So we have another "Special Event" during which Bungie hopes to make a bunch of real money off of Silver purchases, because they don't have time to actually create new game content of significance anymore. If you don't want to force them to actually do something meaningful, then by all means throw money at your TV screens once again; you all can make Luke (self-proclaimed Ass-Hat) Smith an even richer "genius" for taking more money from the kiddies without actually doing anything with the game!
Once again this event is PVP-based, but unlike the last event, you must form a fireteam to play this one since there is no matchmaking for this non-ranked, e.g., light levels are normalized, PVP "Special Event". We can't even play it one-versus-two if we preferred doing that to finding a "partner".
Bungie, you should be endeavoring to include as many players as possible in all activities instead of preventing people from being able to play them at all! Is your objective to see just how fast you can drive away players? If you turn on the lights and it is still dark Bungie, then try removing your head from your ass and perhaps you will see the light!
This is yet another FU to the solo players from Bungie; to whom I say back, FU too!
Edit for the Ninjas:
FU = Feel Undesired
Edit2 for the "SaltShakers"
I never said I was a solo player, but you of course don't really care about the facts or the topic of discussion...
Why anybody feels the need to criticize anybody else for asking about a feature that has no negative impact whatsoever on those that do not use it, but that is of benefit to some subset of players, is beyond comprehension. So, because you don't need it, those that might are somehow the problem to you even though it being provided would have absolutely zero effect on you?
Only a self-centered ignoramus would deprive others of a benefit that has no effect on them whatsoever if provided. To be insulting to those that do need it, or to those that have empathy for those that do, is even worse. If this is how the majority of young people view the world today, then the future is dim for more than just Destiny I'm afraid...
Edit for the azzholes:
I knew I would see you here! :)
1 AntwortenOkay. The whole idea for ToO and CD is to make your own fireteam of people you trust and can work well with, otherwise you lack the coordination of other teams and it puts you at a serious disadvantage. Of all the matchmaking activities in Crucible, you guys poke t the few that makes you do it yourself. If it's such a problem, meet some new people so that you aren't left out of the loop. Bungie can't cater to every single whine, guys.

1 AntwortenI agree more should be focused on the entire community, including solo players. It's frustrating that I enjoy this game and would like to play the way I want to play. But due to the fact that I like to fly solo, I'm locked out of endgame progression. I know there is LFG, I've used it before. But that isn't how I want to play the game. I want to play solo, I want to take on challenges and be rewarded accordingly solo. I want to play solo crucible. Imagine a 1v1 version of Trials, or Iron Banner Rumble. That is what I would enjoy. Make or break moments that are mine alone. I'm not saying get rid of the rest of the game, by any means. Just more for us that like to play solo, too.
-
So? Why are you complaining about what bungievision has done since the beginning. If solo players cant play, then it is a problem with the community isnt it?. After all, a solo player should be able to look on the forums or invite a random to get in. Also, specify if you are a solo player or not. Otherwise people will automatically think you are and not that youre a white knight. Stop trying to stand up for solo players. If they want you to, theyll tell you.

1 AntwortenYou can't really play Destiny and still obtain all the end game content as a solo player. It's almost impossible. I've had to adjust and come out of my comfort zone being predominately a solo player. I had never really bothered with Atheon or Crota... But I decided to change all that when Kings Fall came out and started using LFG a hell of a lot more and I have to say I'm impressed. There's some amazing players out there that'll help you through the hardest challenges in the game! It's not a war on solo players per-se, Destiny revolves around team work and wasn't really intended for solo play to begin with.
-
1 AntwortenYou would prefer that events are available to all guardians, lone wolves or not. I was confused cause you did the Kings fall raid and have a nice grimoire. I would've said some nonsense like " How about you actually get friends fgt" But i see your point

3 AntwortenMeanwhile ubisoft makes sure everything is soloable. Includes proximity chat as standard. And even includes match making for their endgame pvp zone... Just saying... the division is where it's at for solo players these days

Don't know if you noticed, even though they did spot on it in last weeks "This Week at Bungie," but they rolled out a playlist designed for solo players that is currently live in conjunction with Crimson Doubles. I still think they need a Trials-style PvP rumble tournament event, but that's another tangent all together. I don't think Bungie is waging a war on solo players so much as they recognize that many people still playing this enjoy playing with a small, close group of friends or other players. Don't get me wrong, CD's is riddled with cancerous bugs so I'm glad it'll only be around for the week, but hey, it's something. You can't deny it just fits with the impending Valentine's Day. Sorry you're single, bruh.

