I don't mean to "whine" or anything (Can one discuss game balancing in a community as toxic as this without being called a whiner?) but the MIDA seems to outgun almost every other weapon, unless it's fighting a shotgun, sniper, or one of the other meta primaries. This gun rests in a very strange archetype, which means that it shoots faster than a Scout Rifle in the Hung Jury archetype, but still kills in 4 headshots. This means that if one player with a Hung Jury and another with a MIDA were to play perfectly (Hitting only headshots at their weapon's maximum fire rate), the MIDA user would win every single time. Isn't that the very definition of overpowered?
On top of the fire rate to impact ratio that this gun has, it also has 90 aim assistance (The highest out of any scout rifle, making headshots incredibly easy to land), a hidden perk that gives it what is basically an upgraded High Caliber Rounds (Meaning their opponent has even more difficulty hitting the MIDA user), and increased agility while using the gun (I'm not complaining about this part, as I see it as a completely fair and balanced exotic perk, but it's kind of ridiculous that it comes along with every other advantage that this gun provides).
Dictionary Definition of Overpower (First Definition):

Superior force? Absolutely (As explained above). People often seem to think something has to two-shot like Thorn or melt like the Vex OPclast, but that's not always the case.
Also, to anybody saying that it should be overpowered because it's exotic, here's a quote from Bungie themselves:
Exotic Weapons are designed to look, feel, and sound overpowered. At the same time, they are not supposed to break the balance of the game. We hope these weapons challenge the way players think about their loadouts. Exotics will be a constant work in-progress!
Thanks for Reading.

1 AntwortenIt isn't overpowered. Everything else was just nerfed to shit and sucks in comparison.
-
2 AntwortenSo, you don't have one.

2 Antworten2/18/2015 - Get in game messages praising the use of MIDA in matches filled with Thorn/TLW spam Fast forward a year with no changes being done to the weapon 2/18/2016 - Massive hatemail & rage caused by using the MIDA even though the weapon itself hasn't changed at all

Jade rabbit can 3 shot with one body shot that's far more op than mida and it's not op at all. Mida is just a well rounded gun, good for quick snappy shots very overused but far from op. The 3 shot scouts are and will always be better imo.

3 AntwortenDear Bungie Please Nerf Scissors Rocks are OK Just nerf those Fkin Scissors as they are so over powered!! Thanks Paper

70% of the community doesn't want their crutches nerfed

It overpowers pulse rifles from a distance... it loses to autos and handcannons up close... I think it's fine

43 AntwortenSo basically, you are saying that because of its archetype, that makes it overpowered, since it can kill in 4 shots, but fires faster than the Hung Jury archetype. You are aware that there are legendary scout rifles that have the same archetype as MIDA? And come come with better perks than that useless speed perk? So if MIDA is OP because of its archetype, so are all the legendary scouts like it. #TitanMasterRace

Nah u a b!tch

It's the user not the gun. I've got a pretty nasty rare Scout Rifle called the Lampad that holds its own against MIDA.

TL; DR Op is fgt

Ad a person who doesn't have a mida, gets killed with it a lot in the crucible, and still really wants one, it's not overpowered. It can be taken out with basically anything. Even a telesto can stop mida. A legendary with a good roll will shut them down. You have to be good at the game and adapt to different circumstances.

1 AntwortenBuff autorifles and people will stop complaining about mida I guarantee that.
-
CMON. Just got Tlaloc and it is soo much better than MIDA. It can outgun it 80% of the time, and 90% when the super is charged
-
Mida was very good in year 1 it was one of the top tier weapons besides thorn tlw vex and red death all these weapons were nerfed hcs, pulse rifle, fusion rifle now the top tier weapons are tlw and Mida wtf
-
This weapon the Mida has been untouched since it's appearance in year one. After countless nerf posts and requests this perfectly balanced weapon seems over powered when it is just simply over used not the same thing. No matter what type of "weapon balance" is deployed there will be a weapon that is found to work beast and become over used, then we will find ourselves here again saying that it is OP. In closing the mida is fine I've outgunned it plenty of times with various weapons, it's an exotic and it acts as such.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von AeroXero: 2/18/2016 7:37:06 AMPeople should realize that nerfing weapons over and over again will just result in more and more dislike towards PvP. It makes it stale, and boring. Instead of nerfing a fun-to-use gun like Mida, why not buff all the other guns? I've been a user of Mida since early Year 1, and now that all the other good weapons have been nerfed, Mida is being put into that group as well because all the other guns are sh!t and it happens to shine the best at this moment. Imo I think Mida is perfectly balanced, and even after a hypothetical all-weapon buff, Mida should still have that slightly superior feeling since its exotic.

The issue in a live game is that the gear is like the food chain. Once you attempt to remove the apex predator from that food chain, something else will take its place. Many people were displeased with the era of exotic hand cannons particularly Thorn and TLW. That gave way for the era of Pulse Rifles and so on. MIDA has always been the same and hasn't received any amazing buffs or nerfs. The weapons around it have though which has allowed it to thrive.

The Mida has literally come back unchanged from Year 1. It's all I ever used and in my opinion the best primary exotic. It was sorely underrated in year 1 because Thorn, Suros and Hawkmoon reigned supreme. No one complained it was OP in year 1? But because it's one of a few returning exotics, more people are using it and are discovering it for the first time. It's not OP, your just getting shot by it more because people don't have access to the amazing Year 1 primary exotics. Thorn hasn't carried over, Suros is in a weird spot, and Hawkmoon just isn't the same monster anymore. Plus Year 2 primary exotics just aren't as good in PVP in my opinion.

It's ok just get closer to the person n it's game over for him.

Bro.. shutttt uppp

Overused does not mean overpowered. There are plenty of scouts that can outperform mida with the right perks. However, the right perks are RNG. Mida comes with the same perks for everyone. The only thing the mida has that no other scout does is a very high aim assist. But it's 90 aim assist comes at the cost of your exotic slot. That's balanced.

4 AntwortenIt's the most balanced scout in the game. It's just everything else sucks right now.
