit games to be released (The Division, anyone?) It simply becomes too easy to buy it online instantly, and most people are impulse buyers. All they got to do is hype the game up enough and bingo.

(To clarify, i am talking about current gen games) At release, and for quite some time, the digital copy is cheaper. After taxes, games are 90 dollars (I also live in Canada, Québec to be more specific) from their standard 79.99 price. The PS store adds no tax, as it is only as 79.99 (for most AAA games now). I do not in spending the extra dollars, but it is nice to save them. It is also way easier to obtain a game digitally. I was looking for a game that was on sale during the holidays, and it was sold out in every store I went to. So digital would have been the way to go, but it was still at full price. But, It is better than having a bunch of discs sitting on my shelves. However, I do think that physical games are better in terms of availability, as if I want to play a disc game I have but deleted all I have to do is make some room on my ps4 and it takes less than two minutes to install. Fallout 4 and GTA 5 ( the have installs in the game, as opposed to having it download in the backround) are probably the worst example of downloading digital games. Fallout 4 took about 8 hours to install, and GTA 5 took about 15 hours to install.

It doesn't bother me , although I prefer the physical copy in most my games.
-
8 AntwortenIt annoys me it costs more to buy digital than it does physical. Which to me makes zero sense.
-
I like having physical copies for some reason, plus if I don't play them anymore I can resell them. But digital copy is really convenient
-
Eh I feel the same away about college textbooks sometimes, it's just the idea of having something tangible makes it all the more fun
-
1 AntwortenDigital is better No need to go to stores And its also cheaper in the pc And you dont need to change the disc everytime you want to play another game
-
4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Beige_Alert_: 3/10/2016 9:57:36 PMI don't mind them. It's convenient. What I do mind is that here in Australia, the digital version is $30-$40 more expensive than the physical release.
-
I also live in a rural area and been all digital for many years now. Not weird to me it's just so convenient.
-
I prefer digital. But with Amazon primes new 20% off I may buy more games that way. Depends on the game because I do game share with my son on Xbox.
-
I prefer physical over digital, it feels nice to have something. It'd be nice if games still came with instruction booklets. I'm also paranoid of buying stuff online or digitally, even though it can be convenient.
-
Bearbeitet von KingKrown: 3/10/2016 9:18:16 PMI much rather a physical copy,I like the things I buy to be tangible. Digital is convenient as hell though.
-
They did before I got a nice SSD hard drive. I used to enjoy the physical copy of the game but it's just so convenient now to download them.
-
Birdman feels the exact same way! He also lives in a small rural town in Ontario! ( * v * )

1 AntwortenI love digital content. No need to deal with annoying ass physical media anymore. And as a PC gamer I'm used to not being able to return anything so that doesn't change much either. It's just a lot more convenient for me since I have a high-speed connection. No running to the store or waiting on a delivery guy.

Saves me gas and time.
