I don't mean to "whine" or anything (Can one discuss game balancing in a community as toxic as this without being called a whiner?) but the MIDA seems to outgun almost every other weapon, unless it's fighting a shotgun, sniper, or one of the other meta primaries. This gun rests in a very strange archetype, which means that it shoots faster than a Scout Rifle in the Hung Jury archetype, but still kills in 4 headshots. This means that if one player with a Hung Jury and another with a MIDA were to play perfectly (Hitting only headshots at their weapon's maximum fire rate), the MIDA user would win every single time. Isn't that the very definition of overpowered?
On top of the fire rate to impact ratio that this gun has, it also has 90 aim assistance (The highest out of any scout rifle, making headshots incredibly easy to land), a hidden perk that gives it what is basically an upgraded High Caliber Rounds (Meaning their opponent has even more difficulty hitting the MIDA user), and increased agility while using the gun (I'm not complaining about this part, as I see it as a completely fair and balanced exotic perk, but it's kind of ridiculous that it comes along with every other advantage that this gun provides).
Dictionary Definition of Overpower (First Definition):

Superior force? Absolutely (As explained above). People often seem to think something has to two-shot like Thorn or melt like the Vex OPclast, but that's not always the case.
Also, to anybody saying that it should be overpowered because it's exotic, here's a quote from Bungie themselves:
Exotic Weapons are designed to look, feel, and sound overpowered. At the same time, they are not supposed to break the balance of the game. We hope these weapons challenge the way players think about their loadouts. Exotics will be a constant work in-progress!
Thanks for Reading.

5 AntwortenIt over powers everything. Anyone denying it is using as a crutch. I use it, but swap out other weapons to have fun.
-
It's not as good as you think it is. It's deadly in the right hands...but the same can be said of any weapon. I've actually noticed that less and less people are using mida....or at least I have run into very few people using it. Honestly, when I run mida I don't even fire it.....I use it for the speed boost and shotgun
-
2 AntwortenThe only thing I would do to the mida is to reduce the flinch
-
2 AntwortenOverpowered or not. (it is) when 75% of people in the crucible are running midas as a primary, something needs to change. Gun diversity is what sets destiny apart from halo. It's name is ironic these days, so many tools using multi tools.
-
I stopped reading when you said "meta".

1 AntwortenGreat, more people complaining. Nerf this, Nerf that, it's an endless cycle :/
-
5 AntwortenIt was the same in year one , stop complaining
-
2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Bruh: 2/17/2016 11:22:46 PMIt was the same in year one, everything else just needs to be buffed.
-
Mida has not changed since day 1. It is only good now because whiners nerfed everything else
-
2 AntwortenThe slower fire rate is due to only needing one headshot for a kill. Mida needs two
-
11 Antworten1) its an exotic, it should feel exotic. Its not OP its just very deadly in the right hands. 2) you quoted the Dictionary, the mother-blam!-ing dictionary?! nothing you say every again should be taken with more than a grain of salt 3) people like you, always calling for nerfs, is what is literally destroying this game.
-
4 AntwortenRemember people complaining about MIDA in year 1?
-
4 AntwortenThe only thing is change the mida's clip size from 21 to 15.
-
I've always hated the weapon
-
1 AntwortenThorn nerfed vex nerfed tlw nerfed hell everything nerfed we might as well just be using nerf guns soon just put the weapons back to day one power then play around with the exotics
-
It's not OP. While it does have a faster overall ttk than a hung jury type scout, it will punish you more for missing headshots than a hung jury type would. Body shot ttk on a hung jury type is 1.33 seconds while the Mida is 1.5. It's a fair risk/reward balance. If headshot ttk were the only factor in determining how OP a weapon is then the only scouts we should be seeing in crucible are the Jade Rabbit/Last Extremity types. They kill faster than Mida.
penis poll
1 AntwortenYou bring a good point. But it's still not that easy to hit 4 headshots in a row. Just like getting perfect kills in halo isn't very common.
-
7 AntwortenI will make my answer short and simple: If you get hit in the head 4 times by an opponent using MIDA Multitool, MIDA Multitool is not the problem. **Drops mic**
-
Jade Rabbit user here. My battles against MIDA users has been about 60/40 in my favor. Occasionally, I come across a top tier MIDA user who flips that ratio against me, but since they are better skilled they'd probably outclass me with any weapon :-/
-
uh it's an exotic and it's kind da not that amazing just has useful perks like radar ect..
-
3 AntwortenPlayers that say no are the reason players hate destiny right now
-
The reason everyone uses it is because it is the only weapon that can consistently kill snipers. Being up other primaries so that they can compete with specials.
-
Where's the op is a fgt option
-
2 Antworten73% says no. Guess you're wrong dude. Get good.
-
It's not op rather every other class of guns just suck in comparison
