The sad truth: Division is horrible.

Well, here goes everything. As a player of the alpha, and also both the closed and open betas, I consider myself very versed and proficient when it comes to all things The Division. ~ Thus, I Refute Thee. The Division, when only glanced upon, is a brave new and exciting world for all those who have found boredom in their lives as Guardians of The Last City. I will admit that as Destiny crumbles with a profound lack of new content, it is only natural that a majority, if not all, of the playerbase will swarm to find a new "Destiny" to seek shelter under. And so, with little time, The Division has been deemed worthy of being the so-called next "Destiny." Well Guardians, those of you that believe this foolish lie are wrong. The Division is not your next "Destiny." It cannot even begin to hold water in comparison. You will buy this game and realize this soon enough. Here's why: 1) Too much walking, not enough action. Simply enough, the game overall lacks decent encounters and interactions while on the go. Sure there are some encounters, such as the medical ones, but how fun will those actually be after completing the same stagnant objective over and over again? They had a huge opportunity here to put in Public Events, but they failed to do so. In terms of what I expect from a so-called "RPG," there should be something new and exciting around every corner, not a few kilometers away. In case it wasn't clear, I don't want to follow objective markers aimlessly down the streets of New York with little to nothing to do. Not to mention, almost 95% of all buildings are inaccessible. Where's the fun in not being able to explore and satisfying our curiosities? 2) Small map. This is pretty apparent, and goes a lot with what I mentioned above. Not only is there nothing to do, but there's even less space to do it in. If you think about it, The Division is maybe 1/3rd the size of GTA V's map, which makes it pretty small in comparison. It also means you're going to be running out of things to do pretty fast. You simply can't go to orbit and say "Well, sure that place was cool, but let's go check out Venus." Instead, you'll inevitably find yourself stuck with nothing to do in a much smaller world, that's barely explorable, in comparison to most RPGs. 3) Dark Zone lacking across the board. (Especially for End-Game content). If this is your excuse for End-Game content Ubisoft, then I'm not impressed. This so called "End-Game content" is PvP-driven, which is a mistake if you think about everyone who complained about Trials of Osiris. It is completely dependent upon the cooperation of other humans who equally want to screw you over and loot you for all your worth. This is going to cause a lot of rage out in those Forums, let me tell you. When your ability to succeed at an End-Game level is so dependent on Player vs. Player interactions, then you're going to have problems period. This experience in The Dark Zone impacts your ability to succeed in the overall game which makes it even worse. If they were to add End-Game content that is more Player vs. Enemy driven then this issue really wouldn't exist. 4) There is no "loot-drive." The number one thing that makes Destiny so compelling to play and dedicate hundreds of hours to is the loot system. As terrible as RNG may be, it keeps you playing the game. It keeps you wanting, groaning, carrying and fighting on, and finally celebrating. Not to mention the fact that Destiny's weapons in general are much more exotic (no pun intended), and way more fun to use. When you spend hours sitting in front of a cave, staring down your barrel aimlessly and shooting into it until it glows and radiates with engrams, then you know a game is good. 5) Let's Get Real. Do you really think you will find the same immersive and exhilirating multiplayer experience in The Division as you do in Destiny? One in which unites you and your Fireteam under one cause and one objective, one in which brings you and your Fireteam to tears at times and to triumphant cheers at others, and one that brings you and your Fireteam to the doorsteps of Darkness, as brothers bearing arms, ready to face the challenge, no matter the odds, in order to achieve victory and Become Legend? I highly doubt it. Edit: Did I mention the horrible graphics? Edit: Wow 900+ replies you guys are amazing! Whether you agree or not, I appreciate everyone who stops by to offer their opinion.
