I don't mean to "whine" or anything (Can one discuss game balancing in a community as toxic as this without being called a whiner?) but the MIDA seems to outgun almost every other weapon, unless it's fighting a shotgun, sniper, or one of the other meta primaries. This gun rests in a very strange archetype, which means that it shoots faster than a Scout Rifle in the Hung Jury archetype, but still kills in 4 headshots. This means that if one player with a Hung Jury and another with a MIDA were to play perfectly (Hitting only headshots at their weapon's maximum fire rate), the MIDA user would win every single time. Isn't that the very definition of overpowered?
On top of the fire rate to impact ratio that this gun has, it also has 90 aim assistance (The highest out of any scout rifle, making headshots incredibly easy to land), a hidden perk that gives it what is basically an upgraded High Caliber Rounds (Meaning their opponent has even more difficulty hitting the MIDA user), and increased agility while using the gun (I'm not complaining about this part, as I see it as a completely fair and balanced exotic perk, but it's kind of ridiculous that it comes along with every other advantage that this gun provides).
Dictionary Definition of Overpower (First Definition):

Superior force? Absolutely (As explained above). People often seem to think something has to two-shot like Thorn or melt like the Vex OPclast, but that's not always the case.
Also, to anybody saying that it should be overpowered because it's exotic, here's a quote from Bungie themselves:
Exotic Weapons are designed to look, feel, and sound overpowered. At the same time, they are not supposed to break the balance of the game. We hope these weapons challenge the way players think about their loadouts. Exotics will be a constant work in-progress!
Thanks for Reading.

First, your wrong. There's a whole archetype based on MIDA. It's the only one in ttk, but crypt dweller is a thing. There's tons of scouts just like it. They're marginally more effctive Second, it's .9 v .93. That's a rounding error, not game-breaking power. Finally, some perspective. That's the same effect as if MIDA had glass half full, which the smarter people know is borderline useless. If they changed the rate of fire on MIDA and added glass half full as a hidden exotic perk, no one would care.

7 AntwortenBearbeitet von Poolwizard: 2/17/2016 11:53:30 PMIt's op since it's a 4 shot that shoots faster than other 4 shot to kill guns.
-
1 AntwortenIt's the same as it's always been since year 1 Nothing's overpowered about it
-
Nothing wrong with mida in my opinion
-
Too long range lose to jade rabbit. Too close lose to last word. Medium range just right. Funny how that works.

4 AntwortenWtf is TL;DR

It's not OP...Bungie has nerfed all of the other primaries until it became very effective. It's been my crucible go to since launch. Oh well nerf it too I guess. Why should it be treated any different than any other high quality primary? :/
-
1 AntwortenMida is isn't op at least, not to me. I've managed to shoot into an entire clip into an enemy and 2 of the shots register it's bs but I guess it's bungie way of nerfing it
-
3 AntwortenIt's overused. It isn't overpowered.
-
5 AntwortenMIDA is not op. I found a blue scout with the same stats and wrecked with it. That type of scout is op, not the gun itself.
-
2 AntwortenEnough nerfing this is just getting utterly stupid. You know something is wrong when a gun like mida rises to the top. Nerfing subclasses and guns to the ground is stupid. Everything is so underpowered and Bungie thinks they are creating a balanced pvp environment. Oh look we are 700 years into the future but our guns can not shoot with max damage more then 5m away. Start buffing things.

2 AntwortenThis poll reminds of myself, one testicle is twice as big.
-
3 AntwortenIt's critical hit ttk is .90 seconds, while it's body shot ttk is 1.5 seconds. There are much more superior forces on the ttk playing field lol
-
1 Antworten"...but MIDA seems to outgun every other gun, unless it's fighting a shotgun, sniper, or other meta primaries" By this statement alone I can you MIDA is not OP. If other guns in the meta can outgun it, then it is obviously not overpowered. This statement means that there are ways to fight and win against it, meaning it is not a "superior force." All it means is that MIDA is one of the meta guns, and just because it can kill doesn't mean it's overpowered. Something that is overpowered would be able to beat every other primary and have a really tough time being countered, which MIDA can not do. I don't even use MIDA and I know that it does have weaknesses. It's just a matter of knowing when and when not to try and outshoot one
-
Overpowers by meaning it is a reliable gun and all other guns arent
-
2 AntwortenI hate being outgunned by every scout and pulse rifle, the fact that the long range weapons out fire my auto rifle and do more damage is bull shit
-
2 AntwortenBefore the most recent at buff, mida ruled. Now it's all about ar's.
-
2 AntwortenNo. The fact that people are posting " mida is OP" and "nerf mida" is actually depressing. The game needs no more nerfs. It needs buffs to primary weapon damage and range for several classes.
-
1 AntwortenOther weapons underpower MIDA.
-
2 AntwortenI dunno if it's just me but the mida is just garbage when I use it...so no it is not overpowered
-
1 AntwortenDon't nerf MIDA, simply just buff other primary weapons to allow for more things to compete.
-
2 AntwortenMeh, in terms of where most of the other weapons have been nerfed, yes Mida can be considered OP when put in comparison. That would also explain why it is so prevalent in the Crucible right now. If it wasn't as OP as other primaries then why am I not seeing a greater diversity in my matches? Weapons I've seen the most(recently): 1000-Yard Stare The Last Word Mida Hawksaw Hung Jury No Land Beyond(3v3) *interested in this* Truth(3v3) Invective (3v3) Icebreaker(3v3) and for a ridiculous reason: Thorn
Now, before you get testy on me because one of these weapons happens to be your fave, I've got no beef with you. These are just the weapons that I've seen the most recently because they are either doing really well, are better off than others or simply have an advantage in Crucible games. I do not detest any of them(except Thorn for obvious reasons)
Sure, someone who would argue against my opinion on Mida would say that they do not see it too often nor use it, but I'm not taking into account the repetitive matches. I'm talking about joining different matches with different people each time. Surely, it is no coincidence that many players are using weapons like these.
I also don't care about skill when talking about this. A decent player might not even use those listed weapons because they've learned to work with something else that they are more comfortable with. I can relate with my Dis-47 and Glass Progeny.
1 Antworten
unless it's fighting a shotgun, sniper, or one of the other meta primaries
So what does it over power then? Lmao
-
There's more OP scout rifle archetypes than MIDA. AKA The High Road Soldier. Get over the MIDA. It's been the same since Y1 but all other primaries have just been nerfed shit.
-
Mida has stayed the same since year one when it comes to DPS so when another OU weapon meta is nerfed (most notably hand canons then pulses) Mida was just exceptionally hated that's how it works if you need mida or scout meta types then something else will be targeted so I mean it really doesn't matter
-
5 AntwortenIt over powers everything. Anyone denying it is using as a crutch. I use it, but swap out other weapons to have fun.
