3.) Worst Forums Of All Time
If I even need to explain this one. I think we're in trouble.
Simply put, I have never been anywhere, except MAYBE the b/side of 4chan, where people have been more violent, trolly, cancer-filled, hateful, segregated, discriminated, elitist, bashing, just all around self-destruction.
Most, if not all active players rely on reddit and the official forums.
I'd like to say reddit is actually safer, but even then, it's a stretch.
This game is such a confusing waste of space, that the only way to keep up with it is to join the forums.
Not only that, but there is no support line offered by bungie for destiny.
You absolutely must use the help section to get answers, or other on-site automated features.
You are forced against your will to use the forums if you want to be an up-to date player.
There are no sub-communications or in-game affections.
Not that it's always a bad thing ... but here it very much is.
If the game does not kill your spirit to play this game, the forums will.
And if they forums don't destroy your resolve, you're either worse than the savage trash that lingers here, or you're one of the very very few passionate and forgiving players that are still here. Mercy on your soul.
2.) Broken Promises Swept Under The Rug
This is very hard to talk about. I had a hard time not placing this at number 1. Maybe I should change my mind before I post this. I don't know. "Eye of the Beholder" and all that.
Anyhow, I am not personally a "day 1" or "alpha" or "beta" player.
I've played Vanilla.
I've been "forever 29"
Maybe not as much as the rest of you, but there was a time when I played without any DLCs.
I moved forward, contributed financially, and played the game.
But there was a reason I came here when I did.
Just as much as other who were in the Alpha, Beta, and Day 1.
I can't even begin to count all the concept art I have seen from back in the day.
Audio logs, video logs.
Youtube videos, twitch streams.
Live feed, beta shots.
You name it.
Destiny was shown and branded as this ultimate open world MMORPG experience on both a scale and platform that had never been done before.
A pioneer and dawning franchise to ignite the way for all future genres that would come after it.
Held up by the minds of Bungie that created the Halo Trilogy, one of the best games of all time, and at its conception was regarded as the greatest shooter to ever grace the universe.
Waxing nostalgia aside, players came because of two things:
The bungie grand name.
The promoted content.
And if you don't already know, everything you ever heard about this game before it launched was completely destroyed, broken down, revamped, rewritten, re-everthing.
Founders left.
Co-founders were fired.
The entire game was scrapped.
Everything you knew and loved before it came out in the years presiding was cast away.
What you got when you finally bought the game was a different story.
Foreign, alien, in a bad way.
One of the biggest things I've seen in the media bashing this game is the lack of story, the lack of content, the failure of the studio to recognize the fan base, and all the cut and lost content that no one can find from the glory days of old.
I'm legitimately sad as I type this, because I feel almost all of you can agree with me, that before we picked up this game, we believed it was going to be the forefront experience of our lives as pertained to FPS and MMO.
I could not have set my personal bar higher for expectations on this game, which were entirely fed to me by the glorious jewels of advertisement and promotional material that to this day has not been recognized in this game.
I'm sure some of us play this game out of addiction or false hope, but either way, either reason.
Every time I think I can smile playing this game, I frown.
Because I knew at one point, it was destined to be even better.
And it probably never will be...
1. Blatant Lies and Rejection of the Player Base
Now I'm not really sure if I agree this should be number one.
But number two can be classified as a personal reason.
So I'm going to close with this.
If you got google, use it.
I honestly don't have enough time to sift through two years of "proof" for you.
I should, but I just can't right now, really upset.
BungieVision might not be as financially manipulative as Electronic Arts; however...
They are definitely the biggest liars and cheats I've ever known.
From completely denying the restructure of the game until outed by their own employees and media.
From debasing their game so much their own Founder left.
From firing their own composer who have made music for them for nearly 20 years.
For lying to our faces about cut content and hidden agendas.
For blaming their founder for creating a "poorer/less visionary Destiny"
For completely throwing out over 3 hours of cutscenes for the VANILLA DESTINY.
For using said fired-composers work without paying him the rights to it.
For losing ALL OF THEIR COURT BATTLES TO DATE SINCE CREATING THE DESTINY FRANCHISE
For being caught blatantly lying to their fan base on their official website no less than FOUR TIMES in less than TWO YEARS
For only ever apologizing for one of those incidents, while mostly blaming it on the playerbase...
For creating a forum where they constantly ask us for our help and opinions but ignore us anyway...
For creating a wishlist that is governed by employee issued mods that has only ever had 1 thing actually make it into the game that we asked for...
For constantly fighting the media and saying it is wrong about its "numbers" despite never providing real details...
I can only say I could go on forever and ever about things they lie about and ignore us over.
I honestly feel like a traitor to my own "gaming soul" for being a part of this experience because bungie and activision have to be the most dishonest and manipulative force in the gaming world I've ever seen.
Electronic Arts is bad.
But the BungieVision duo takes the cake. Hands down. There is NO CONTEST
More than anything, even all the other numbers listed not-withstanding...
I just feel bad playing a BungieVision game. Of any title.
I can't trust them.
I can't believe them.
They betray me at every corner.
They make video games seem like politics and greed.
Hell, it might be nowadays, business and what not.
But you can't just "play the game" anymore.
They take their real-life greed, real-life jealousy, real-life economy tactics.
And they force it onto us via their game.
So much grief and sorrow and hardship we foster towards the game and each other as players all at the lies and whims of a failing game and a failing company for whatever conceivable reason.
Bottom line.
After all is said and done.
I feel like I'm playing a poorly made game, created by legitimately bad human beings.
That transcends the fourth wall, and as a person, sometimes I purely hate this game because of what goes on behind closed doors.

