Hey everyone. I just wanted to share this collection that I have been working on lately. It is a short video that includes a number of fusion rifles kills, with a variety of different archetypes. The purpose was to display some of the long-range potential that fusion rifles have, even in Patch 2.1. This is not a montage to show off my skills, and there are also many close to mid-range engagements included. This collection doesn't just feature the Thesan FR4 or Plan C, but rather a variety of fusion rifles that I would typically use. Though, many Plan C clips are shown since it is in fact, my favorite weapon in Destiny.
I want to make it clear that, some of the ranges that are shown in this video are never really consistent. Actually, even when in short-range engagements, the consistency of my favorite guns have been reduced considerably due to all of the nerfs that the sandbox team have done. It actually makes me rather disappointed, to be honest.
I have never complained about this game in the past. Bladedancer and other classes? Whatever, I'll deal with it. Thorn and TLW? They were annoying but, I dealt with it. Lack of content? Doesn't matter to me, I have yet to attempt the King's Fall Raid in TTK, I have plenty to do. How about skill-based matchmaking? Didn't care, I was still able to have a blast.
My first complaint was during 2.0, as I noticed how inaccurate fusion rifles were when compared to how they were in House of Wolves. Regardless, I adapted and was able to become very strong with fusion rifles. I did really well in Trials with them, too. However, 2.1 was the final nail in the coffin for me. I have expressed my frustration enough, so I won't go into detail as to how disappointed I am with the sandbox team and how they have handled these weapons.
Never before have I said that, "I would do better with a sniper rifle". However, for the first time, I said these words shortly after 2.1 was released. It's funny, isn't it? Snipers, despite their power, utility, presence in both PVE /PVP, and forgiving mechanics are left untouched. Fusion rifles? They.....are constantly belittled and nerfed.
That's okay, however. I hope the Sandbox team is proud of themselves (judging from some recent interviews, this would seem to be the case).... "DISTANCE" is the final Destiny video that I wanted to make, one being dedicated to fusion rifles. I hope that, other Fusion Rifle users can appreciate this.
What does everyone think about Fusion rifles at the moment (especially after the special ammo changes)? Are there any specific fusion rifles that you currently love or use to adore during Year One?

2 AntwortenI hate how I can ohk someone at just stupid ranges sometimes, like, you have no business even aiming a fusion rifle at these ranges, but i full on all bolts hit to the body at close range and it does 50% Disappointing

1 AntwortenAppreciated your in depth observations. I started using Fusion Rifles after 2.1 and have been enjoying it. Took a bold step, went into IB Rift with Plan C + Thesan FR4 and had a blast! Can't believe myself as I have successfully stopped spark carrier easily using Fusion Rifles. Got a few Ashraven's Flight from IB drop and I could say that they are very good too. I do not use Accelerated Coils but prefer snap shot or any perks that increase the range. Not too worried about stability, always aimed at lower torso and let the coil upkick do the rest. I just wished Fusion Rifle are more reliable at longer ranges even without Rangefinder perk. Nevertheless, I'm glad that I've pickup fusions and enjoyed PvP.

2 AntwortenAlthough im mainly a sniper (have been since the alpha) i have been experimenting with my trolley problem, its so fun but holy blam is it inconsistant at any range. Sometimes i get a long range kill and am like "yea right, luck, all luck, that will never happen again, i bet that person is having a rage right now :p" and other times i get a short range shot right into a person and im like "wth, you barely even took damage, how the... whatever...on to my next victim or death i guess." The hit box is large, i wont deny that but damage is inconsistant at all ranges and although they are fun to use they really need a buff to bring it consitancy, ive killed with 1 fusion line and ive died by 1 fusion line (like its shot spread out, and 1 line of rifle damage hit me and i died, that shouldnt happen, I should die from getting hit by most of the spread, if this makes any sense.) Either way they are still fun to use and vastly underused by the playerbase, so when im looking to mess around ill be using them.

10 AntwortenI'm just waiting for them to re-buff Fusion rifles, and see everyone and their grandma suddenly start to claim they always used them... (aka MIDA bandwagoners etc)

I use to be able to wreck with my Plug ONE.1, but ever since the latest patch, I've felt that Fusion Rifles have started to handle very differently, and even the stats and perks don't really tell the full story, and can even be deceptive.

Everyone be quiet about fusion or they will be -blam!-ed again, BTW I love using fusion.

1 AntwortenDude, that's some sweet Fusion Rifle action. Kudos!

They need a little buff

1 AntwortenI've been using fusion rifles since HOW; I manage over a 2.0 k/d in most crucible gametypes and I agree with you. Simply put: fusion rifles in 2.1 cannot compete against top-tier, smart PVP players, that's simply how it is. I can't help but feel like the skill ceiling for them is significantly lower than other special weapon types because they are literally just too inconsistent not to mention simply their design flaws. Design flaws meaning 1. High impact/range fusions just simply don't have rewarding enough effective range for the time it takes to charge them and how incredibly penalizing it is to miss your shots (which is more often than not). 2. Fast charging fusions (aside from Plan C) are literally sub-par in their intended roles because their effective range is almost no further than shotguns when you consider the poor stability added in 2.1.

1 Antwortenpatch 2.1 has a bug pocket infinity shows that I killed one but get all ammo back the spread is very wide on this archetype and random too they say it has a better ads and hipfire more range but nothing of this is true fusion are good specially the omolon types but all of these are worse than patch 2.0 low range low stability fusion rifles (pocket infinity) it's for me the random rifle

Pocket Infinity laughs in the face of those who need Ice Breaker, Invective and Sidearms to get their Special Ammo

Fusions were amazingly accurate in 2.0 and 2.1 messed with 'em. They work great, still, however. I've got more fusion kills than shotgun/sniper, by a massive amount. I know how fusions used to be, and they're a heck of a lot easier to control now (except for them old max stability plan C's). Just kinda bugs me that each bolt hit 47 in pvp, so 5 hits are required for a kill.
-
4 AntwortenThey are extremely inconsistent, but if those inconsistencies were worked out, they would be in a good place.

1 AntwortenGood post. Thanks for sharing that nice clip. Yes, fusion rifles are my favorite gun too. Kinda had to relearn how to use them since they fiddled with them but they still are amazing... Not as before but yeah.
-
Plan c, should be Plan A.. its amazing. Not year 1 amazing, silent but deadly. Lets keep it on the low tho
-
1 AntwortenHigh impact fusion rifles are the most consistent with high stability. Medium or lower impact fusions are very inconsistent even with high stability at times. They just need to be more consistent with dmg. That's all I'd ask of them.
