My son, who has no Xbox account of his own, has watched me play destiny wide eyed since the Beta, recently expressed his desire to create his own character and try.
Sure, I could've created an account for him, or done a thousand different things. But I'd rather see his happy expression when he plays his new Exo, than have a warlock I hardly ever play.
Am I stupid? Probably.
Am I a sentamentalist? Probably.
Was it worth it? Definitely.
Why'd I share this?
Destiny is a lot of different things for a lot of different people. But for one moment, it was something that made my son and I smile.
And that's what it's really all about.
NOTE: I know not everyone will understand or agree, or there will be those that can point out the hundred different ways I could have done this. If you're going to insult, be rude, etc. all you're going to get is blocked. So please, if you don't like this one, just move on.
And....done.
To all of you with kind words, suggestions or those that appreciate the fact I was trying to share some good with others, I thank you. You are the reason why I continue to play Destiny.
And to all of you that chimed in with insults, various slurs and derogatory comments about me seeking attention, I thank you as well. Because you've reminded me of the ignorance, hate and malice that consumes those trolling the forums, and I also remember know why I don't approach others in good faith for adventuring, raiding or anything for that matter, in the world of Destiny.

110 AntwortenBearbeitet von Cellspot: 2/14/2016 12:39:44 PMStupid for sacrificing a third video game character for your sons enjoyment? You are stupid for thinking it might be stupid, not for actually doing it. If this was a tough sacrifice for you to make for your son, I feel bad for the kid.

7 AntwortenIn Soviet Russia they delete Son for level 40 Warlock.
-
Good story.
-
3 AntwortenWhy the 40 warlock and not that level 25? Delete the one you put less work into. Less work to lose.

I have 2 profiles on ps4 and 6 characters...can you have 2 on Xbox?
-
Why didn't you just start another profile I have 2 profiles and six players it would have been fun you two to start over. Just saying...

Yea know, when I was little my dad played Decent a lot. He would let me play, but got mad when I did certain things. ( one day he asked me not to use his missiles or something ) it turned it into somewhat of a negative experience. I think what you did is pretty awesome. Thanks for sharing.
-
Okay? I deleted over 5 char at max lvl...
-
1 AntwortenGet him his own console, if you enjoyed watching him play, imagine how fun it will be to tackle content together.
-
That's awesome man. Me and my dad play a miniatures game together and it's great fun and a good subject for us to talk about. If you want to take it to the next level, you could buy him his own xbox. Imagine how fun it would be to play together.

You are a good dad

5 AntwortenThis. In years to come when destiny is no longer the big craze for people to play and everyone has forgotten it, this guy will remember. Not because he got to shove a hammer down oryx throat, or was able to decapitate crota with a sword, or even burning people to death with thorn in crucible. No. This guy will remember it because of the joy of being a parent and being able to give a gift of happiness to his son. A gift that was so cheap the price was to give up only one of his character slots. Some of you who are not parents won't understand this and talk about ways to do it without giving up the character but as a parent. Giving up something like that for your son is so much more rewarding. On this day this man became a hero. In the eyes of his son he is a hero. The best type of hero a parent can hope for. You sir are a true mvp.

1 AntwortenI bought my step son his own PS4 + Destiny just so he could play with me. It's awesome
-
Go make your son a new account mate, that way he will have all three classes☺ we'll done tho👍

You're a winner in my book. My oldest daughter has pretty much the same story. She just recently started asking when she was going to get to play with me rather than just watch. Lucky for her she has a birthday coming up. I guess she's getting an xbox1 and Destiny. Running her through VOG the first time is going to be so much fun.

This was dumb. Title sounds like it has a negative connotation. And body makes it seems like you're the nicest person ever. It's not like you really lost anything other than xp. Get over yourself bra
