[b][i]The One About Arbor Day[/i][/b] This is the one you've been waiting for, Guardians. We're excited to announce that we'll be making a huge update that will launch on April 29, 2016; and it's on our favorite holiday, no less. This update will change the PvE environments as you know it. The Darkness has ravaged our solar system and left our planets a bit barren. So, we'll be [b][i]sprucing[/i][/b] these tree-ridden areas up to make them look nicer. That's right, Update 1.3 is the big update that will finally add more trees to the game world. But the update itself won't add more trees. The task of making your Destiny experience greener starts with you, as this update allows you to change the environment. We'll be launching a new event called [b]Greenday[/b] that will allow Guardians to participate in making the galaxy a greener place. Guardians can expect more information later on, but know that this basically involves you planting trees, which will produce some big changes in your game environment. The more trees you plant, the better the rewards, such as 5 silver, a 256 ghost, and even a Greenday sparrow horn (it's makes the sound that a tree would make if it fell in a forest and no one was around to hear it). Wait till you see a majestic oak in Crota's realm, or witness the beauty of nature as a pine tree grows on the sides of the Vex Citadel. Just know these trees don't grow on salt, so hopefully you won't [b][i]arbor[/i][/b] any ill intentions towards us. As usual, this update will also nerf Fusion Rifles by making them fire as fast as a tree grows. Sappy planting Guardians, and stay tuned for our next update on our update coming out on April 1st. The Division has got to be the 20th or 30th game on the list of games that were going to destroy Destiny and haven't and the result won't be any different here. Some people will play both no doubt and certainly like any game they are going to experience a decline in usage until they put out more DLC but it's not cataclysmic. I don't understand your viewpoint at all, i have no interest in the Division and can't comprehend why you would wax melodramatic over a weekly update that disappointed, I mean seriously - they always suck. I'm trying to think of a civil way to say this but i find you entirely pathetic. "This is a sad day, not only for me but the community as a whole." Not so much, bon voyage.

If they've really lost you as a fan then delete your characters. These posts are nothing but whinny bluffs, just because Division launches on Tuesday doesn't mean Bungie needs to rush to talking about their next sandbox update that likely isn't coming out till May or June.

Well... I have over 1200 hours in destiny. Can pretty much do most things blind folded. (Hay might try that). Beta player. Started raiding late though and didn't bother with multiple characters until the last few weeks. So that's my credentials. On Destiny, do I still play? Almost everyday. I meet new people, I have a bigger friends list for it. Although it evolves, some friends are gone but I have new ones.. Now do I do the same stuff day in day out? Yes pretty much... sometimes I get bored but there is always something to do, may have done it 40 times before but If I want to do it I will, If I don't I won't. But here is the thing as a game it is stunning, never played a game that looked as good as this. Nothing comes close to the game mechanics they are probably best out there. Content wise. pve is huge.. but for a day one it is a bit tired and I really miss the old raids (VOG still awesome). But I am sure Bungie are rustling something up it will come and when it does it will be great. In the meantime I will help others which I enjoy... and it is good meeting new guardians. Helping others is what keeps me going. Nothing better than hearing someone beat oryx for the first time. Pvp I like it. I am not the most avid pvp player. I am possibly a fraction over average. There are issues but all in all I think it is reasonably balanced. With a few exceptions. I would like a bit more info or at least some hints on the future. But I know they will come. The Divison does look good. Not keen on the style of play not sure Ubisoft will pull it off. I don't see the depth of play that Destiny has to offer even now or in the future. It would take a monumental blunder on Bungies part like no continuation of characters into destiny 2 (I have became rather attached to my characters) for me to move on or something very exceptional to be released. I for on will stick at it as I can't see anything on the horizon that will pull me away. But time will tell and if I had a pennies worth advice for bungie is be careful on what advice they take from the forums as the less vocal community are the heart of the game. I just want to point out, it's very very clear that the devs of the Division must have used Destiny as a lesson. Division already has day one patch notes, player trading, and a game breaking bug has been prioritised and fixed, the shooting through walls and invisiblity. How long did it take for Bungie to fix the game breaking bugs in the raid? depends, if it's the portal bug that screw people over then never, if it's a cheese to counter the fact that the game is buggy... then Bungie pull that cord out of their ass and fixes something.... the workaround for the real issue. dedicated servers too. lots of things, i couldn't help but feel every time Division announced something, it seemed like a subtle dig at destiny because it mentions things that make sense to implement that bungie failed to do so.

