I keep reading comments that make it a foregone conclusion re-forge is bad. Why is it so? Is it because...
1. PvP players are afraid they'll see the same weapons over and over? (They already do now)
2. Some PvE players are afraid others will get stuff too easily and not "earn it"? (They already do now)
3. Many players will stick to only a few guns and ignore the rest? (They already do now)
All the arguments I've read against the idea are self-defeating in light of current and past behaviors of players. Re-forge will not cause things that are already happening to happeninger. What it WILL do is allow people to experiment on rolls with guns they would normally just dismantle. Maybe in the end individual players will find only a few guns to use, but they would be guns the players liked.

All about the perks.

Reforging wasn't bad but the perks you could roll were not balanced at the time. I think it can be reintroduced if they limit weapon types to certain perks

1 AntwortenEveryone will be running around with perfect rolls

6 AntwortenUnfortunately, too many people are willing to 'no life' this game to get the weapons that they want with the ideal perks. Bungie doesn't want to bring reforging back because people will grind less.
-
5 AntwortenIt leads to less weapon variety and completely devalues the roll the weapon is dropped with.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Kuhl MC: 2/23/2016 5:20:06 AMWhen HoW dropped, I was a big fan of re-forging, just to realize two weeks later, that it made almost every loot drop boring as hell; when the base stats of the weapon where somewhat lower, you dismantled it and stuck with your old gun. Now, on the other hand, we have so many crappy TTK perks in the perk pool, that it's almost impossible to get a proper roll on any weapon ( man, how I hate Hip Fire on LMGs or this foresaken Last Man Standing BS), except for the gunsmith packages. Here's my suggestion: Allow the player to give Banshee a weapon for re-forging. The weapon will be taken from you until the next weekly reset and then you will have the choice of three different perk combinations, the same way as with weapon packages. If you like one of them, you can claim your gun back or you can choose to give it another try. The re-forging fee could be legendary marks or strange coins, so you would have to decide, what to spend them on.

9 AntwortenBecause people are selfish pricks and they got lucky -blam!-ing drops in RNG and don't want anyone else to have their weapon.
-
6 AntwortenIt makes all the guns the same
-
8 AntwortenFelwinters lie Field choke Shot package Hammer forged Luck in the chamber Thats why
-
9 AntwortenBecause it reduces the grind. End of story.

I just wanna be able to change the perks on my weapons. It would add diversity to what you see other players using. Custom weapons would be even cooler but I don't see that happening ever.

36 AntwortenIt so bad, because 1. People either had enough resouces on hand----or could easily farm enough---to turn every weapon they wished to keep into one of the most powerful weapons in the game. 2. This is game-breaking in PVE because you then have to start designing content around this level of power. Or else people who have these weapons will make a mockery of it. By ending fights before they even begin. But if you do that, the fights get tediously---or impossibly----difficult for those players that don't have those weapons. 3. Its game breaking in PVP. Because those people who have those weapons have an palpable competitive advantage....and the whole PVP scene becomes one of trying to RE-CREATE those same God rolled weapons in order to be competitive. So what is a nice treat to one person (accidental God roll) becomes a new game mechanic. 4. Its game-breaking in both PVP and PVE....because people no longer get excited about loot drops. Because everything just becomes raw material for the weapon you wish to craft by throwing an endless succession of crafting materials at it. If you are going to have crafting in a loot based game, then it needs to basically be a means of TWEAKING weapons to suit an individual play style. Not a means of wholesale creation of God Guns. I think Ubisoft has the right idea. They'll be crafting system. But it will be expensive and timeconsuming to use. Rumor has it that crafting materials will be tiered. So you'll only be albe to craft that High-end (exotic) or Superior (Legendary) God gun after either taking apart several other weapons of similar quality.... ...or taking apart a SHITLOAD of other weapons of lesser quality. But in Destiny's current system, I would NOT allow reforging on the premesis....and would call the police if it showed up on my doorstep.

I like reforge but if everyone had the roll on a high impact hand cannon that I have on ill will would ruin regular crucible. Look and see for yourself https://youtu.be/sSmaRn6xf9g

If well designed perks were self lubricating, Bungie would be the king of the dry mount. That's why re-forging didn't work out.

I hated reforging. The excitement of the game comes from when you get a good roll on a gun. If you reforge guns, it reduces the gun pool drastically. I thought it was a great idea at first, but in practice it really made the game less fun.
-
2 AntwortenReforging isn't a bad idea but it was far too accessible in HoW. That led to random drops not being exciting because you would just reforge them to God roll. This also rendered some very good PoE weapons and Trials weapons less exciting too.
-
here's the thing though, its not...
-
It isn't...
-
2 AntwortenWell when you get a gun you can automatically make it what you want. So to players that makes it really really easy for everyone to have God roles on their guns I guess
-
3 AntwortenReforging needs to comeback because of digusting drop rate of guns. BUT, reforging needs to be really expensive so everybody doesnt get god rolls on all their guns within a week
-
14 AntwortenEveryone runs around with God rolls. That's why.
-
4 AntwortenBecause everyone just gets God rolls... It's fun for a while but did not take long for people to catch on that they just need to re-roll everything until they get exactly what they want.
-
It's NOT a bad idea. Reforge was great for the game. People whine saying the same thing over and over. Ow fel winter- whine whine. Shot package whine whine. Now we just get conspiracy theory D every time. Or people who get lucky and get God rolls while others can't get sht

Everyone gets the best possible roll
