Just so you know this is a public event for all skill types.
It's not a competitive game mode like Trials, even though it's pretty much a carbon copy. And I know everyone will try to tear that statement apart but this event was essentially created for people to get together and have fun.
The fact that people are:
- Thorn or Ice Breaker whoring
- Special ammo exploiting with sidearms
- Teabagging & acting arrogant
- Waiting by special for it to drop every round
- etc etc, I'm sure others could add to this but this is what I've experienced so far
Just goes to show how vile the tactics of the majority of the community has gotten, and that every chance they get to try to turn a casual game into a severely competitive one, they do.
I will continue to play till I get that chocolate Ghost but once I have, I'm out and the event will have served its purpose for me.
Does anyone else feel similar or different?
Would like to hear others opinions. Keep it civil please.
EDIT:
Since many people are misinterpreting what my post is about by not paying attention to what I'm saying. I'm not trying to dictate what weapons people can use, just stating an opinion on them. I'm not trying to dictate how one has fun, I'm just addressing how I feel about it. This is nothing more then a rant about my experience in Crimson Doubles so far, and then I asked you guys whether you could relate to it or felt different about it. Hopefully more will understand now before replying.
Smaller edit:
Thanks for getting this to over 1000 replies, now although I took a lot of heat I tried to reply to everyone to clarify my position so that we all had an understanding. Thanks to those who spoke up along side me and let it be known that I wasn't the only one experiencing it.
Other edit:
Hit 1100 replies. Got a lot more attention then any other thread I've created. Also didn't expect this initially as many of my other ones died really quickly.

1 AntwortenI need to rant about this shitty skill based matchmaking I'm trying to get the Chaperone quest done, and to get the first part, you need well over a 2 kd (because it's like 1% a kill and -2% a death) But it keeps throwing me in matches where every single person has between a .9 and a 1.1 by the end of the match How the -blam!- can you even do this unless you get insanely lucky with matchmaking
-
I put my traveler mask on, equip thorn,.t bag everyone. Its is a blast.
-
Trust me it wasn't Crimson Doubles that brought it out, PvP in general has brought it out in this and every other game.
-
1 AntwortenIt's like a flash back to year one PVP. Thorns, BBQ nade warlocks. It's quite frustrating. And it also reminded me that although Thorn died, I don't miss playing against these sweaty archetypes. Really isn't fun at all.

Bearbeitet von シOblivionシ: 2/15/2016 12:40:15 AMI played and only met one team of trials try hards. They sniped us on the first match and we died real quick. We then rushed them every match with side arms and shotguns. We beat them 5 to 1 They were not happy. You should see them run. They took a shot then ran like hell. We chased them down and killed them. I don't think they knew what a primary was used for. Every other match was fun with varied weapons. No ice breaker or thorn.

I thought it was alright.... I thoroughly enjoyed it... All though what did amuse me most was the absolute idiots jumping of the side or killing themselves! What sad little lives those people must lead... Play the game and have some fun for fück sake!
-
4 AntwortenThe worst? Lol...the community has always been the worst community I've ever encountered. There's not a community that even comes close to this toxic wasteland of illogical, childish, addicted, morons.
-
1 AntwortenBefore anyone plays. Expect Ice Breaker, Thorn, Self Res, Invective. Carry on.
-
The point of the game is to win, and people will do what they can to make it happen.
-
9 AntwortenStopped reading after the ice breaker comment. Everyone wants Y1 stuff relevant again and then cries when people bust out Y1 stuff consistently.
-
This game by Bungled and Spazzyfriction has brought the gaming community to a new low. It will never recover. £uck on you all for being so greedy.
-
Crimson Doubles was definitely not 100% laid back.
-
I did decently. I'm not that great at PvP, but my clan mates that I fire teamed with instructed me on different play styles. I found it to be an absolutely useful tool to help better myself. Some teams we beat, and other teams stomped the crap out of us. You could honestly tell who had been to the lighthouse. Did I use the VoC Ice Breaker combo? Yeah. I didn't even really use my Ice Breaker, though. Mainly just the Vision. As far as tea bagging? I have never done that. Whenever I PvP, I keep the Formal Bow locked into my emote. You should celebrate your enemies victories, and respect their defeats.
-
I really dont understand posts about pvp having a competitive nature. What the hell else is it supposed to be? After you sir, no no, I insist you kill me first, in the most chivalrous and gentlemanly manner. I know lets square up, turn, take 10 paces and then turn again and fire. Clowns.

Better off playing doubles in a good game, like Halo.
-
7 AntwortenMe and my buddy went on a very long win streak yesterday. We crushed so many tryhards with nechrochasm. Lmao good times.
-
4 AntwortenThis is the first event that made year one weapons viable to the masses. Of course they are going to use them. You are seeing more thorn because it is really good at stopping the broken hearted buff. You are seeing more ice breaker for obvious reasons... People are going to get special any way they can. If they have it and you don't, they have the advantage. People like to win. Go figure.
-
16 AntwortenThe tea-bagging is what I take offense to the most. Not to condone the sub-20 age category for doing it, but if you're a -blam!-ing adult and you find it to be gamesman-like to pull that shit, you are what's wrong with the continued propensity of a tired, ridiculous cliche. For -blam!-'s sake, why don't they just start creating ways for dipshits to reenact a Dirty Sanchez or a Donkey Punch? Childish and sophomoric.
-
1 AntwortenGuys destiny pvp is no different than any other first person competitive shooter. There is no such thing as honor or mercy when playing games like this online. No one has respect for someone who uses an underpowered weapon just to prove they can and succeed. I personally don't give a crap what you use I'm going to use the best weapons to beat you and then yeah I'm gonna tea bag you to rub it in. Stop being a bunch of sensitive whiners and grow a pair.

Bearbeitet von BuckeyeLeaf: 2/14/2016 6:22:56 PMThis was bungies attempt to get casuals interested in Trials. Should of waited for their matchmaking to get fixed. I've been on the fence for awhile ( my raid group hates destiny PVP). If anything it reaffirms why I play solo.....I suck and don't wanna bring my team down! Almost wish there was a trials tier. Lvl 1,2, and 3. One guaranteed 300 drops, 2 310 drops, and 3 320 drops. This may balance out the teams and get more casuals to try it out. Getting curb stomped isn't all that appealing, aside from being amazed at how good some people are.
-
6 AntwortenVideo games these days are a joke. They're all focused on shitty pvp, and nobody knows what gaming for fun, is. This community is toxic, because of pvp. Had bungie left pvp out, it would have been a much better game, with a MUCH better community.
-
This game mode did not get me angry it is definitely better than Trials, because the bounties are not about winning. So guys don't keep raging this mode takes a break off worrying about winning all the time
-
1 AntwortenBecause the only people left playing pvp are the special snowflakes, everyone else that used to have fun with the game left because there's nothing to do.
-
1 AntwortenAmen, brother. People running thorns and ice brakers, tea bagging at every opportunity. Don't even get me started on the hotline bling on your ghost. Sportsmanship is dead.
-
And PvP gets the most support. smh

Stopped reading at "its not a competitive mode". Yes. Yes it is. Its a game mode that pits 2 teams against each other both competing for the win. Thats the definition of competitive. Try not to go full retard all the time