It's getting late where I live, and I feel I've rambled on for a long long time.
My passion got the best of me, but I hope you enjoyed this "top 10"
It's not official, and obviously my own opinion, but hopefully this incites something passionate in the rest of you...
Or even a bungie employee...
I know it took a toll on me.
Peace.
Live a happy life, and love yourself.
Chelsea, out.

9 AntwortenGet over it. They delivered an amazing game. I don't care what you wished it was.

1 AntwortenBut the forums are more fun than the game
-
1) the forums is entirely OUR fault. 2) a lot of content was cut off by Activision to be sold back to us. Not bungies fault there. 3) bungie may have not expected the amount of lag we got when they added in SBMM. So it's reasonable they thought some of it was SRL. Now they did say there was no changes and that could either be an actual lie or just a miscommunication. Something we saw with the last patch notes. Also. List all the lies. I only know of one, so if more happened. Tell me and I'll research them. Because I'm not a very trusting person by default.

If this was transformers would the people who defend bungie be autobots or decipticons? Jw

great 10 points , but id just add one - NO MATCHMAKING is not acceptable for a online only game where content is designed not to be possible to solo

1 AntwortenHow is the " worst forums of all time" a thing? It doesn't really affect the game.
-
1 AntwortenAgree with the 10, though the nerfs are personally higher on my list. Nothing sucks more that effectively losing a weapon by having it turned into a shell of its former self.
-
3 AntwortenMeh. I never got involved in the hype leading up to the release, so I didn't get pissed when things were "cut" from the release. I didn't really use the forums for anything other than LFG until midway through Year One. In ever felt "lied to" because I never expected anything. I also never really got into Halo, so I don't feel like I'm owed anything, or that Bungie "changed". They're just another company that makes games in my view. I like the game. I like the weekly resets. I'm a Day One player(my friends coerced me to get it the night before the release, I had no clue what it was) and I still get a little excited for Tuesdays (albeit not AS excited as I used to get). I can't remember the last game I played for over a year and a half, and I've been gaming since the 2600 was THE system to have (as in, the NES didn't exist). I don't care that older gear is virtually useless now, and the grind is no big deal to me. It's a game. Some games are a grind. It is what it is. Yes, there is a content glut that we're stuck in right now (it's not the first one, and with a scope this big m, it won't be the last), but that just means I have more time to do other stuff, like real life stuff. I excited for what's to come, regardless of when, how, or why ("It's just stuff that was cut from the original release!"). New stuff is always good, even if it's just a month of racing. It's a game. I play it. It doesn't play me... unless I let it, and I don't. Just my (useless) opinion.

