When a Sunsinger melees, they get a shield, and the enemy burns. But when a defender Titan melees, to get a shield that is a tiny bit stronger, the Titan needs to get a kill with the melee. This seems a bit unbalanced, especially considering the Titan will t-Rex arm half the time, whereas a warlock will snipe people with their melee...
Warlocks are getting pretty butt hurt over this post.... Lmao
Here's how a 1v1 melee battle with a warlock occurs (when Defender Titan gets first melee):
-Titan melees. Brings down shield and some health.
-Warlock melees. Gets shield. Burns Titan.
-Titan melees. Brings down shield and some more health of the warlock.
-Warlock melees. Titan dies.
Warlock has half health (not including the white shield thing on the health bar) and wins the melee battle, even tho the Titan melees first. Titan had no chance at getting a shield, because he needs to kill to do so.
And don't bring up No Backup Plans. You shouldn't need an exotic armor piece to make a melee ability relevant.
Edit 1:And no, a Titan does not have double the melee speed of a warlock. If they did though, maybe it would be balanced for a defender Titan.
Edit 2: Hunters, stop complaining about having no shields. You already have smoke that can make you invisible or slow a person, making them a sitting duck. You have a blade dancer melee that can one hit, and you have a throwing knife.
Edit 3: I'd much rather have a weaker shield on the first hit, then a stronger shield after the melee kill. It would make winning melee fights much more balanced, as it would actually depend on who hits first to win the fight.
Edit 4: Surprised I need to write this, but this post is about a Defender Titan not a striker who can shoulder charge.
Edit 5: ...and now hunters are getting butt hurt. I'm starting to understand the term "huntard". May start using it.
Edit 6: I need to start labeling my paragraphs above with numbers or letters. People seem to comment before the read...
Edit 7:I apologize for making this into a wall of text, but I found another post relating to this topic.
Would the general population of Destiny be happy or rage if melees were tweaked?
My idea: Flip the Sunsingers and Defenders melee overshields.
Everything else stays the same except what triggers the over shield.
Warlock: Same range. Same shield hitpoints. Still burns. Gets over shield on kill, not contact.
Titan: Same range. Same shield. No backup plan only triggers on shotgun kills. Gets force barrier on contact, not kill.
I think this will bring a good amount of balance without breaking anything.
For those that think people would flock to defender... Let's be honest here...

Edit 8: Since this has gotten a large amount of attention, here's what I think can be done about the guns of pvp, so that snipers are not as prevalent and primaries are more useful. This has zero relevance to the post btw. Just wanted to get my ideas out there:

HOW TO FIX PVP
The answer is pretty simple in my opinion, shorten the kill time for primaries by buffing the damage. People rarely use primaries anymore, which is due to the fact that it takes so long to kill with a normal damage primary weapon.
Because of the large amount of nerfs since release, the primaries have weakened considerably in this game. If primaries were buffed, to be balanced, snipers and shotties would not be used as a main weapon choice. There would be no need for any special ammo drop nerfs, nerf snipers flinch, and nerf shotgun damage. With better primaries, the game would simply be better.
Why this won't happen:
Cuz Bungie doesn't know the term "buff" They only know .04 percent of its true meaning.
So you get my point? Bungie doesn't need to reverse past nerfs, but they definitely should do some type of global buff to primaries, as this would allow for primaries to be used as a primary weapon choice.
And besides, the type of people who got us into this mess were the blueberries who die by something that's used often, and complain about it. Those people tend to be the thumbless and brainless, who have little experience with this game and have low stats.
Why am I annoyed? Because crucible plays like shit atm, and I've been through this way too often, where something is too weak and it is nerfed out of existence. Shotguns were the best choice for pvp, then they were nerfed, then snipers took their place, and now people want them nerfed. See a pattern?

Edit 9: Changing title in an attempt to soothe the warlocks butt-hurtiness... Lol

Lol wouldn't mind if they brought it over to Titans.. I'm a warlock and don't really care, it's fun using my Force like powers though
-
Flame shield is 50 hp. Titan is 100
-
6 AntwortenOf course the Warlocks are butt hurt, it is OP, that's why. You can suck horribly at this game, but run that set up and anyone can do well.
-
Says warlocks are getting Butthurt...but this thread is a Butthurt post already. Lol wot
-
Bump so bungee seez diz

2 AntwortenThe funny thing is, I heard of no hunter. Oh that's right, we don't have any of that... So let me get this str8, you have things that others don't and want it to be better? Dam... Greed... Bastards... Wish hunters got something like that at all would be nice.

3 AntwortenSunsinger flameshield can be destroyed by a last word hit /mida headshot and stays for 14 seconds only and the melee charge fade away at hit Defender shield is stronger and can get an increase to its resistance and time, and can regenerate, and the melee doesn't fade at hit
-
I can see saying flame shield is fine but some people are in here arguing like flame shield is useless and barrier melee is op. GTFO with that bullshit

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Irenus: 2/28/2016 2:57:59 PMWarlocks have high range, slow melee's. They get a melee and a shield if they have flame shield on their skill tree. (Of course they do, EVERYTHING ELSE ISN'T WORTH IT.) Titans have a little less range than warlocks, and have fast melees. Defenders do need to get a kill to have a shield, but it doesn't require a subperk on the skill tree. So Titans get a shield AND reload/ready speed increased, get to make orbs for every melee kill (great for PvE) or a REGENERATING shield. And don't say they're equal value. Force barrier is stronger. Plus, force barrier can be activated by exotic gauntlets called No Backup Plans. Get a shotgun kill, get a shield. And there is a skill tree perk to make force barrier last longer. But hey, yeah... Flame shield is so OP.

Can't use the T-Rex arm card anymore, they have hunter melee range now
-
3 AntwortenScorch doesn't take one hit to kill, blink strike does, and storm grip if you can land it right.
-
Well from my experiences you can punch them quickly and gain a shield.
-
This is why THE GREAT DESTINY BUFF NEEDS TO TAKE PLACE. EVERYTHING IS UNBALANCED!
-
5 AntwortenIt can be frustrating for sure, but it is what it is. Adapt and overcome.
-
But yours is also accompanied by another perk as well, like faster reload etc.. I wish we could stop complaining about something that beats us in a game and freaking play. We don't need more nerfs

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Warcome: 2/28/2016 4:39:13 AMHunter: But that is none of my business...

Force barrier is more than twice the health as flame shield
-
Hunters don't get a shield for Melee or any other type of attack. Be thankful for what you do have.
-
45 AntwortenBearbeitet von Hawpy: 2/27/2016 4:53:13 PM- Force Barrier is stronger than Flame Shield - Force Barrier is a default shield that can be upgraded, Flame Shield has no upgrades - Force Barrier doesn't occasionally damage the user or set the user on fire - From what I have heard, Force Barrier doesn't refuse to deal damage from time to time - You can't activate Flame Shield with Shotgun kills - By activating on hit, Flame Shield is wasted if you lose the engagement anyway.
-
But here's the thing about it
50% of sunsinger melees don't hit
-
Force barrier has other properties to even it out. But yeah, warlocks have been OP since forever.
-
Chill the beatdown isn't as good as you think.
-
Then don't punch a sunsinger?
