I deleted my level 40 warlock so my son could play.
My son, who has no Xbox account of his own, has watched me play destiny wide eyed since the Beta, recently expressed his desire to create his own character and try.
Sure, I could've created an account for him, or done a thousand different things. But I'd rather see his happy expression when he plays his new Exo, than have a warlock I hardly ever play.
Am I stupid? Probably.
Am I a sentamentalist? Probably.
Was it worth it? Definitely.
Why'd I share this?
Destiny is a lot of different things for a lot of different people. But for one moment, it was something that made my son and I smile.
And that's what it's really all about.
NOTE: I know not everyone will understand or agree, or there will be those that can point out the hundred different ways I could have done this. If you're going to insult, be rude, etc. all you're going to get is blocked. So please, if you don't like this one, just move on.
And....done.
To all of you with kind words, suggestions or those that appreciate the fact I was trying to share some good with others, I thank you. You are the reason why I continue to play Destiny.
And to all of you that chimed in with insults, various slurs and derogatory comments about me seeking attention, I thank you as well. Because you've reminded me of the ignorance, hate and malice that consumes those trolling the forums, and I also remember know why I don't approach others in good faith for adventuring, raiding or anything for that matter, in the world of Destiny.

4 AntwortenI have a 13 year old son.....he wanted to try the game out....I made him a new gamertag in less the 3 mins.....added him to my xbox live family account..... He was up and playing with his own character and own gamertag (which I set to private) in a grand total of 10 mins. I tell my kid to always think and find the smartest way of doing something. Erasing one of my characters (that I've put in alot time into) wouldn't have been a smart thing.

Keep up the fight brother! Ignore the neckbearded asshats on these forums.... My 6 year old used an empty slot I had on the 360 and created his first exo titan last night. Same as yours, he's been getting more and more interested in it, and wanting to play. That came in real handy when farming for materials for the sword...lemme tell you, lol. Anyway, it was awesome to watch him get all excited as he made his toons and then run him all the way to 5 or so on his own. Good times!

Can you explain why you didn't make him an account? It's free and gold is free for that Account as well....

My friends son watches him all the time. He was sword bearer a few times on Crota back in the day...and he was 3 at the time. He's also run totems with us on KF before.

I have 2 xbones and I can't wait til my son is old enough to play games with his old man. I'll probably have to get him his own acct tho so we can co op in the basement on separate TVs.

All my characters were made from people in my family and the class was chosen by them :3 Hunter: Created by my mom, level 40 Titan by my little brother, and my other Titan by my girlfriend :3

Is he's on 360 he is welcome to play with my clan, we run strikes and raid with low lvls every now and then.

I have 2 playstations as well as 2 accounts. Me and my wife have been playing destiny for a bit. About a month ago tho my nephew came down to visit for a week. He really wanted to play destiny but I had no room to create a character. So I did the same thing you did. Deleted a character to let him start fresh. I then played on the other account and helped him learn the game. I completely agree that it was worth it.

I would have made him his own account so i could play with him. Assuming you only have one xbox though.
