My son, who has no Xbox account of his own, has watched me play destiny wide eyed since the Beta, recently expressed his desire to create his own character and try.
Sure, I could've created an account for him, or done a thousand different things. But I'd rather see his happy expression when he plays his new Exo, than have a warlock I hardly ever play.
Am I stupid? Probably.
Am I a sentamentalist? Probably.
Was it worth it? Definitely.
Why'd I share this?
Destiny is a lot of different things for a lot of different people. But for one moment, it was something that made my son and I smile.
And that's what it's really all about.
NOTE: I know not everyone will understand or agree, or there will be those that can point out the hundred different ways I could have done this. If you're going to insult, be rude, etc. all you're going to get is blocked. So please, if you don't like this one, just move on.
And....done.
To all of you with kind words, suggestions or those that appreciate the fact I was trying to share some good with others, I thank you. You are the reason why I continue to play Destiny.
And to all of you that chimed in with insults, various slurs and derogatory comments about me seeking attention, I thank you as well. Because you've reminded me of the ignorance, hate and malice that consumes those trolling the forums, and I also remember know why I don't approach others in good faith for adventuring, raiding or anything for that matter, in the world of Destiny.

I don't understand. Why didn't u just make your son an Xbox account. It's free
-
That's cool, but depending on your skill level, you may have ruined his experience if he wants to play pvp with the sbmm. It is a nice gesture tho
-
You gonna give him some exotics? Maybe a crispy 320 MIDA? Have fun mate.

Nice thing to do. I like seeing posts like this instead of these Nerf/venom posts. Congrats man.

Great post. Destiny has similar meaning for me as well. My son and I played Borderlands together. When we saw the trailer for Destiny we both was wide eyed and couldnt wait. He has his own system and T.V. in our gaming room. I play Destiny with him. Believe it or not playing video games is a good way to knock down barriers. My son is very shy and it's hard to get him to talk about issues, school, and life.... I always start conversations off with him talking about games; like destiny, then jump into talking to him about life, school, and etc.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von AfghaniClownPcrn: 2/14/2016 12:44:29 PMWhy the hell would you give up your hours of hard work so your son could (maybe) put about 5 hours of play time in total in the game. I'm really not trying to say your stupid, I'm just saying you should probably have questioned that. P.S. Don't EVER let him do share play if it's PS4 because of this video

12 AntwortenDo whatever makes you happy.. but why are you telling us about it?

1 AntwortenWow, you let Ure son play a game? Father of the year right here folks. I hope get a medal for all your hard work. Or not

But...but
warloclmasterrace? T_T
Good on you. If one of my kids wanted to play, I'd probably do the same thing if I had no open character slot. Some people can just be hateful douchebags, and it reminds me of when I was a teenager why I stopped playing online games with people I didn't know personally.

That was worth it

Bearbeitet von Guffmuffin: 2/14/2016 2:05:02 PMTry not to take negative comments to heart. Unfortunately there is a minority that exists that take pleasure from insulting and offending other people without provocation or legitimate reason. Try and feel some pity and understanding for these people as those poor souls have to live with themselves every day. You at least can mute them and never have the misfortune of hearing from them again.

Congrats ur now in the top 1% of nice people on the fourms

I have never made a 3rd character because my little brother has always wanted to play.