When you've invested so much on this game.. You kinda want something in return. Since the original idea for destiny was scrapped, expect hidden agendas and lack of contents. I honestly I don't care where destiny is going now, I'm done being their human shield each time pple wants to bash how horrible destiny is. I still play destiny, but I've completely stop playing pve, and now just all pvp, bc pvp is ok despite of the horrible server. I hope destiny 2 and further in the future will be more epic now that they more talented members in the team.
-
Been off destiny for almost a month now. The one thing i find hilarious is that every Complaint about Destiny's PVP is pointless. The Destiny PVP in the gaming world has 0 credibility, because it WILL never be a competitive shooter. You can introduce Trials or monthly PvP events, but god no will it ever reach levels of competitive recognition. You can nerf pulse rifles, and scouts will be OP. You can nerf scouts, and hand cannons will be OP. A game like CSGO for instance. If Valve rolls out a update and a weapon has negative implications, they fix it within days, even hours. It took Bungie 8 months to nerf thorn. Thats an insult in itself. Sweats do not exist, because destiny is not a sweaty pvp game. Tryhards DO exist in destiny. They are your so called "Sweats". They attempt to use the current "Meta" when in reality, they are just using a broken load out. A gun isn't the current "Meta". If you consider a gun the current meta, then reconsider which game you have chosen to play competitively in. No other game has this many balancing issues. Any game that has had these issues, has been long fixed and corrected. Think about it.

10 AntwortenIt's "disappointed you" yet you're still here making posts about it and playing it every day. Funny how much of a paradox this community actually is.

1 AntwortenI can't believe the forums are on this list. It's not meant to be professional. Especially when this game is catered to kids. Or just blame the ninjas for failing to do what they are supposed to be doing. So therefore ninjas have made this game disappointing for us. Everyone is so sensitive these days "The forums are toxic so I am not going to enjoy this game"
-
1 AntwortenGood lord. It's like you're having an existential crisis over a videogame. If you don't want to play it, don't play it.

Lol at you high school kids. So much drama over a video game.

I don't know if forums should be 3rd

Honestly, 10-5 are issues that occur in a lot of games. Sure, timegating sucks and a lot of loot sucks and is hard to get, but that's like a lot of other games. 4 is a stupid concept and definitely needs to be fixed by Bungie in the next game. Some nerfs can be for both, but not all of them. 3 definitely true about the toxicity of these forums. 2&1 the game is different than what I came for, but I enjoy it still quite a bit. Bungie has made too many mistakes business wise, but I think the mistakes with the game aren't horrible. Annoying and need addressed more, but still, you just adapt and keep playing. These are just my personal opinions, of course.
-
I first came to forums when I found out it was the only way to find a raid team and I guess that was the bait. The hook was ppl calling out for several revenge nerfs with not enough evidence to make a case. I will say my view on this game changed the moment I joined forums I wouldn't of known about class wars( I assumed everyone played the 3 characters) or how disappointing most of the community and bungie are behind the scene(Bungie lying and community feeling entitled) . I actually quit the game for 2-3 months not because of lack of content but the community killed gaming for me. I know it's hard to believe so much negativity can destroy gaming.
I believe Bungie needs to play thier own game to learn more about thier products and know what needs tweaking. We can no longer rely on forums as our answer most ppl here are extremely biased and won't get you the feedback we need.
1 AntwortenSomebody call a wambulance. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh! You knew what you were getting when you bought the game, just like the rest of us. Quit whining and try using your time for something that actually benefits the community. These rants are so overblown and useless.

3 AntwortenAnyone who was on the Diablo 3 forums during the earliest days of Vanilla D3 will tell you your point about the worst forums ever is oh so terribly untrue. These are toxic forums, to be sure, but the D3 forums back then were pretty awful. And the League of Legends community makes this one look like a bunch of boy scouts. As for the comments on the lies about the development of the game... It's clear and readily apparent to me that you have approximately .04% knowledge of game development. You can lay out the dev history of damn near every video game ever made and find most, if not all, of the things that happened to Destiny. Cut content? Go ask World of Warcraft fans about Faralon. An entire questing zone was promised and then removed from Warlords of Draenor. The garrison system in that expansion underwent massive changes from what was initially promised and what was even in the alpha and some beta builds. Diablo 3? The entire game was scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up. And this is just the two games I played most before I came to Destiny. All video games are littered with content that was either cut, scrapped, or re-visioned before the game went live. Bungie is as guilty of any other developer as doing that. And you know what? They neither lied nor broke promises when they did. That's like you getting mad because authors write multiple drafts of a novel. Was a change between drafts a lie? No, it was a change in the development of the project. -blam!-'s sake, people, if you're going to whinge about this game, stop doing it in a goddamn vacuum.