They see it. trust me they see it but... they have nothing to offer.

I'm so glad this was posted. I completely agree with the OP says. I have been playing Destiny since Dec of 2014 and I followed the game when it was first rumored in 2012. I was so excited about the experience of traveling the solar system, looting caves filled with enemies and triggering some random quest, raiding with my friends and finding a bunch of exotic gear. When the game came out, stripped story and gear, I still defended all facets of game play, replay value, strength of enemies or what have you. Hell, i even played on 360 despite the major issues found in the last gen build of Destiny. As time progressed and other games were being released with their respective studios COMMUNICATING with gamers and listening to them too and I began to loose faith. The first two expansions where a slap in the face to all of us in this community and The Taken King could be compared to experiencing blue balls. For christmas I got a PS4 with Destiny and honestly I was a little more disappointed when plying games like The Witcher 3, Fallout 4 or even Destiny's cousin, Warframe. Here we are now 7 months after its release and almost a year since house of wolves was released and mums the word on anything new and you insult is by saying we are salty? -blam!- you guys seriously. You'd be salty too of you spent $200 dollars on a game that was worth $40. Hello games is gonna have you guys beat in June and Ubisoft will definitely take most of your player base away on Tuesday. Get your act together, bungie and don't insult the people who are basically writing your checks.

I bought the division, it's DLC. Originally just as something else to do. Planned on playing both, even saying I'd be on reset day, maybe Friday's....you know the drill. Couple of months ago I raged at Bungie over something. I'm sure whatever it is hasn't changed, yet I finally realized there is no point. Bungie doesn't play well with others. They don't communicate effectively, they don't uphold promised changes in a timely matter, they are seemingly disorganized, and I'm pretty sure Luke uses blunt scissors to cut and eats his paste. In other words, they're failing 2nd grade. Failing to do what must be done to retain gamers that have defended them and stuck with the chip job that was yr 1. Failing to believe the community could be a great source to get ideas, drive sales & recruit. Wait, they tried the recruiting thing, never mind. Anyway, I think I'm done. Yep, no one cares. See there's the problem. Along with Bungies failures there's this community that both blasts those that say their leaving and laments their empty friends list. You should honestly care that players are disgruntled and leaving. Don't assume they will all be back. I have 7 pages of friends that [b]never[/b] log on any more. That sucks. Anyway, I see the division as my nicotine patch. Maybe, just maybe I can replace the horrid RNG, deplorable community involvement, and do what I once did on Destiny...have fun. Destiny is slowly killing itself. You can wait and count on "planned" content, but the underlying problems still exist. It's like painting a rusted lawn chair. Looks great, but I am not sitting in it. Bungie doesn't care. They don't. There are so many things, chances, they've had to right this ship in the eyes of players and have just screwed the pooch. Waiting for them to say "Oops, we dicked this up. Our bad, [b]what can we do to make it right?[/b] Have you ever heard them say that? Screwed the NF Screwed crucible. Nerfs that were conceived in obvious drunken fits. Updates that are only updates because they contain the word "update" Luke insisting we play his way. Content droughts that are absurdly long. (No, events [b]dont count[/b] The community calls them out and not even once do they ask [b]what can we do to fix it?[/b] It's not really about the answer but the attempt to engage the community and actually get somewhere other than deeper into the salt mines. So I'm done. Ubi may do the same thing. We shall see. But I have more trust in them at this moment than I do Luke Smith and Bungie. Good luck guardians.

Almost any developer would be lucky to have a huge community like destiny had at launch. And what does Bungie do? Piss on it. Think about it for a second, the reason the community started out so big was because of the promises and inside looks before the game was actually released. The hype was huge. So in a way it was doomed from the start. Don't get me wrong I played the sh#t out of the game but it never really fed the hype that was shown before release. You could say that how most games go but we were shown an entirely different game. Regardless of why we weren't given the game we were shown, the community was there and asking for content. Thousands of people asking for content.... Willing to give thousands of dollars for content... And Bungie ruined that. They are the only ones to blame.

When he said discharge your favorite weapon I kinda got the vibe that maybe old gear will be usable again but idk