Bearbeitet von Edalein: 2/11/2016 11:04:28 AMSo Bungie thought i ask a Friend to come back to Destiny for this Event? "Hey wanna do some crappy laggy 2vs2 tryhard Destiny pvp?" Seems legit, everyone says no.

23 AntwortenIt's annoying when people say "then find a group lfg durr durr durr" Being a solo players isn't about not being able to form a group, it's about not wanting to deal with a toxic community on video games. I have long days at school and work, I don't need to elongate it finding groups and dealing with a lot of shit.

The lack of optional MM is the main reason I stopped playing Destiny back in November and its inclusion would almost certainly get me playing again. I played thousands of games of H3 in the 45-50 range (all of which were done via MM with at least one random but normally two) and they required more communication, teamwork and skill than anything in Destiny PvE.
-
Definitely agreed. I'm willing to put money on the fact that they spent more time and resources designing their new emotes than they did on the rewards and actual game content for this event. I mean a ghost is fine, shaders are nice, but that's all? No cool weapon? No armor pieces? Even SRL had armor pieces, and I absolutely hated that event. They fooled all the idiots too with their statement of "a ghost up to 320." Do you also know that all items in the raid now have a chance of "up to 320?" Hasn't happened to me yet.
-
15 AntwortenGet on lfg tardcake. With MM you'd lose every game then blame Bungie for putting a scrub on your team. Literally 0 sympathy to anyone that doesn't use lfg where applicable.

11 AntwortenDestiny isn't meant to be played solo. It's an online world where you're supposed to play with other people.
-
15 AntwortenBearbeitet von OriginalMrDave: 2/11/2016 10:30:30 AMDestiny is fundamentally a Co-op game, virtually every element is designed around the co-op mechanics. Sure you CAN play certain elements of the game solo but I can assure you you'll have more fun running it with a team. If you haven't come to terms with the fact that this game required co-op after 18 months maybe it's time you moved on.

We don't need new content, there's plenty for players like myself who have everything still, just go help newer players with emd game content, takes forever and is very rewarding on top of challenging, no other in game difficulty modifier is nearly as game changing as that.

3 AntwortenThe problem with all this is that it's much easier to create new PvP content than PvE. Even if they made this new event so that you would earn "hearts" or "Valentines" or whatever through killing PvE enemies, that wouldn't be new content. They did the same thing in Festival of the Lost. In PvP, all you have to do is create new modes, playlists, sometimes maps, and bam, you have yourselves new content. In PvE, you'd have to create whole new areas, enemies, dialogue, instances, etc. which is probably much more expensive than doing PvP content. It also explains why a proportion of games are multiplayer-only these days: single-player campaigns and the like take up most of the budget for any game. And for what? Just to play it once or twice then never again? Unlike an endlessly replayable multiplayer? I can't blame them for not creating any new PvE content with money they don't have, which explains the need for Silver in game. Even if paid expansions are still going to be a thing, I'd rather have more paid expansions than fewer for a game like this, so we're not scrapping for content like we are now. Tomorrow is Activision's earning's report. Hopefully they have something to announce on the PvE side for Destiny.

I agree with this. I'm a solo player. And I'm waiting on my mate to buy the TTK to actually play the game with. Haven't touched any DLC story missions or anything yet so I'm pretty bored. Would have been nice to do crimson doubles but get matched up with another solo player instead of having a fireteam. Oh well. Thanks anyway bungie.

Bearbeitet von RichGhost77: 2/11/2016 10:21:50 AMI run solo most of the time and get all my raids and NFs done no probs. (ok NF is usually solo-able anyway but u know what u mean) If i fancy a game of trials, post on lfg, 2 mins later im playing trials. If i had any desire to play crimson i would post on lfg and be playing crimson 2 mins later.....
