I'm not that far in algebra but even I could solve this easily if I had some paper and wasn't tired atm

Wumbology is how I solved this You know, he wumbo, she wumbo, it's a simple process

1 AntwortenI could do this. I really could. But I don't wanna.

4 is only one answer
-
2 AntwortenI literally just leaned how took this today loo
-
Well since 4^3 = 4*4^2 and 6(4)=24 the x must be 4 if the equation equals 0

I haven't learned how to do this advanced of an algebra equation yet, I should learn it in the next month or so.
im in grade 9
1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Dabest: 2/23/2016 1:13:44 PMThere are 3 answers as it is a 3rd degree polynomial, and you can use grouping he made it very simple for us original equation=0 X^2(x-4)+6(x-4)=0 (X^2+6)(x-4)=0 So x-4=0 and with simple algebra, x=4. But that's only one answer. You still have x^2+6 to deal with. X^2+6=0 X^2=-6 Square root both sides, and add a principle +\- x= +\- i radical 6 Sorry no square root sign and can't make the fancy looking i which means imaginary and is equal to the square root of negative one. There are two answers there because you can have the -i radical 6 and the +i radical 6. So your final answers are: 4, i radical 6, -i radical 6 If you need to check the roots with Descartes you will get one real root and two imaginary (the answers with i)
