Overall Thoughts on Fusion Rifles (Patch 2.1)

Hey everyone. I just wanted to share this collection that I have been working on lately. It is a short video that includes a number of fusion rifles kills, with a variety of different archetypes. The purpose was to display some of the long-range potential that fusion rifles have, even in Patch 2.1. This is not a montage to show off my skills, and there are also many close to mid-range engagements included. This collection doesn't just feature the Thesan FR4 or Plan C, but rather a variety of fusion rifles that I would typically use. Though, many Plan C clips are shown since it is in fact, my favorite weapon in Destiny. I want to make it clear that, some of the ranges that are shown in this video are never really consistent. Actually, even when in short-range engagements, the consistency of my favorite guns have been reduced considerably due to all of the nerfs that the sandbox team have done. It actually makes me rather disappointed, to be honest. I have never complained about this game in the past. Bladedancer and other classes? Whatever, I'll deal with it. Thorn and TLW? They were annoying but, I dealt with it. Lack of content? Doesn't matter to me, I have yet to attempt the King's Fall Raid in TTK, I have plenty to do. How about skill-based matchmaking? Didn't care, I was still able to have a blast. My first complaint was during 2.0, as I noticed how inaccurate fusion rifles were when compared to how they were in House of Wolves. Regardless, I adapted and was able to become very strong with fusion rifles. I did really well in Trials with them, too. However, 2.1 was the final nail in the coffin for me. I have expressed my frustration enough, so I won't go into detail as to how disappointed I am with the sandbox team and how they have handled these weapons. Never before have I said that, "I would do better with a sniper rifle". However, for the first time, I said these words shortly after 2.1 was released. It's funny, isn't it? Snipers, despite their power, utility, presence in both PVE /PVP, and forgiving mechanics are left untouched. Fusion rifles? They.....are constantly belittled and nerfed. That's okay, however. I hope the Sandbox team is proud of themselves (judging from some recent interviews, this would seem to be the case).... "DISTANCE" is the final Destiny video that I wanted to make, one being dedicated to fusion rifles. I hope that, other Fusion Rifle users can appreciate this. What does everyone think about Fusion rifles at the moment (especially after the special ammo changes)? Are there any specific fusion rifles that you currently love or use to adore during Year One?

 • I've been using fusion rifles since HOW; I manage over a 2.0 k/d in most crucible gametypes and I agree with you. Simply put: fusion rifles in 2.1 cannot compete against top-tier, smart PVP players, that's simply how it is. I can't help but feel like the skill ceiling for them is significantly lower than other special weapon types because they are literally just too inconsistent not to mention simply their design flaws. Design flaws meaning 1. High impact/range fusions just simply don't have rewarding enough effective range for the time it takes to charge them and how incredibly penalizing it is to miss your shots (which is more often than not). 2. Fast charging fusions (aside from Plan C) are literally sub-par in their intended roles because their effective range is almost no further than shotguns when you consider the poor stability added in 2.1.
