My Crimson Doubles experience, why did this game mode bring out the WORST in the community?
Just so you know this is a public event for all skill types.
It's not a competitive game mode like Trials, even though it's pretty much a carbon copy. And I know everyone will try to tear that statement apart but this event was essentially created for people to get together and have fun.
The fact that people are:
- Thorn or Ice Breaker whoring
- Special ammo exploiting with sidearms
- Teabagging & acting arrogant
- Waiting by special for it to drop every round
- etc etc, I'm sure others could add to this but this is what I've experienced so far
Just goes to show how vile the tactics of the majority of the community has gotten, and that every chance they get to try to turn a casual game into a severely competitive one, they do.
I will continue to play till I get that chocolate Ghost but once I have, I'm out and the event will have served its purpose for me.
Does anyone else feel similar or different?
Would like to hear others opinions. Keep it civil please.

Since many people are misinterpreting what my post is about by not paying attention to what I'm saying. I'm not trying to dictate what weapons people can use, just stating an opinion on them. I'm not trying to dictate how one has fun, I'm just addressing how I feel about it. This is nothing more then a rant about my experience in Crimson Doubles so far, and then I asked you guys whether you could relate to it or felt different about it. Hopefully more will understand now before replying.

Thanks for getting this to over 1000 replies, now although I took a lot of heat I tried to reply to everyone to clarify my position so that we all had an understanding. Thanks to those who spoke up along side me and let it be known that I wasn't the only one experiencing it.

I've been using my primary like I always have If I have special ammo of course I'll use it Handcannons don't as far as they did in year 1 The damage drop off is kind of crazy since majority of y2 handcannons are low range, high stability

4 AntwortenTbh I played it Tuesday and didn't enjoy the sweaty elements, the thorns, icebreakers, sidearms, the camping on special then everybody switching to 1k yard stare, the teabagging and so on. I too was hoping this would be a fun game mode, but essentially it's trials 2v2. They should have just made it primaries only, that would make it more fun.

Totally understand what your saying. Not the best at PvP, but didn't expect such behavior and didn't think I would see those guns again. Didn't let those using them use them again the following round lol.

thorns shit now yes players do wait for special so throw your nades there when they go to pick it up ice breaker is a little op if you have a good sniper with it but it can be beaten in most cases I'm not Evan a great pvp player but I still kick most people asses with super cell , last word , no time to explain or mida multi-tool don't get me wrong I don't think pvp is the best but there slowly getting there

2 AntwortenBy special ammo exploiting do you mean starting with a sidearm and killing yourself/or changing weapons after round 1? I use a sidearm because I refuse to use shotguns, not because I spawn with ammo. Also have little use for a sniper since the jade rabbit is my go to primary.

I like icebreaker in regular crucible for sniper maps. Hell of a weapon so this mode didn't do jack. Just helps with the stupid special ammo crap. They should just have no carry over special ammo each round if they want to stop the "glitch"

The issue with this game mode is that bungie made it skill based matchmaking for some unholy reason. Therefore it matches you with people of your skill level and forces the game to be sweaty. It also did show all of the current issues in the crucible atm like you mentioned

4 AntwortenMost of the things you listed are basic tactics. Why wouldn't you wait by the special ammo container? It's a resource on the battlefield and not controlling resources is dumb. Thorn and ice breaker are good weapons. Why wouldn't you use them? Are you purposely trying to lose? And I've played about 15 games so far, a small sample size to be sure, but I've yet to see any t-bagging or anti-social behavior. Even in games we won 5-0 and in games we got stomped 0-5. And only one game where the other team suicided.

4 AntwortenI don't understand. Do you expect people to just casually walk around the map and maybe shoot at you? Crucible is a competitive area. That's what it is intended to do.

5 AntwortenI still find it rather delusional of those thinking a competitive mode won't be competitive. You are literally complaining about human nature, all because you yourself can't compete with them. Yeah exploits and weak confidence lacking players relying on ammo suck, as well as arrogant players. That's people for you though, just have to deal with them one at a time.

5 AntwortenI just laugh when people run double self res lock, ice breaker and or thorn. If you wanna try hard, then try hard sir. As for me, I'll be running Around trying new/different load outs playing for funs. Win or lose, still got the same odds for the same gear as you :).

I love this game type. The games are quick, and its got exclusive loot. It's a great way to just have fun with a buddy

1 AntwortenCalls the community vile and then says to keep it civil. Take your own advice first of all. SBMM has ruined crucible for a lot of people. Every match is against similarly skilled players do people look for what will give them the slight edge. Once Bungie fixes MM so it's random in sure people will take it less seriously.

1 AntwortenWas fun when everyone was messing around. Annoying for the try hards who literally camp hard scoping 2 angles the entire game and don't friggen move. This meta is painstakingly slow and it's only magnified the smaller the playlist gets. I saw someone using ice breaker and that made me want to dust it off not thinking it was an exploit around special Ammo. Got hate mail immediately the next game by some kid using thorn / felwinters lol. Apparently icebreaker is more of a "crutch" then year 1 body shot spam with dot and sunsinger firebolt grenades. Whatever tho. I found some games enjoyable some so annoying I would have rather backed out and not even bother. Events like these have potential for fun. It's the community that ends up ruining them.

1 AntwortenIt's destiny, who cares what weapon people use, who cares if teams want to wait for special, it's all part of the game and anyone can play how they want. You want to complain about suicide grinders I would understand but damn people like to drowned this game in salt because other people don't play how they think everyone should.

I understand, people lost they joy of playing games along time ago. I say it really started in Modern Warfare 2, well that's when I noticed it and it spread throughout gaming. K/D started to matter, kids watched MLG CoD players or Troll YouTubers and wanted the "fame" they had and fun disappeared. Try hards and trolls appeared everywhere and gaming hasn't been the same again especially FPS. I know that trolling and try hards have probably been around ever since the Internets creation but since MW2 it has gotten much much bigger. That is just my theory ...... a game theory I would love it for people to use what you want and not care for K/D and just have fun. I helped a sick guy through Crimson Doubles who usually ended up with 1 or 2 kills but we had fun and won several games. Games are fun and relaxing so JUST DO IT!
