Guess you were just talking shit back in Year One, huh?
Why did I work my ass off for my Elder Ciphers again? Or for the Mythoclast I did the VoG every week for and never got until House of Wolves? Or even for the Necrochasm, you know, grinding the absolute hell out of the Husk of the Pit and the Eidolon Ally and then praying to RNGesus for the Crux of Crota. Hey, anyone remember how hard it was to get Pocket Infinity, and the grind you had to do for Nightfalls? All that work just to see those weapons collect dust in my vault?
That brings up another point. Why were some weapons buffed and others nerfed... only for them NEVER to come to year two? What was the point of that? Examples: Thorn, and Gjallarhorn. Thorn was given a "net buff"... and there is no Year Two version. Gjallarhorn was nerfed... and there is no Year Two version. Why bother nerfing these weapons when there is no Year Two version?

Edit: Some of you bring up points about nothing lasting forever. And while that may be true... why would Bungie lie to us? Why DID they lie to us?
Edit 2: Darean028 found the exact quote. Bungie Weekly Update 12/04/2014:
"In the months to come, your quest to become more powerful will have more avenues that lead to satisfaction. The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected."
Edit 3: For those saying I can use Year One gear in Crucible, have you seen my Crucible K/D? It's absolute shite. I'm a PvE kind of guy.
To quote cpt PRIKPANTS
If Bungie was so worried about everyone using the same weapon load out then why didn't they simply make the new weapons stronger, nicer and more appealing? Also, where are the primaries with burns? They make one and it's by default! Then people wouldn't be hung up on the vision, the fang, the thorn, the ghally, the ice breaker and so on if they had better options!!
Either way, the old weapons and gear should have stayed in the game as an option to use considering how much time was vested in getting them!!
11 AntwortenYear one weapons are more useful than most give them credit for. If you only use one year weapon at a time and have high light in all the other slots you can keep your light up high enough to effectively use a year one. Armor is useless though. Lower light and shity stats ugh
-
They also lied about sbmm.
-
4 Antwortensomeone should tell the PvP guys that their year 1 weapons are obsolete. not sure they got the memo.

3 AntwortenI ran VoG last night. Trust me, if you don't have the appropriate Vog weapons, the Oracles don't die easily. I'm assuming that in Crota's End and PoE weapons that kill Hive Majors faster are still a great help in the Hive sections. This doesn't strike me as being obsolete. Like if I have a wrench for a very specific job, it isn't obsolete just because new jobs use a different bolt head, it's still perfectly good for doing the job that it was designed for. The problem isn't that our GEAR is obsolete, it's that the CONTENT is obsolete. It's bloody hard getting a VoG team together because even the prospect of 15+ motes of light at the end isn't enough for most people. Old raids and PoE need to be worthwhile. Tell you what, give me a bounty that gives me half a level of faction and vanguard rep when I complete a Raid or PoE activity and you'll get me very much back on board with doing the old activities. Make all the exotic drops include a Y2 exotic drop chance and I'm even more in. Make all the bosses take a 3 of coins and I'll be even more inclined

We should make one million copies of this in letter form and mail it to bungie. With any luck the avalanche of mail will hopefully crush both Deej and Luke smith. Or at least Deej for that line.

2 AntwortenDon't forget the necrochasm buff, ya know the one NO ONE F--#KIN REMEBERS SINCE THE ONE WEAPON WITH EVERY REASON TO COME INT YEAR TWO SINCE IT WAS A HIVE RAID WEAPON WAS STAYED BACK IN YEAR ONE
-
While I completely agree, I'd love to be able to keep all weaps and armour relevant, they technically didn't lie. All your year one stuff is still perfectly usable - for year one activities, which is where you earned it. So not obsolete, just obsolete against new content that didn't exist when you got those items. I do feel it's a shame though, visual/load out diversity goes to a narrow point very quickly with this current idiotic light system. Since when does my Titan tea-towel have armour value or mythical light properties? It's a fricken tea towel.

Even though everything is subjected to change... I miss my old year one armor more than anything. The aesthetics were bad ass!! Old Hunter class items were toooooo OP.

Probable response: "because we can."

2 AntwortenFirst of all, people are still on this? Really? Jesus, the bone marrow is gone at this point Second of all, they were nerfed because even without a year Two version, they were still supremely powerful in both PvP and PvE. All that would change if they moved to Year Two is how much it'd affect your light level. Other than that, there's zero difference between Year One gear and Year Two gear.
-
2 AntwortenYou can equip any year one weapon and still be over 300 light.
-
2 AntwortenDon't forget Ice Breaker :( Gally & Ice were the communities favourite weapons and they nerf them and leave them behind, proper kick in the teeth :( If they were planning on leaving those 2 in yr1, why not let them retire with their glory and dignity intact? Bungie = shit bags!

6 AntwortenOK but ask yourself
are these still challenging tasks to complete?
-
I know right? I had a blue machine gun when I was like 12th that was beast! Why isn't it still Bungie!? /sarcasm
-
1 AntwortenAgreed. Was helping a friend level a new character the other day, had so much fun pulling out Fatebringer and Patience & Time. Leaving those weapons behind was such a mistake.
-
2 AntwortenI think they were, yet again, only talking about PvP... :/

Bearbeitet von Hellekeen: 2/9/2016 1:44:49 PMbungie doesnt talk to each other..

It's because they altered their "plan" going from year to year based on feedback and in turn they broke their system they had.

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von Patx484: 2/9/2016 10:21:39 AM
I got Crux first hard Crota, Mythoclast first hard VoG and Gjallarhorn from an Iron Banner Game..... Your point?
well, he should have present his resignation by now; but there are no spine involved...there is only sticky gelatine all over the place

Just one of the many lies spoken through Deej.

Sooooo true. We have been royally screwed!
