I personally love holiday events in games. They may not offer much but are usually a small break from the same old grind and to have some fun. Granted, Destiny's events were nothing completely new (except SRL), but still interesting enough for me to enjoy for a few days.

Would you prefer the dlc model like year 1 or more of these events?

In a perfect world we'd have both. A small-medium cheap DLC in between larger yearly expansions (both rich enough on content to keep players busy for a time), with various free Holiday events interspersed between everything. Or in place of an event (one that may be too controversial for a holiday ie Christmas and Easter) a larger free update with some new content thrown in - kinda like our anticipated Spring Update.

Fingers crossed for you, i susoect it will be old content with noew light levels tacked on.

I won't be surprised at all, I have no serious hopes for the update. Free in the eyes of Bungie/Activision means more emotes and old content run backwards or something. It's just going to add more grind on until the likely $40 expansion this fall.

Yeah that's what i suspect aswell, it's a damn shame what this games become.
